Ignore the horse. That was part of something else.

Some studies of bridges with arches that cast shadows to form complete circles. I'm thinking of a way to make another ambigram out of this, but for now they're just regular drawings that go one way up.

Watercolour isn't really the medium I think suits this parrot/toucan ambigram, but I felt like using watercolour today so here's the finished result. The cherries/mushrooms were doodles I had in my sketchbook that I've finally found a use for.

I have already picked a favourite, but I wanted to show off the different designs I tried out for my ambigram birds. I needed both characters to be recognisable and also have personality, which is tricky when they are the same drawing.

A toucan that looks like a parrot upside down (or vice versa).

Thank goodness for tracing paper, although I am considering moving my ambigrams to something digital if it makes them easier to replicate rotated, which I will have to do if I follow through on my ideas to make a reversible comic strip.
