still not over chapter 13. dorian killing the one person who loved him as something more than just a pretty face because that’s all dorian saw himself as. basil seeing the torture dorian’s soul has endured but still believing he is not yet lost. and the action of killing basil being the point of no return for dorian. only the artist could have helped his art, but the death of the artist leaves his work finished, no matter what.

Listen. The Picture of Dorian Gray should not be hard to adapt. Drag Ben Whishaw or Nick Hoult or somebody out of the opium dens to play Lord Henry, it's not as if we're strapped for gorgeous dissolute twinks. Kidnap 20-year-old Heath Ledger from the year 1999 to play Dorian. Summon the ghost of Pier Paolo Pasolini from Hell and tell him that if he doesn't direct another indescribably awful gay arthouse pornohorror, the fascists will win. And - this is crucial - make it gay, but in the worst way possible. I want it to set the discourse back 15 years. People should walk out of the theater asking if gay marriage should be legal.

It’s amazing to see how the relationship between Dorian and Basil changes through dialogue selection; this line (if I remember correctly and under comprehensible reasons) did not make into the film, so I took some liberty in mixing things up and made a little offering to all the artists that gave me brainrot.

I love folks asking for no spoilers for the rest of Gideon the Ninth after they've read it. "Please no spoilers" my sibling in Jod, I even if I laid the rest of the plot out in bullet points for you step by step in an annotated diagram there is no way I could prepare you for what was happening. I could tell you point blank what happens to each and every character in the series and you'd still read the books and go "what the fuck". Tamsyn Muir made a spoiler proof trilogy. It's like the matrix. You cannot know what happens in future books. To be frank even if you read them it's pretty much uncertain you know what happens in future books. I want the next one right now.
