When I was early on in my transition I got in a Lyft, and the driver was this big country guy. I was a little nervous so I just sat quietly in the back.
After a moment he changed the music on his phone to what sounded like a Hatsune Miku song. Curiosity got the better of me, so I finally spoke up and said “is this Hatsune Miku?”
And he said “Yep. You looked uncomfortable, and I know Transgender women like Hatsune Miku, so I thought it might help.”
I think about that interaction a lot.
this will get to the right people

this is so out of left field but i am having a gay crisis i guess? feel free to ignore but you give wise older sibling vibes don’t ask me why because i dont know so here I just gotta write this down bc i went on my first date ever w a man and he really likes me and thinks im pretty and i feel nothing and he wants to go on a second date and i said yes bc i should give this stuff a go you know but i literally cringe at the thought of like kissing him or doing anything romantic w a man but when i think of doing it with a woman i do not feel cringe or icky im like yeah sounds nice… always knew i liked girls but was unsure about guys and now im just lowkey spiralling bc ive been afraid of the word lesbian forever but now its not hitting me w the gut punch it used to??? i might just need to get drunk and kiss strangers in the clubs but anyways thank you for listening i need to work out how to not hurt this very nice boy who likes me
oh what a lovely descriptor aa thank you! and u sound like you’re in the process of detangling your internal dilemma on your own so kudos to you! n reminder that letting him down easy is totally understandable—suspected lesbian or not. tonnns of people don’t feel it on the second date. it’s usually the certifiable tiebreaker actually! dating should be fun. so it’s well within your realms to just say you don’t feel a spark regardless what you think your sexuality may or may not be. wishing u the best of luck in your romantic ventures anon <3
me: *existing, minding my own business*
random man: i just don’t understand why you would breathe 50ft away from me if you’re not interested in me
i'm probably overreacting a little but i hate when men try to flirt with me like even if they're nice it makes me soso uncomfortable to a degree i'm not sure is justified. just. don't look at me like that. don't say i'm pretty. don't touch me. i'm convinced some men do not know body language or conversational clues at ALL like can you really not tell i'm not interested?????
In my time on this site, I have often seen radical feminists (of the trans-exclusionary persuasion) complain about trans women presenting themselves in ways that enforce caricatures and stereotypes of women and femininity.
My response to this, however, is: why is the full blame for this being placed on said trans women instead of on the patriarchal systems that skew everyone’s perception of what it means to be a woman?
Many such cases. It's ironic that reactionaries are the greatest enforcers of gender ideology
I love when I’m wearing shorts and men see my hairy legs and literally grimace it’s so funny. I hope my legs get even hairier just to piss em off
Mild pet peeve I feel like no one talks about but should talk about more: Headbands on baby girls. They look uncomfortable, they’re impractical and I hate how even from birth baby girls being cute is prioritized over their comfort.
I think I am the opposite of a pick-me girl. Like a pls-don’t-pick-me girl. As in I do not, under any circumstances, want to come across as a girl who gets along with men. Or has any sort of relationship with them. I never want a man to look at me and think oh she seems approachable and agreeable. Like no.
as a middle schooler i can say that all the casual misogyny that freely exists on the internet (and just society in general) is 100% affecting young men. literally 5 years ago in my grade girls and boys were barely seperated/treated differently by their peers, but once they gained access to the internet (their first taste of unfiltered society), they turn into sexist assholes who barely view women as other humans.
I haaaaaate how porn-rotted men's brains are. You can't even have a normal conversation with most guys these days- especially Gen Z. Almost every word you say to these guys, they'll find a way to make it sexual. Seriously. With no context.
For example- I was telling a male I know about one of my friends who managed to convince an owner of a local bakery to give her one of his popular recipes. ALL I said was, "He wouldn't give her X (most popular recipe) so her gave her the Y." Of course... "that sounds weird!! hahahahaha! He gave her the Y."
Or when you mention the word "stuck" they follow it with something about step-brothers (absolutely vile). God forbid you say the word "size" in reference to anything!
...But noooooo, obviously, porn has no effect on the brain! It totally doesn't make men sexualize every single woman they see IRL.

Men couldn't care less about male victims of SA, rape or any form of abuse. They only say "Men also go through this" when a woman is talking about a tough situation she's facing. All men want to do is invalidate women's feelings and hardships. When was the last time they mentioned men going through mental/emotional/physical abuse without it being a response to a woman being the victim of an injustice ?
