And this is how I lost my mind. What about it is from Oda's and Mori's pov
So the Beast movie account just tweeted about Asagiri Sensei releasing a new story as benefit for the movie
“The day I picked up Osamu Dazai” and my first thought was it being about Mori finding and bringing Dazai to the PM but look at the images
That’s Dazai and Oda’s names and abilities.
Dare I hope it’s actually the story of how they met?
So everyone can be prepared...
is it true that side b takes place in beast?
You know, it’s called side “B” for a reason.
about the last part (4A) of the novel, when dazai says mori gave him a injection, it was meant to us to interpret like a vaccine maybe?
Yeah, it should be understood as a normal injection.
Dazai hurts himself all the time so I’m not surprised that Mori, as a doctor, has to give him shots sometimes to treat him.
So true
Just some thoughts on the new chapter!!
I, personally, have been a fan of the vampire outbreak — it’s just fun and bizarre, which caused my love of BSD in the first place. The last few chapters of the prison break with Dazai v Fyodor and Aya and Bram have been very exciting to follow, and I love the step up we have now.
Chuuya being the intruder was unexpected (at least for me— I just assumed it was Gogol) and to make matters worse, he’s a vampire! Him becoming a vampire isn’t really a “plot hole” for me because, even though he’s strong, he still has vulnerabilities (like diving head first into Ranpos trap during cannibalism). To me, all it would take for Chuuya to be bitten is someone he trusts, like Akutagawa, getting close enough :/
I’m super excited for these teams. Dazai and Sigma has such a fun dynamic (hoping Sigma sticks around for more?!) and I think this sets up Sigma as perhaps a more central character going forward. Admittedly, it took a while for me to warm up to him, but I’m v attached now :)
Next, Chuuya and Fyodor will be a force to recon with. To me, vampire Chuuya and Fyodor represent a harsher version of the alliance between Chuuya and Dazai. I will probably elaborate more in a separate post, but the dynamic has the same undertones of a weapon used by a mastermind.
Chuuya VS Dazai will be so interesting. I am not an SKK shipper at all (I’m in the camp that believes they actually don’t like each other much), but their relationship is well done. I think this fight will provide some good material for analysis :D
And always Aya is so cute!!
Dazai is 22 y/o and Kouyou is 26 y/o so their age difference is 4 years. Her attempt to leave the mafia was when she was at kyouka's age so it was when she was 14 and Dazai was 10 at that time. What I want to say is : How did he know about the incident?
A) He already involved in mafia and underground so he knew almost everything about mafia. I'm lowkey saying that maybe he is the former mafia boss's son. *cough cough* Or someone similar to that. Seriously, he was 9 and small 🥺
B) He just know it from mori as he was mori's protègè. Mori told him about kouyou and all.
This is just one of the random things I noticed when I read the manga. Already noticed it long ago tho 😅 I know what I'm saying maybe wrong but I just want to say it.
After reading the latest manga chapter, I'm wondering... Do you think Dazai foresaw all possible outcomes of the current event, took a photo and then gave it to Ango so that he could extract the memories out of it with his ability? Is that the reason the "ghost" of Dazai appeared to tell him when to lie?
Either way, we still gonna suffer
After seeing that the first sentence of side A of the light novel The Day I Picked Up Dazai--which mentions something about "a bloody corpse of a boy" appearing on someone's doorstep--I am fully convinced it's from Mori's pov
I enjoy the idea that one side might be from Oda's pov, but it I don't think it'll be side A (since why would Dazai just go to the doorstep of a lower mafia member if he didn't even know them prior? Ofc, he probably would have known OF Oda, but I doubt their first interaction was just...him appearing on Oda's doorstep.)
Now if it was before he joined the mafia, it's more believable that he'd just appear on Mori's porch, having known him or not, since he likely wouldn't have anything to lose.
Side Theory that I might as well mention even though it's so damn unlikely: what if Side B is from Dazai's pov? Obviously, it likely won't show his thoughts, but maybe while side A shows Mori's first impression of him, side B will show what caused Dazai to end up on his porch in the first place?
(Tweet that translated the first line)
Why do I get the feeling that neither of them (Dazai & Fyodor) will die. Instead, it will be another person lowkey thought it's either nikolai or sigma but nvm. That smug face and chuckle are like saying "what a duel u have there". While having something else in their mind cause you know they are a demon and a demon prodigy. And Dazai's mocking of Fyodor's friends and he just agreed in the same mocking way.
I do think that maybe one of them will die like Dazai said. But thinking back, they are both geniuses (like in another level). And they are similar to one another, they can predict each other's actions like if it's me, I'll do this or that. So I think that's rather impossible for them to kill each other. They will have another plan come up.
Or if they both have something against one another, they might kill or at least an actual duel. It's okay for either of them to die (Dazai especially), I guess? For the plot. But for the victory of the ADA, Dazai have to live. And I think Fukuchi's death is incoming. Fyodor won't be happy of the situation 😅
But the person who I want doom to come to him the most is
This grandfather here...

It's that Dazai know who is it just by seeing the situation 😭 precious indeed
