Finally someone said something! The amount of times I've seen someone headcanon Graves as the cliche racist and homophobic southern American really grinds my gears. It's literally messed up that people put stereotypes on characters like him. Don't get me wrong, I love COD fanfic writers but when they write the characters too OOC and make it to the point where they're just harmful, trigger inducing headcannons for readers with problems of abuse, an ED, dealing with racists or homophobes, etc then I can't support that. They have every right to write what they want but respectfully I'm not going to support that because when their fics hit to close to home, that's where I draw the line. Fics are just like any other book, an escape from a bad day or seeking a comfort of some sort. It shouldn't trigger you or make you have a panic attack. It's for entertainment, not to worsen your mental health.
