ok but if letting your kid use a different name & different words & wear different clothing is scientifically likely to improve their health & happiness and lower their risk of suicide, whether or not they change their minds later….does it really matter whether you personally “get it”? does it even matter if you’re comfortable with it? 

if you’ve got all this science telling you that letting your kid do these things is going to make them happier & healthier than not letting them….then just tell them it’s ok. 

it’s not your kid’s job to be the child you wanted. it’s your job to make choices that allow them to be the happiest version of themselves. make sure your kid knows that you will love and support them no matter what gender they present as. make sure they know they don’t have to hide.

I really like both the old and the new version 166 (both so cute omg). I have a headkanon that 166 is bad at eating anything at all, so her father tries to leave her little gifts from all over the world that cannot harm her. And she tries every day to pray for his well-being, as she believes that he is a big idiot and puts himself in risky situations.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS REAL

my biology professor has such a chaotic energy about him, last week i went to his office hours and somehow we ended up on the topic of gay marriage:

he said that when he lived in texas they changed the law to define marriage as “between a man and a woman in a house of religious worship with the intention to have children” so he filed his taxes as single and when they called him up like “you filed married last year” he was like “you changed the law, i was married by a judge in a courthouse and i have no intention of having kids” and they told him “you know who that law was for” and i guess he hung up on them and did not, in fact, pay taxes as a married man that year
