just caught this but for a split second between the splatoon logo glitching out and switching to the grizzco logo for the big run announcement they show this sunken scroll from splatoon 2

and the scrolls in game text is: "When smoke rises from the seven rings, The pinkfish will emerge from the sea, devouring all the creatures of the land." -The Book of Madai, chapter 10, verse 10

and heres the light map of splatoon (ripped from the game during the ending credits, edited by me to look closer to the first one)

look how closely splatoon societies stick to the edges of continents, they stick really close to water. cool interesting detail
