"I Wanted Movement And Not A Calm Course Of Existence. I Wanted Excitement And Danger And The Chance

"I wanted movement and not a calm course of existence. I wanted excitement and danger and the chance to sacrifice myself for my love. I felt myself in a superabundance of energy, which found no outlet in our quiet life."

-Leo Tolstoy, "Family Happiness"

Just finished The Great Gatsby, and the ending made me so depressed. Gatsby wasn't my favorite, but just thinking about how no one mourned the image of himself he created as a person. Jay Gatsby was only mourned for his material values. One person only called for a pair of shoes. However, Jim Gatsby was mourned the smallest bit by his father. Jim Gatsby was someone's son, and Jay had no parents, for he created himself. Jim was remembered for his childhood and mourned for that, and Jay was mourned for the house he bought Jim's parents. Jim was the death of a human, and Jay was the death of prosperity and riches. In my head, they are two different people in the same body.

I'm currently reading "Turtles All the Way Down" by John Green. I put it off for a while, but here I am! I'm a bit excited because I have anxiety, so I'm hoping to see if I relate to some of this book. Tell me your thoughts about it (but try not to spoil, please)!!

Gang, why haven't I been seeing a lot of people talking about the fact that Nicos first true friends where REYNA and COACH HEDGE?? Of course, Jason was the first to know Nicos secrets. However, Nico left before further development happened to shadow travel.

Renya and coach Hedge were the first true people who told Nico their secrets, and when they finally found out about his, he actually felt safe in a way. He wasn't angry because he didn't feel that they were judging him. He felt their concern for him. They showed him true care and acceptance

Anyways, this is why I love these three, and Coach Hedge is so silly father vibes.
