Windy Night
Eyes of the forest. Aspen trees
I rewrote the lyrics to A Day In Life by the Beatles from a modern day lens when Trump got elected in November, and thought today would be a proper day to share it. Got my good friend @larrybarnesmusic to play it with me.
I could talk about all the ways this is scary and upsetting, but at the end of that day, I think all that's important right now is to be here for one another. Hug your friends today, and take care of yourself.
Made my yearly book review blog post. If you are looking for any book recs, check it out!
The Shape of Ideas
can’t focus on work. can only think of that one lesbian poem about chivalry
the existence of "maybe", "perhaps", "perchance", and "mayhaps" suggests there should also be "maychance" and "perbe"
made this with a friend last night. poetry (and ai) unites!
Chai tea bag + lil but of brown sugar + apple cider packet + 16 oz. mug of hot but not quite boiling water
it will not Fix You but like. maybe. maybe.

I wrote this haiku just looking around my room.
I used Picsart for the first time with this one, and was so intrigued by the eerie nature of this head-less figure that emerged from the haiku prompt, paired with the joyful nature of everything around it.

inspired by a guy walking by on the street. no, he was not surrounded by balloons. but ai thought he was and i think that's nice.
the last of the eclipse haikus. from 4/8/24. clearly this day was very inspiring to me.
this is the first image i've created with deep dream generator. i like it so far! it took a few generations to get to this one but i like how it turned out.

i wrote this one on a trip to see the solar eclipse this year. we were driving down the highway to get to the spot we had traveled so far to arrive at. to experience a miraculous three minutes and thirty-eight seconds. i felt like i could feel the anticipation in everything, even the other cars around us.
thanks for the artistic help with this one @cj-sass

Rainbow Axolotls (2023)
Acrylic paints on 11" x 14" wood panel. The one on the top is an example of the "wild-type" coloration, and the bottom one is supposed to be the albino coloration (obviously with a rainbow overtop!)
The axolotl (Ambystoma mexicanum) is a fully aquatic salamander closely related to the tiger salamander. They are critically endangered in the wild, with most of the population existing in captivity. The axolotl is native only to the freshwater of Lake Xochimilco in Mexico. They are popular in the pet trade and also for use as laboratory animals. They are an excellent example of neotony, where the animal reaches adulthood while retaining juvenile characteristics. In the case of the Axolotl, they retain their gills, which most salamander species lose upon becoming adults.

indoor ocean, 4/3/24
this piece was inspired by a conversation I had with a kid. we were playing with some wooden toy fish and we spilled the whole box of them on the floor, and then he told me that the carpet was the ocean. i loved that imaginative moment. i've been in a few conversations about tapping into your inner child recently, and i myself have been trying to grasp onto more moments of imagination like we had so freely as children.
okay, but for real, this is my fav AI art piece that I've ever gotten from my haikus. gotta love the wombo dream app.
A haiku about feeling addicted to my phone from 4/3/24
well-slept ignorance, from 4/1/24
i've been reading the sandman comics, so this haiku was inspired by that, and also by a particularly good night of sleep i got.
i used artbreeder for the first time today to make this one. it's interesting playing with some new programs.
