post club partying and you’re at a diner, tipsy and love drunk, messily inhaling a cheese burger and fries while abby devours hers with a little more manners. she’s not as drunk as you and spends most of her time smiling at your drunk swaying/dancing to the overhead radio as you munch on your burger, holding it with two hands, elbows tucked into your side like a child. you’re blasted.

the two of you are sharing a blackberry milkshake with one straw because according to you it’s “better for the environment”

there’s a few other customers but only one waitress, who like every waitress in a small diner, is a 50 year old lesbian with a dry sense of humor. she hums in amusement when she first takes your order. you were oblivious to her, your hands playing with abby’s left one and your eyes locked onto abby’s face, smiling adoringly at her. the blonde hands the waitress the menus with her free right hand, ordering the basic diner meal and of course the blackberry shake with a passionate “one straw please!” coming from you though your eyes never leave her face

when the waitress brings the check, abby has moved to your side of the table. you’re tucked into her side, sucking the last of the blackberry milkshake aka 99% of the seeds through the straw. the waitress places the check next to abby’s plate with a pen.

“you two are too cute,” the waitress says as soft as you can after years of smoking cheap cigs. “it’s nice to see the young ones doing so well. goodnight sweethearts”

and with abby’s strength, a lot of patience, and your sudden burst of energy, you successfully make it back to the car and tucked into the passenger seat. she starts the car, making sure the seat heater is on before you even ask. she snags a sweatshirt from the back and places it over your legs as a blanket. when she pulls out of the dark parking lot where the only light comes from the windows and single sign of the diner, she takes one last glance at your cute sleepy face until it gets too dark to see before driving your drunk ass home <3

Unfortunately the way to leave the house is just to do it. You gotta put on some bad eyeliner and go to the club alone and talk to no one and get too drunk and cry all the way home because you're so useless. And then you wake up the next day and realize, "Oh, I guess that wasn't so bad." Maybe you do it a few more times just to get the lesson to really stick. And then you're free. Then you can do anything.

literally want nothing more than this. abby’s leg hiked up around your waist her head laying against your chest and snores coming from her pouty lips. all of her weight rests on top of you, but you welcome it. you were supposed to leave a few hours ago to meet some friends, but you don’t have the heart to move her. so you just rub her back, run your fingers through her hair, smoothing over the top her head. abby whispers your name in her sleep, and it makes you smile.

it’s never like this with her. she usually likes to be one who holds rather than being held. you take comfort knowing how vulnerable she lets herself be around you. her soft breath on your exposed chest, her hands subconsciously land on your hips as her thin sheets barely hold over her hips and yours, her bare skin feels like heaven. strong, freckled back is a sight to see, and you can’t help yourself watching her. you never want to leave this moment, always want to say right here in serenity with her.

you were trying to convince ellie to let you come on patrol with her, even though you were still recovering from a bad cold. she walked towards the door of your house, pulling the hood of her hoodie out from beneath her jacket where it was tucked in.

“its cold out there! you’re not even gonna wanna be out there, and then i’m gonna have to deal with you complaining.” she chuckled, edging towards the door as you followed her into the room.

“nooo.” you shook your head in disagreement, and she countered it by nodding slowly and deliberately.

“yeees.” she retaliated in the same tone as you. “you still look all flushed, infact you should be in bed. i can get jesse to cover you he doesn’t care, babe please.” she pulled her backpack onto her shoulders before standing up straight giving you a look. you pout, wandering closer and pulling her towards you by the lapels of her khaki jacket.

“please?” you stare up at her with big doe eyes and she scrunches her eyes closed, shaking her head.

“uh-uh, nope you’re not gonna pull those eyes out on me, bambi. step away.” she points away from her, trying to mask the amused smile threatening to creep up on her face.

“bambi? like the disney deer?” you giggle, off guard and she detaches herself from you.

“yeah, i actually heard some kid saying he had the DVD a few days back. if you’re good and you stay here like i asked, i’ll try and trade for it so we can watch together. deal?” she backed towards the door as you gave in, crossing your arms over your chest starting to feel the chill of the house.

“deal.”

“good, now go get back into bed. i’ll see you in a few hours.” she smiled softly and you rushed to her, kissing her cheek.

“bye, love you, be safe.” you kissed her other cheek. she chuckled some more, smoothing your hair back before unlatching the door.

“will do, see ya’, bambi.”
