We know that Shigirake (wrongly) thinks Bakugo is no threat so imagine he taunts Deku with something like 'you're the weilder of one of the most powerful quirks in the world - why do you care so much for this insignificant miserable little bastard...how does he make you so weak ?' BKDK vs Izuocha in the Joint Training Arc

Bakugou and Uraraka. Surprising foils. Narrative rivals for Midoriya’s attention. And in the Joint Training arc, the difference between their abilities to engage, support, and stimulate Midoriya really come to a head. In an arc allegedly all about the Midoraka relationship (they’re on the same team and all), looking beneath the surface helps reveal just why so many fans feel that Bakugou is Midoriya’s soulmate and true life partner - or at least that Uraraka may not be the right partner for him. This is indeed the part of the story where a few troubling underlying aspects of Midoriya and Uraraka’s dynamic start to become obvious, especially when contrasted against Deku’s dynamic with Kacchan. Spoilers through 217.

For those who object to All Might calling Kacchan Deku’s friend, just remember that his bff Iida punched him in the face.

This freaking call back to Chapter 1. In case you had any doubt that Deku is being moved by the desire to save Kacchan. He could die, he could piss off his mom, everyone is telling him not to, but it doesn’t matter. Because it’s Kacchan.

Hearing Kacchan’s voice re-energizes Deku to do something when he was paralyzed with fear.

Bakugo notices and figures out what’s up with Deku.

Deku notices and wonders what’s up with Kacchan.
