I have had guests non-stop for the past month, for the past week it's been very close girlfriends staying with me. Early this morning we had this exchange:
Her: what are you doing up so early?
me: research for a story I'm writing.
Her: (looking over my shoulder) Wow, that guy's built like a house.
me: (very quietly) Yeah.
Her: (eyes going glassy) A nice house!
I seriously just spent 20 minutes just staring at this in awe. WOW!

OK, just goes to show where my head is at, at first glance I thought that Loki was in a sulk or a strop and Thor was comforting him. Then I realized that Thor was 'comforting' him. Whew.

Korean artist Yong Ho Ji makes amazing sculptures out of used tires.
This was on display at the Fairmont Bab al Bahr right here in Abu Dhabi...the coolest thing is that it is 'life size' for a Minotaur...about 8 feet tall.

Queen’s Gambit. I decided to keep the cover of Boden’s Mate so as to preserve continuity. I did change the chesspiece to a queen, from the same set on Clker as that of the bishop.
The Waking of the Red King. The coin is a black and white copy of the Czech Prague New Town gold coin, featuring Charles IV.
the western shore: I made a cover for the first story in the series, so why not the sequel? :D Again, I used images from Clker. The axe may not be accurate for the time period and/or culture. I’ve since changed this slightly.

Awesome. That is exactly what I was going for...that Thor is more than ready to turn the world upside down. In that scene, I was trying to give the sense that they were actually talking at cross-purposes...simply because the giants didn't expect anyone to be as physically brave as Thor. They don't quite get it at first blush, they're using the negotiating technique (offering something truly awful in hopes of getting someone to accept a different kind of awful) that's worked for them before...and they don't understand that Thor is like: rape me, maim me terribly, whatevs, so long as you can do what you say. I'm a big boy, I can take it.

Chapters will come more frequently now that I am back home from the road. This chapter was also particularly horrible. I think it's all there in the title. Warning: this is not the pleasant part of the hero's journey.

This is where you find the Norse mythology books in NYC's Strand bookstore. Right next to 'Erotica'.
Alright, first things first, WARNINGS, in various combinations: possible spoilers, slavery, racial slurs, war, Holocaust references, implied underage, implied incest, intoxication, underage drinking.
Problem: want to create something, but don’t feel like drawing. Solution: make mock book designs of favourite fanfics for type practice. Consider this to be the cousin of this series. Typography isn’t my forte, but hopefully there shouldn’t be too many atrocious choices made there. Do drop a note if that isn’t the case OTL In retrospect, most of these would probably not make very good covers because they’re on the understated side, but then again, I wouldn’t want curious visitors going through my bookshelves to get too curious either.

So Schaudwen suggested I read The Song Unsung by khaleesian and I had some doubts but like with most things Thorki I have fallen in love with it.
This is from one of my favorite scenes; protective Thor is hilarious.
Everyone go read it! It’s one of the best fics in the fandom, hands down.
