Bener, waktu itu pernah tugas kuliah udah kelar, pokoknya lagi enak2. Eh ada panggilan rapat organisasi yang begitu tiba2 ( *・ω・)ノ

Belum lama ini adik saya bilang sesuatu, bahwa ketika hidupnya sedang aman-aman dan ia terlalu senang; esoknya kerjaan banyak dan ada saja tantangan.

Uniknya, ini dirasakan oleh banyak sekali orang. Ada masanya kita terlalu baik-baik saja sampai 'curiga': setelahnya ada apa ya?

Nyatanya, memang begitulah hidup. Macam gelombang naik turun yang habis melenggang tinggi seringkali langsung turun drastis.

Abdullah bin Mas'ud pun pernah menasihati, "ma'a kulli farhah, tarhah", di setiap ada kesenangan, akan diikuti pula dengan duka.

Itulah yang membuat surat Al Insyirah semakin bertambah dalam maknanya bagi siapapun yang membacanya: sebab satu kesulitan diiringi dengan dua kemudahan.

It's ironic that to her animal's lives are more sacred to her than Palestinians. I used to have gifs of the movie tale of love and darkness on my blog. The point of view of a Jewish boy in Israel. Funny how Palestinian movies gets cancelled. So, I watched it. The main character wanted to tell a pretty Arab girl that both people should live in Israel in peace. Ironically. He mentioned in the book and not the movie ....

This movie lied to me. I am so disappointed.

So call me a cunt and pos and whatever. These were celebrities I used to worship and was stupid to believe in their lies. I hate Hollywood.

Is there anything I can do to help Palestinians besides call my representatives and beg them to stop killing people?

Urge your University/School/Organization to put out a statement denouncing Israel

Organize a Protest/Participate in a local one

You might already be doing this but while calling your reps, tell them that as a voter, you're unwilling to support them in the upcoming election unless they urge the White House to take a stand against Israel and stop funding them

Share art/writing/films around Palestinian culture

If you're part of a union, ask them what they're doing to urge their industry leaders to take a stand against Israel + pressure the White House OR urge them to start a strike/walkout/etc if they're not doing anything already

Talk with your friends IRL about Palestine, whether in an activist capacity or watching a movie or literally anything

Reach out to a mosque to see if you can help them with anything

See if your city/state council has put out a statement in support of Gazans. If not, try to push them to do so.

Donate to Palestine Legal or Direct Action if you have some money to spare

KEEP TALKING ON SOCIAL MEDIA!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know some of these don't feel like they have as big of an impact on helping Palestinians, but we do need to make an effort not to forget their humanity in the face of continued erasure and the media's sensationalist rhetoric.

Talking on social media and posting—while not seeming like a lot—does SO much. I know in USAmerica, it's like yelling into a void, but political analysts are saying that most of the "Global South" has completely lost any amount of goodwill it may have had the past few years. Hopefully, countries will start to put sanctions and embargoes en masse on the US and Israel soon.

Our goals here are BOTH short-term and long-term. We hope for the life and liberation of the Palestinian people, so anything that you can think of might help at some point in the future is encouraged to at least try.

if we should protect children because they are vunerable, this means you would protect cruel children who bullies people who different than them then. the children who responsible to trauma for someone else's entire years

You're assuming that "protecting" children is the same as absolving them of responsibility and that's not what I said. All children are vulnerable, because all children are children; they don't come out of the womb with a perfectly working moral compass anymore than they come out of it waiting to hurt people--they're vulnerable because their understanding of the world is entirely at the mercy of what we, as adults, consistently tell them and show them. Children behaving cruelly aren't exempt from that--they learn that cruelty from somewhere, or someone. Your job, as the adult, is to make sure they understand that it's unacceptable so it will not happen again--but your job is also to ask why someone that young is behaving this way to begin with, so you can ensure they become better.

"Protecting" kids is not ignoring when they hurt or torment others, it's not refusing to teach them consequences or right from wrong, it's not "zero tolerance" policies in schools that treat a child being bullied and the child bullying them as equal instigators, and it's certainly not protecting them from recognizing, and atoning for, the pain they have caused someone else. You don't have to make peace with the now-adults who hurt you when you both were kids, but you cannot let the horrors of your own childhood impact how you treat or respond to the children living theirs around you right now, either.

You don't protect kids so they can get a free pass for bullying or tormenting another child. You protect them because kids are impulsive, emotionally reactive, and profoundly social (which means deeply impressionable) human beings who are still learning & processing insane amounts of information every day about what it means to be alive, to be alive as yourself, to be alive as yourself with other people. Protecting them is realising that you can't isolate the responsibility of a 10 year old from the bigger responsibility of the literal grown adults around them, adults who are in charge of teaching them about the world and how to behave in it. Whether you have children of your own in the future or not is completely irrelevant to this; we all become those adults eventually--no matter what happened to us as kids.

Suatu hari Rasul pernah bertanya pada seorang sahabat, Adh Dhahhak bin Sufyan namanya, "wahai Dhahhak, apa yang suka kau makan?"

"Aku suka daging dan susu", jawab sahabat itu. Rasul bertanya lagi, "lalu, pada akhirnya makanan itu jadi apa?"

"Ia, akan jadi sesuatu yang engkau pun telah tahu, wahai Rasul...", Jawab Dhahhak dengan sopan.

Ini tanya jawab tentang makanan. Tapi uraian Rasul begitu dalam setelahnya, "Sesungguhnya, Allah menggambarkan dunia ini adalah seperti apa yang keluar dari tubuh Bani Adam..."

Manisnya, asinnya, pahitnya, getirnya; pada akhirnya akan berakhir jadi "sesuatu yang engkau pun tahu."

Dunia pun begitu, kan? Kayanya, kurangnya, tinggi kedudukannya, mapan dan bangkrutnya, kuat dan lemahnya: semua berakhir di liang lahat.
