Because it does make sense — imagine writing a letter to your best friend and signing it easily with love, and then writing a letter to your girlfriend, and you freeze. You’re stuck. It’s supposed to be just as easy, but suddenly it’s not, and you’re forced to confront something. What do you do? Hide the ones that hold a secret and send the one that makes sense to the world! I wanna talk about the scene with will crying in the van next to mike, cause everyone's hating on mike saying that he didn't even notice him sobbing one foot away from him. however I think he did notice but chose to ignore it. I mean put yourself in mike's shoes you're a repressed gay with a shitload of internalized homophobia and your best friend who you have a crush on just gave you a whole speech about how much your girlfriend needs you, then said best friend starts crying. I can think of two (2) reasons that mike might come up with as to why will's crying.

1.will either likes him or el 2.he really fucking hates the painting he just gave you

and idk about you but the first one seems to make WAY more sense than the second one. Once again put yourself in mike's shoes, the most plausible reason why you're male crush that you're not supposed to like is crying is cause he either likes you back or likes your girlfriend, would you really want to ask him what's wrong?
