I need some advice. Outing myself a bit here, but im a trans guy who is finally getting out from under my parents. Going into this US election, my dad is going to vote for Trump again, along with a large portion of his family. I came out to them more than a year ago, but they have decided not to respect my chosen name, opting to use my dead name instead. They have made it blatantly clear they dont support my transition, but also cant do anything to stop it.
And yet despite how much they've hurt me I still love them. I miss traveling with them, and going to gaming conventions. I miss just hanging out and watching shows with them. I really dont know what to do in this situation. Every time I interact with them my mental health gets worse. I've thought about going no contact, but without them I dont know what I would do. Not to mention some of my supportive family members probably wouldnt talk to me anymore if I did that.
Anyone out there actually manage to change their parents minds to be supportive of their transition? Or any thoughts or advice would be great, im just at a loss of what to do at this point.

i really don’t love doing this but i’m a trans neurodivergent person and i’ve been unemployed for the last month (after 3 months i was told the job wasn’t a good fit for me after being told i didn’t need to worry) and i’m now in the negative.
if anyone can help even just with getting this out there while i keep looking for new work. and i post this knowing there are people who are in far more dire need that i am at this moment. still, even if you just reblog this it will mean a lot.

flipping the tables at the temple is a crucial part of the run, but obviously every npc in the area will aggro on you as soon as you do it, which is a problem because the crucifixion exploit only works on a pacifist run. that's why we picked up those cords from the leatherworker earlier in the chapter. we can craft those into a whip and drive out the merchants, as long as we don't accidentally kill one of them. this is the only weapon in the game that doesn't proc the "violence" effect due to an oversight in the code, so this will essentially allow us to complete the tableflip glitch without breaking our pacifist run. once every table is flipped, the physics engine won't know how to handle it and some key values will be altered that will later allow us to clip through golgotha directly into hell-

The year is 2006 - I've just finished school for the summer holidays and am looking for something to fill my time. I am recommended by a friend a show called Supernatural as it's "pretty decent action horror" and it piques my interest. There's a whole four seasons of it available, so plenty to fill my time. I watch it through in a few weeks and enjoy it a medium amount, but not enough to keep up with future seasons, and I assume it ends not too long after that, as it feels like it's really running out of stories to tell.
The year is 2013 - I discover the show is still going somehow, and that things have gotten weird. I decide not to bother catching up, as nobody actually seems to think it's good, despite how intense they are about it.
The years are 2018-present - I am fully vindicated in my decision.

I just make my messed-up grotesqueries for my little horror stories and assume someone out there probably wants to fuck them and that's fine. Me trying to stop them would be just be a waste of everybody's time, so I just wish them godspeed and go add some more pus to Mr Bonzo's stitches.

i'm begging you guys to start pirating shit from streaming platforms. there are so many websites where you can stream that shit for free, here's a quick HOW TO:
1) Search for: watch TITLE OF WORK free online
2) Scroll to the bottom of results. Click any of the "Complaint" links
3) You will be taken to a long list of links that were removed for copyright infringement. Use the 'find' function to search for the name of the show/movie you were originally searching for. You will get something like this (specifics removed because if you love an illegal streaming site you don't post its url on social media)
4) each of these links is to a website where you can stream shit for free. go to the individual websites and search for your show/movie. you might have to copy-paste a few before you find exactly what you're looking, but the whole process only takes a minute. the speed/quality is usually the same as on netflix/whatever, and they even have subtitles! (make sure to use an adblocker though, these sites are funded by annoying popups)
In conclusion, if you do this often enough you will start recognizing the most dependable websites, and you can just bookmark those instead. (note: this is completely separate from torrenting, which is also a beautiful thing but requires different software and a vpn)
you can also download the media in question (look for a "download" button built into the video window, or use a browser extension such as Video DownloadHelper.)

okay i just read an INCREDIBLE apocalyptic/supernatural/religious horror novel with a trans gay male protagonist and incredible portrayals of religious trauma, body horror, and reclamation of your identity being seen as like, screwed up and disgusting. i know this isn’t the kind of thing you usually post about but it’s such a good damn book i had to recommend it. it’s called Hell Followed With Us by andrew joseph white. it made me sob at so many parts and it depicts found family queerness so well and has a canon autistic character and AUUUUHHHHHH it’s so good. if anyone wants to read it there’s a copy up on OceanOfPdf !!

Halloween is the perfect time to read the incredible works of Emily Carroll, my absolute favorite horror cartoonist and storyteller. You can read many of her works free on her website!
I especially love His Face All Red, The Groom, The Hole the Fox Did Make, and Out of Skin.
I cannot over-recommend Carroll’s short story collection Through the Woods, which is one of the best works of fiction (horror or otherwise) I’ve ever read. If you can, get a copy from your local library or bookstore!
Got to go, it’s Halloween and I’m spending my evening sitting in the dark, drinking hot chocolate, re-reading these spooky comics while the wind rattles at the windows.

I cannot believe how many peiple do not know this. So! I am going to educate people.
Every time the Earth orbits around the Sun, that is one year. Hopefully everyone knows that. But, the Earth turns on a tilt from its orbit. That tilt causes the sun to shine differently on the planet at different times of the year, which causes the seasons. This is why when it is Winter in the Northern Hemisphere, it is Summer in the Southern Hemisphere.
This also means that there will be longest and shortest days of the year, which are called Solstices, and times when the day and night will be equal, called Equinoxes. Astrologically, the seasons start at those dates. However, those do not line up with a calendar nicely at all.
I also personally question why we do it that way, rather than the half way points between the equinox and solstice, as that would line up much better with what we think of the seasons, and would put it on the first of months.
Spring would start February 1st, Summer would start May 1st, Fall would start August 1st, and winter would start November 1st. But I digress

International Trans Day of Visibility
Today we are spotlighting a few of the books from our LGBTQ+ Collection that highlight trans lives and issues. Check out the photo captions to find out what books the images came from.
International Transgender Day of Visibility was created in 2009 by therapist and transgender activist Rachel Crandall Crocker, partially as counterweight to Trans Day of Remembrance, a day of memoriam for all those lost to transgender violence. Crocker wanted “a day that we can just celebrate being ourselves.” More recently, Crocker spoke about the double-edge sword of visibility for trans folks, and called on allies of trans people to make themselves more visible. So for all the cis people reading this, think hard about how you are going to show up for the trans community today, and every day.
