Omega sighs, hugging him close. “I’ve made my choice, and I’ll have a team. I’m joining Hera’s team.” She pulls away and holds his hand. “You don’t have to worry, like I said… I’m not a kid.” She smiles.

Hunter pulls her forehead against his. “No matter how old you get, or where you are in the galaxy… you will always be our kid, Omega.” He says softly. “You’ve been our kid since the day we met you in that hallway, and you’ll be our kid even when we’re all marching. Always and forever.”

Omega has to hold back tears, and she hugs Hunter tightly, sniffling. “Promise me you’ll be here when I come home?” She whispers.

“Oh baby girl.” Hunter hugs her tight. “I promise. Rex is looking for a cure for our aging, and I know he’ll find one.” He smiles. “Now you better get going, you call at least twice a day okay?” He has his own tears.

Omega nods, a tear falling down her cheek. “Yeah, I promise.”

Hunter tenderly wipes it away. “Alright…you go on then.”

Omega nods, standing up and heading to the ship. She knows that this is what she needs to do, it’s just so hard, leaving her family.

“Omega!”

Omega looks back, seeing her papa standing. She blinks.

“If you ever need us… we’ll be there.” Hunter says softly, and he means it. No matter how old or pregnant he is… he will always be there to help his daughter.

Omega smiles. “And if you all ever need me… I’ll come running.” And she heads into the ship.

“That’s my girl.” Hunter grins, watching as the ship starts up. He waves, as she flies off. This was the hardest thing he’s ever done, but he knows that she’ll be back someday. And when she does, they’ll give her the biggest welcome they can plan. He rubs his belly. With some new siblings to meet too.

This was the best ending they could give to us…I started crying so badly

This show means a lot to me. In a way I don’t even understand why. But those characters? Hunter and Omega. They changed me so much. They are so important to me

So, seeing them get a proper happy ending, together, in a dear like in Pabu, just felt…like a dream.

I’m not used to happy endings to stories. This was one I was sure would end with tragedy.

But it didn’t. I wish Tech was still here, with them. Cuz now they are a family actually being able to be one. Without the war…

Clothes that fit G3 Monster High bodies

My Draculauras wearing a mishmash of Barbie, LOL OMG, Rainbow High, Creatable World and G1 Monster High clothes.

I think it would be really helpful if we had a widely available list of clothes from other doll lines that fit Monster High G3 bodies.

The lists I’ve seen online are kinda incomplete and leave out a lot of info imo so it’d be good to have a list of clothes, accessories and shoes that fit the three different doll body types currently in G3.

So if you guys know of other clothes that fit, please comment on it! And we can make a big list with all the info gathered.

I’ll start.

Clothes and accessories that fit G3 bodies

- Bratzillaz clothes. Short skirts fit only at the thinnest part of Draculaura’s waist. They are also a bit too short and don’t cover her butt completely but that can be fixed by giving her tight shorts underneath. They can also look very short on Cleo but again, fixable if that’s not your style. Bratzillaz shoes also fit all G3s! The plastic is soft and pliable enough for G3 feet.

- LOL OMG clothes. All clothes I’ve tried from the main line fit really well. LOL OMG Tweens however is a different story. Some skirts will fit but will be incredibly short. The belts, chokers and bracelets also fit perfectly. Not the shoes, certain earrings nor the headbands though. Some earrings I’ve found are too thick to fit without having to widen the ear holes.

- Creatable World, though with caveats. The tops are a bit too long for G3 torsos and the bottoms do fit but it can be a struggle on Draculaura and Cleo. It took me a pretty long while to pull Creatable World shorts over Drac’s butt but when I did manage it though, they looked great. The glasses and hats fit really well too.

- Rainbow High but also with some caveats. Tops are too loose. The bottoms, socks and shoes however, fit wonderfully in my experience. The tops will probably fit Abbey much better! Earrings are a no go, too big and can damage the plastic of G3 ears in my experience but other people have managed to make em fit so your mileage may vary. RH Junior clothes are a good fit but not the shoes, too small.

- Barbie short skirts. Again, a bit of a struggle but old 90’s skirts did eventually fit, albeit tightly on Draculaura. I suspect the curvy Barbie bottoms would probably work a lot better on her. Stretchy leggings and socks did fit well at least but were a bit loose on dolls like Clawdeen and Frankie.

- Disney Princess clothes and shoes with some caveats. Some of the princesses’ clothes have torsos too long to be a perfect fit but many others do fit really well. The shoes have soft plastic, which means G3 feet fit in them but just be gentle when inserting them so as to not damage the shoes. For more info, check out this post and the notes to it.

- G1 Monster High cropped tops. The top that comes with G1 Clawdeen’s bathing suit fits G3 Draculaura really well. Other tops have too long torsos and skirts so far have been a lost cause. Bathing suits can fit G3 Cleo but with some effort. G1 boots can fit by heating them with a dryer first but I don’t know how safe that is.

- Mermaid High (credit to tumblr user @merrym1nt for this info!). Clothes fit all 3 G3 bodies with some slight caveats. Like with LOL Tweens, skirts seem to ride up Draculaura’s waist so they’re likely to look pretty short on her. The shoes are too small but the plastic is soft enough to fit on G3 feet anyway. To get an example of how the clothes fit, there’s pictures on merrym1nt’s tumblr.

- Ever After High clothes fit most G3s pretty well. A bit too tight on Draculaura but surprisingly not too bad most of the time! Tights have been a no go on Drac and Cleo in my experience, though. Shoes and boots can fit using the hair dryer method but again, not sure how safe this is so experiment at your own risk.

- Calico Critters tops (credit to @mmoonside for this info!). The tops fit the main G3 body type but likely wouldn’t fit on Cleo or Draculaura. Shorts will go up on the core body type dolls but won’t close in the back. To get an example of how the clothes fit, here’s some pictures of mmoonside’s Lagoona modeling the tops.

- Wild Hearts Crew although the clothes and boots fit, there’s sadly not much to choose from :(

- Descendants clothes and shoes all fit most of the current dolls (probs won’t fit Abbey though)! The shoes are also often reused in some of the Disney Princess dolls but with different colors (Descendants shoes have darker colors for their villain kids while Disney Princess shoes aside from Frozen’s Anna tend to be more colorful).

- DC Super Hero Girls with caveats. Clothes fit well on dolls with the main body type (Frankie, Clawdeen, Lagoona and etc) but can be kinda wonky on Cleo and not great on Draculaura.

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who has trouble remembering developmental milestones. I put these together, but can’t take credit for any of the photography. Hope someone finds them helpful!

Pawn & Sword

This summer I had been asked by @chibimyumi to make a version of Pawn & Sword Reprise that was singable in English. Taking her translation, and working on it bit by bit over the past 7 months or so, I came up with this version, which conservatively keeps a lot of the original wording, which I felt was rich in imagery and poetic to begin with and added a lyrical touch to better fit the sounds in English.

For anyone interested, yes, I listened to this song on repeat for hours, weeks on end like a fiend to match the right sounds. It’s become one of my auditory stims now. Haha

Japanese poetry and lyrics are for the majority narrative, sparing with images, just enough to give you a feel or sense of the image like smoke.

If I were to elaborate, without keeping strictly to lyrics and only focusing on concepts the imagery would have been far greater. More like page poetry. But not singable perhaps?

I have sung this several times now tweaking it and perhaps it will be tweaked more, now that I have time. But not a lot.

Here are the notes I kept while working on it. If you think these are a lot, imagine the work a translator goes through to figure out how the original should be. Please go lavish @chibimyumi with praise for her translation work and so forth. It’s some of the most tiring work ever.

(I have professional linguist/ translator friends, I hear all about it)

If anyone is so inclined I would very much take pleasure in hearing karaoke or a cover of the song using these lyrics, just to test how well of a job I’ve done. please.

1. /Your/ the song needed to open on a similar hard sound to Gouyoku, it’s important that openings and endings sound the same in both languages otherwise it throws the whole song off.

2. relentless: this is synonymous and gives an almost identical image to ‘welling”, it has connotations with swiftness, hard, unending tasks and treatment and is also synonymous with revenge, using it tells you the nature of the wishes.

3. Wishes is the cannon word, it is more specific than desire (this has been used in other translations), which has deeper romantic/sexual connotations and is not specific. The 3 wishes reference.

4. This is a creepy joke going on in the original which is part of Sebastian’s intent, but in English, doesn’t fit the elegance of the rest of the song. I went with the implied image of the wishes being grander than the size of the wisher. Surpass has connotations of fast, upward movement, and mobility both physically and in a class sense. It sounds British. Tiny can be inserted to reinforce the original concept, but it might be cumbersome? try it out.

5. Form vs. Body: A note about Anglo-Saxon origin words vs. Latinate. Anglo-Saxon origin words are rougher and heavier in sound, they add weight to a word, but are notably harder to sing and less elegant. Latinate origin words have smoother flowing sounds and are easily sung. While these two words mean the same thing, the Latinate carries connotations of elegance, education, and sophistication (cold, snobby, sadist) which suits Sebastian. The quickest way to differentiate class and vocal tone in English is to use Latinate vs. Anglo-Saxon. (small vs. tiny: same as described)

6. This is a compounding of the original concept/image described in this line. I moved the mention of greed from the first line to here, as it works better as a form of address and reinforces the other concepts. The same goes for the next line.

7. These two words carry the weight of ownership over a task: /Shall/ indicates “determination, obligation, something owed”. It comes from Proto-Indo-European and is the origin of the word “shield, debt, guilt, blame, fault, it is also proper present tense. (formal British). /Will/ indicates wish/desire, to do something, be used, to choose. It is future tense. It comes from Latin word vel “wish”: to satisfy, be stuffed. will/wish synonymous. (These are all archaic and 19th century Sebastian hunger centric words, for that reason this entire song is one of the best Lord/vassal oath ballads I’ve read, in epic poetry.) The last line is unchanged as it is iconic.

8.I felt that there was importance to this already being in English, so I kept it. Monochrome (ancient Greek origin) doesn’t mean the contrast of black/white, it is the opposite, the sameness. It can be any colour but only one colour, of different shades. In photography it means greyscale. But the archaic form is more precise. This metaphor is used to describe moral ambiguity/hypocrisy. Everyone assumes they have higher/different motivations but in reality, the motives are all the same. (especially in the Madame Red arc) Dissonance is conflict, harshness of sounds. I interpreted this verse to mean the resolution of the conflict, everything suddenly becoming clear and audibly silent. The mention of the stage, it’s a nice sophisticated way of saying everything will be resolved in the next act.

9.The English phrase for this concept is “fallen into my lap”. I took inspiration from Nayuta’s grasping upwardly into the air when he sings this, and felt the concept best understood as “fallen into my grasp” meaning to hold unexpected power over something, to gain power unexpectedly.

10. This line about Ciel’s motivation is often the least well understood. The idea that he is seeking revenge out of principle, duty, despite knowing that it won’t bring him or anyone else happiness. My take is that he is fulfilling a duty, satisfaction coming from the idea that no one thought he was capable of anything, yet here he is doing this task. It can be seen/felt as selfish proving yourself this way. This concept comes up a lot in disability discourse.

11./The borders of black and white/ in this context I decided that the concept here referred to ‘mental twilight’ or reason/sanity.This gets referred to a lot in the series. The threads of fate concept I rearranged the lines to give them the alliteration of the original and better narrative order in English and make it singable. Ending lines on n/l or a vowel is a professional tip.

12.The concept of preservation being sung of here, /shielding/ is a synonym for preservation and ties back to the original concept of the vows */shall/ being made. The ripening of the soul I left to subtext as this concept is redundant to the rest.

It’s been a while, but I’ve finally stopped picking at this one. There’s definitely wobbley spots here; Sebs sings so bloody fast for some parts that it’s insane trying to match it. Even “Yes, My Lord” wasn’t this bad and he’s got terminal motormouth for the beginning of that one. Also I rhymed “you” with “you” and it makes me angry. So yeah. If anyone has any suggestions, do tell.

Kuromyu lyrics: “I’ll Be Your Pawn and Your Sword (Reprise)”

More sing-along lyrics! Makes sense to do the reprise next, since I already had most of it, huh? The first half of this is the same as the act-ender version, save for Ciel’s initial stanza being different. But the second half is entirely different, as Sebastian sort of goes off on a tangent. XD

After the first part of the curtain call, once they start again on the “rain” bits, all of their lines seem to be the same, but I did not include them because I haven’t found a base translation for William’s line yet.

I think I’m going to do Madame Red’s song next.

The Contract Seal

Referring to the post from into–the–abyss about the contract seal:

I researched the meaning of the words and its sigils/symbols written in the pentagram. I think it’s pretty interesting, it sounds really familiar.

Abdia: I conjure thee in secret. (Ciel accidentally summons Sebastian; no one knows)

Ballaton: Come forth from thy abode and speak clearly in my speech. (Sebastian speaks English)

Bellony: Put forth thy might and discover unto me the knowledge and power in thy keep. (Ciel uses Sebastian’s power to achieve his goals) Halliy: Answer in the inward silence all of my questions without fail. (Ciel orders Sebastian that he shall never lie) Halliza: Assume and show forth unto me thy form of divine perfection. (Sebastian appears in human form as the perfect butler) Soluzen: Open unto me thy secret door and fulfill me of my purpose. (Sebastian shall help Ciel to obtain his revenge)

In a way, the contract seal visibly holds all the conditions of the contract between Ciel and Sebastian.

There are two main differences between Sebastian’s contract seal and the original pentagram of Solomon:

One is the ring/chain/circle around the pentacle of Sebastian’s seal (that remarkably resembles Undertaker’s scars but that’s another story). It could symbolize the bond/chain between master and servant. And the other is that Sebastian’s seal is turned upside down. Originally, a pentagram with a single point projecting upwards was a Christian symbol for the five senses and protected against evil. Conversely, a reversed pentagram (like Sebastian’s) is associated with evil and occultism.

So what could this mean? The way the contract works in both stories (Solomon’s and Kuro) is pretty similar. The master who holds the contract has power over the demon. Therefore, both seals look almost alike. In the story of Solomon the demon was forced into servitude by the boy who threw the ring (that had been given to Solomon after he had prayed to God) at him. In Kuro, however, Sebastian appeared of his own will after Ciel had lost faith in God and practically forced Ciel to make a contract with him (seeing that Ciel had no other choice (than death) at this point). Maybe this difference is symbolized by the reversed pentagram.

When Echo joined the batch, he expected a lot of things. The differences between his new vods, their abilities, their usual habits, hobbies, weird porn preferences…anything. Anything really. After spending so much time on the 501st, he was more than used to weirdness.

He stared at the eggs on one of the bunks, they seemed to be in a nest made from ripped blacks and a blanket. His frown in pure confusion. He knew it was an omega tradition to make nests but…wasn’t it just for when they were in heat or expecting? Besides what was one doing here? And…with eggs that size? He didn’t even knew an animal that had eggs like that. What??“

Echo and Omega rescue a cat who turns out to be preggers, and they have to convince Hunter to keep her.

In the months following their escape from Kamino, Hunter had learned to expect the unexpected; something he would have thought himself well versed in already, as a soldier trained to adapt and survive in scenarios where a split second's decision could be the difference between life and death, and not just for yourself.

"Please?" Omega asks, as Hunter stares in disbelief down at her pleading, earnest brown eyes.

He's not sure what shocks him more; the fact he can hear several tiny, fluttering heartbeats that beat rapidly beneath the pace of the likewise accelerated, stronger vibrations of the two people before him... Or that his initial gut-reaction is to say "Yes, of course."

He wasn't terribly surprised by Omega being the source of shock for him today, but to have Echo standing beside her, a hand on the kid's shoulder, hovering protectively over both the child and the large, furry cat that has settled herself comfortably in the cradle of Omega's curled arms, has him reeling.

Two pairs of pleading eyes stare at him imploringly.

Hunter puts a hand to his head, still momentarily speechless. It's too early in the morning for this. How did they even find..? Not important. Not for now, anyways. He runs a hand down his face.

He blinks one eye open to stare at Echo when the man's heartrate suddenly speeds up.

"At least until she has the... Y'know," Echo falters, gesturing with his scomp-arm in a soft whirr of moving parts, belaying his hopefulness.

Hunter follows his gaze to the large, happily swollen belly of the long-haired loaf of silky fur. She blinks serene, crystaline blue eyes at him, then purrs once, a brief, short sound.

The vibration makes Hunter blink, remembering a hazy memory from last night, when he thought he heard rumbling in his sleep, but everything was too peaceful to...

Ah. So that's when they found the cat.

All three of them look -- four, counting the cat -- to the doorway of the Havoc Marauder's entry ramp as Tech enters the ship, staring down at his datapad.

"There is bad weather forcast for the next fortnight," he says without preamble. "This planet's monsoon season is setting in and the feline's nest of origin was not located in a safe area. I predict that she was someone's former pet, either abandoned or cast away, perhaps due to her gravid condition," he says in his absent-minded, factual way.

"You, too?" Hunter asks dryly, wondering just how they managed to sneak outside at night without waking him. "Where was she?"

"In a drain pipe located east of the well we have been using to supply our clean drinking water an--"

"Awww c'mon, just say yes!" Wrecker interrupts, rolling over in his bunk abruptly. "She's cute and fuzzy and she makes the kid happy."

Hunter's eyes slant to the side and upwards as he turns at the hip, narrowing his eyes at the soft stutter of someone else's heartrate.

"She's tidy," Crosshair comments, somehow knowing Hunter's attention is on him.

"And how would you know that?" Hunter wonders.

"Because there's already a litter box by the gunner access, these idiots were going to make her walk outside."

Hunter looks at his wrist to check his vambra--

The sight of his alarm-clock setting turned to inactive status has him do a double-take at the time. Shocked, he looks towards the suddenly rapid heartbeat who is responsible for the act.

Her grin is as unapologetic as her cleverness.

Omega's laughs echo down the hull of the ship as Hunter sits on the ramp, knees bent, elbows draped across them and hands hanging down.

"You're trying to look grumpy, and it's not working," Echo comments as his soft footsteps stroll down the metal. His limbs make a quiet whirr and clinking sound as the soldier sits.

"Hard to be mad when she's smiling like that," Hunter says honestly, allowing a small twitch to his lips. He sighs. "I hope you're not going to ask me to keep all of them. You know we--"

"Of course not," Echo assures him. But that smile on his face does nothing to ease Hunter's mind as he promptly continues, "Just the momma. Omega named her--"

"Jasmine," Hunter says with a sigh.

"Hunter! Hunter, look!" Omega suddenly cries, her voice shrill with excitement.

He's never told her, because it makes him so dang happy to hear the kid so excited, but her voice really hurts at some decibles.

"What is it?" he wonders. He's about to stand up to oblige, when he hears the pitter-patter of rapid footfalls down the ship, Omega's heart fluttering like a butterfly as she slows down, then carefully approaches him.

Twisted at the waist, Hunter's eyes widen a bit when he spots the small ball of fluff the kid is holding. Tiny blue eyes are just barely peeking out from between sticky eyelids.

"Aww, his eyes are opening," Echo coos adoringly. It's strange and pleasant to hear the soldier's voice so warm and softened, and Hunter can't stop a smile at his brother's own smile sitting so easily on pale, hollow features.

Hunter's brothers might think he caved for Omega's sake, but if he's being honest... It was the look on Echo's face that had him accepting the fate of yet another mouth to feed; and for at least a little while, several more. Echo hid his anxieties well, but there was no hiding them from Hunter's sharp senses.

If the cat made his brother sleep soundly at night, purring on his chest or curling up around his head, Hunter was glad for it. The anxiety meds the GAR had once provided were no longer an option to them.

"Cute," Hunter comments on the little kitten, then sucks in a startled breath when the tiny baby is suddenly thrust into his hands, Omega blissfully ignorant to Hunter's immediate distress.

"I, uh--"

"Awww, c'mon, you haven't held any of them," Echo encourages, throwing a smirk his way. "Afraid to lose your heart?" he taunts.

No, definitely not, but the little creature looks far more appropriate in Omega's gentle, delicate, tiny hands--

He stares down, wide-eyed, at the little black ball of fuzz. Hair sticks up every-which-way, unevenly tufted as the long hair grows in, its little tail curling around Hunter's wrist. Squinty eyes stare blearily around at wherever it's head ends up pointing, the muscles not yet developed enough to give the kitten any grace in movement.

It looks so small and fragile in his large, calloused hands.

"You look like you just got handed a live grenade," Echo comments with amusement. "Hey! Tech, grab the holopad--"

"No!" Hunter snaps, shooting him a glare, alarmed to feel his ears get warm. He doesn't need them snapping pictures of--

"Already done," Tech's dry voice informs them absently, as he steps into view tapping a few buttons on his vambrace. Their goggled brother picks a holopad off an ammunition's chest. Hunter had noticed it there before, but hadn't thought anything of it.

As he stares at Tech's small smile while his brother examines the screen, he rolls his eyes.

Unbelievable.

Omega looks cheeky. Hunter takes a moment to appreciate her wit and cleverness, because he has no doubt this strategy was probably the kid's idea, or at least the idea's origin point.

"I think you should, uh, take it back to its mom," he suggests, looking back down at the creature a split second before the tiny rush of air in its throat explodes out of its mouth as a tiny, high-pitched mewl.

The kitten's wide eyes stare up at him, fierce and angry and needy and so blue.

"Awwww he sees you!" Omega coos, already carefully scooping her slender fingers under the kitten's body and hind legs, supporting its weight carefully as she lifts the wee one up and away, hugging him protectively to her chest. "Don't worry, he's just crying because he wants more snuggles, he gets cold easily. He's like Crosshair was as a baby, always needy," she says in a conspiratorial stage-whisper.

Hunter smiles bittersweet at the memories her comment provokes, but chooses to settle on the good that Omega has highlighted.

"It's a shame we can't name him," she says sadly.

Hunter blinks at her, looking down at the kitten.

"Why not?" he wonders. Omega looks up at him, startled, as Hunter thinks of what name might suit those bright, fiery eyes and squeaky little meow. "Call him Gizmo."

He completely misses Echo's startled glance.

Omega's smile slowly stretches all the way across her face as she beams brightly up at him, and Hunter wonders faintly what memo he just missed.

She runs off to return the month-old kitten just as he opens his mouth to speak, so he directs his question to Echo.

"What? Is it a weird name?" he asks, baffled. If the Kaminoan's could assign them numbers as names at birth, then he didn't see why the kittens had to wait to earn a better one.

Echo looks at him like he should know exactly what he'd just done, one eyebrow raised.

"What?" Hunter repeats, his own heartbeat starting to pick up.

Echo just shakes his head at him, while Tech has been just staring at the whole interaction with raised brows.

Three months later, and they have rehomed six out of the seven kittens from Jasmine's litter to familys Omega and her brothers scoped out in town.

As the Havoc Marauder takes flight for its next destination, Hunter sighs, shaking his head at Echo, who sits in the pilot's seat with a purring feline comfortably napping.

He turns his head at the soft pad of feet, and can't stop the smile when Gizmo hops up onto his lap, and lays down.

Eyes are on him, but he doesn't care. Once that little purring rumble starts, Hunter's heart melts, and he quietly pets the silky fur as the brilliant streaks of hyperspace jump into being around them.
