"hm?" comes from maya, questioning noise in her throat as she looks up from her phone and to andy, brow raised. "an opportunity like what?" she absolutely had not been paying attention to a word the other girl had said, having tuned her out ages ago. but at least she's actually asking about what andy is talking about and not just pretending like she had listened and knows what's going on. the redhead should count herself lucky for that.

"yes." maya answers, sarcasm dripping from her tone, giving a roll of her eyes. "i totally wanted to hit the wall instead of the trash can so the smoothie would splatter all over it and onto the floor, that was totally my goal. you figured it out!" the enthusiasm at the end is just as sarcastic as the rest of her words as she stands, going to grab a towel to clean the mess up. "any more stupid questions?" is asked, looking to the redhead with an unimpressed expression.

"No." Maya ground out with gritted teeth, irritation flaring up within her. Not only because she felt as though she was being called out, but also for her failure. For letting the guy get away. For missing, hitting the wall (with her heat vision) instead of him. "No I didn't and thanks for the fucking reminder." She let out a frustrated noise, plopping herself down on the ground and running a hand through her hair, not sure what the hell she was supposed to do now. She looked up at the other, feeling irritated even by her presence at the moment. "You know, if you were gonna be here you could've at least made yourself useful."

it's been a long day, far too long of one - in her opinion. dedicating her life to fighting crime means sometimes her days end with her impossibly worn down, strung out, exhausted. but she never lets it show though, not for most around her, at least. always having to be that tough girl, that angry girl, the one putting on a brave face because she'll be damned if she lets anyone break down the walls she's so carefully constructed and put up ...

the exception, however, to all of this is of course, rose white. the one person on earth who gets to see every single side of maya that she doesn't show to anyone else. the weak side, the soft side, the vulnerable side. the one person who calms all those smoldering flames. so now, as she arrives, she doesn't say much. dropping her bag down on the ground, before approaching her girlfriend, not even hesitating before making her way into the other's lap - arms going to wrap tight around her.

idk why tf safari keeps logging me out of maya’s blog - but anyways i’m gonna eat dinner & then be on here. i’m gonna maybe try to make a promo tonight but i probably won’t post it till later tomorrow. my goal is to do what i owe here since it’s not much & then head over to steve’s blog. i know i said that last night but - my night got a bit interrupted last night. so yeah anyways i’ll be on shortly!

i really wanted to finish things on here & do stuff on my baby boy (as in steve) before i went to sleep but … the tired sleepys seem to be hitting hard & i think i gotta listen to them & just go to bed :((( sad hours. but i’ll be back on when i wake up later & hopefully get to things for my boy then. much love to you all, mwah mwah <3

maya's mom had encouraged her to talk to shawn, 'he needs all the support he can get right now and he is family', so here she is, attempting to do that. even if she doesn't really want to. head is propped on her hand as she looks at shawn. "so ... what's the deal with you and prince stevie? you're usually following him around like a little lost puppy dog ... trouble in paradise?" truthfully she doesn't really exactly care, but talking about this is much more appealing to her than talking about his feelings. "or did he decide to ditch you when the truth came out? realized he was more into the whole vk aesthetic?"

maya is trying to concentrate on the sketch in front of her, charcoal pencil moving across the paper, when she's suddenly interrupted by the sound of her bedroom door opening. eyebrows scrunching together, irritation flaring up at the interruption, she raises her head, somehow not surprised to see that it's kie. she lets out a sigh, holding back an eyeroll. "i'm a little busy at the moment." gesture towards her sketchbook. "but what's up?"

Maya's eyes narrow as she fully processes what the other's said, and before either of them can even blink - she's shoving them against the nearest wall, arm across their chest, holding them in place. "What the fuck did you just say?" Is asked, rage flaring to life in her chest - blue eyes turning black in anger.

Maya wanted to give into her instincts, to raise her hackles, bare her teeth, run away, but she was trying so so hard to actually be respectful. Be the daughter her father had raised. Still though, she crossed her arm over her chest protectively, eyed the older woman warily. "Look, I'm fine. Really. I just need to get home, so if you could let me call my dad I'll be on my way and out of your hair ..." She didn't do other adults, didn't trust most aside from the select few that she did, she just wanted out of there.

... okay i'm still writing but pause bc i think i'm changing graphics only VERY SLIGHTLY (they're staying the same but i think i like how things look better with brightness adjustments) ...

question @ the dash, if anyone has the answer/advice - what is a good tip/way to deal w dark lighting scenes & a dark psd? bc ... my psd's already pretty dark & my typical adjustments aren't enough to make dark scenes better -

on steve's blog i've just stuck the upside down psd on any dark scenes before my main psd, but with here it makes everything way too bright ...
