Some silly cat doodles/studies. Say hi to Simon (plus Jace.) I think he wonāt bite <33
Long story short, Jace isnāt the most social person(?), so they made friends with an alley of stray cats near their apartment. They typically go there to feed and have a smoke break with them. They particularly grew close with Simon, and he started following them around, even going as far as following them to work. Jace tried shooing him away at first, but essentially gave up and now heās a stupid goofy little side ācharacterā that help them through thick and thin š
Real chapter 4 lol
(Mild cursing)
It was quiet in the sewers today. There wasn't the usual sound of clamoring pipes or the rush of filthy water trickling down to the floor. It was just quiet, too quiet some would say.
All of a sudden, a deafening and annoying laugh echoed throughout the sewers, breaking the silent tranquility that only lasted for a bit. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHhhhhhhh, YOU SHOULDEVE SEEN THE LOOK ON HIS FACE!" A person laughed while shoving a woman beside them against the sewers wall. "Will you SHUT UP SAGE? You're gonna cause another cave in!" The woman scolded sage while gaining back her balance. Sage rolled her eyes at the woman "finee whatever. Forgot you were a buzzkill." Sage scoffed and kept walking down the sewer hall with the woman.
Sage was shorter than the woman and had short and frazzled hair. their most distinct feature about them was the multi-colored goggles that they wore on their head and a prosthetic arm that used to belong to a handyman. They wore torn-up clothes and pants that were too big for them, the only thing that kept them up was a piece of rope and their loose belt that held rusty tools on it.
The woman on the other hand had long and straight hair that fell to her shoulders. She wore a white collared shirt and black pants that fell to her ankles, the only distinct thing about her was her face which had a scar that ran across from her forehead to her cheek.
"Let's just hurry up and finish our job." The woman mumbled and pulled out a small light bulb from her pocket. "Fine." Sage pouted and also pulled out a hand full of tiny light bulbs. The woman rolled her eyes and propped up a step stool near the rounded and cracked wall of the sewer.
The two changed the lights that were strung up on the top of the sewer halls. "Does it have to be the rainbow ones?" The woman asked Sage while screwing off a broken bulb, "Well, we don't want newcomers to be scared of how the tunnels look down here." Sage responded as they handed the woman another bulb. As they were changing bulbs they heard a noise from above. They heard what seemed to be footsteps from the shed above. the woman looked at the ladder which led to the manhole above and looked back at sage. "It's probably just Felicity." Sage scoffed and went back to work, the woman on the other hand kept her gaze at the entrance.
She then stepped off the step stool and grabbed it. Sage looked at the woman with confusion. "What's wrong Sandra?" Sage asked while coming up behind her. Sandra crept towards the manhole above while Sage followed behind. "I don't think it's Felicity. I heard multiple voices." Sandra whispered back at Sage. The manhole above then came off revealing a bright spotlight from above. Sandra then held the stool like a weapon and held her ground, Sage on the other hand hid behind Sandra with a hammer in hand from her toolbelt.
Then something fell from above, crashing onto the floor and splashing filthy water everywhere. The thing grunted and struggled to get up, Sandra and Sage were startled and were prepared to fight the figure. "WAIT!" The figure yelled and reached for the light switch, they revealed themselves to the two. Sandra then realized who they were and dropped the stool she was holding. "Maria? Holy shit I'm so sorry." Sandra apologized and ran to go help her.
Maria was helped up by the two, "Sandra, Sage, thank God you guys are here." She said, her voice was shaky and she was breathing heavily. Maria was noticeably anxious. "I-i think he's gonna search our house." Maria started hyperventilating making the two wonder what the situation was and tried to calm her down. "Woah woah Mari! What happened up there?" Sage asked while helping Maria sit down on the edge of the sewers walkway where there wasn't as much water. Sandra then looked up at the manhole opening and looked back at maria, "what do you mean by he? Who are you talking about." Sandra asked Maria while Sage tried to confort her. Maria then looks at Sandra with pure fear and grips the ground. "The... the friendly shadow is here. I don't know how they know about our location." Maria stuttered looking straight down at the floor.
Sandra and Sage look at each other in disbelief then look back at maria. "Okay...okay... uh." Sandra mumbled while tapping her foot on the wet cement. "Okay, Maria I need you to- Sage what the hell."
"PFFTT- I'm so sorry- WHAT HAHAHAHAHA- you're talking about that one dude from tv? He exists - that's HILLARIOUS. HAHAHHAAHA, haha...ha?" Sage blurted out to the two, breaking the tension, leaving an awkward aftermath. Sandra looked at Sage with pure disappointment. "Yes....he does exist... but THAT'S NOT THE POINT DUMBASS," Sandra yelled at Sage, making them retaliate back to the sewer wall. Sandra sighed and became calm again, "Okay. Maria, I need you to go inform Charles and the others." Maria nodded but paused for a bit. She then broke her silence "I will... but what are you and sage gonna do?"
The tunnel became quiet again for a brief moment. Sandra looked at the entrance above and walked toward the ladder, she basked in the dim light from above highlighting her scar and her eyes. Sandra then sighed and looks back at the two with a serious expression, "I will kill him." Sandra proclaimed to the two. She then turned back to the ladder, getting ready to climb it. "Sandra wait." Sage halted her before she could even put her foot on one of the bars. "What the fuck is Charles gonna say about this. You know that-"
"Charles is too soft sage. We need to do what needs to be done. We can't have another problem like last time."
"But Sandra," Sage argued and stood their ground, "Sandra, what if Charles gets angry that you killed him? Or worse, what if he survives." They continued their argument and grabbed Sandra's shoulder. There was a long pause between the two as Maria stood up behind them. "We can't go in blind Sandra." Sage argued and their tone began to become more defiant and louder, "But we can't wait any longer. We only have so much time before the friendly shadow finds out about us!" Sandra countered and her voice became louder in return. Sage then gripped her metal arm, "Yeah yeah I get it, you also lead this rebellion. But that does not mean that you're entitled to make every decision on your own!" The two then met eye-to-eye. They both scowled at each other trying to assert dominance before Maria broke their tension.
"Hey, we don't have enough time for you two to argue, There's a big matter at hand right now." She said while pulling the two away from each other. "I'll go inform Charles about the arrival of the friendly shadow." Maria continued while letting go of the two. "We're gonna try and figure out a way to get shadow out of here." Sage responded as they reached for the ladder.
"No." Sandra barked and pulled Sage away from the ladder. "The hell you mean no? You're not my mother Sandra." Sage protested and tried to reach back to the ladder. Sandra jumped in front of her and started to climb the ladder. "Hey! Ugh, asshole." Sage argued while falling back a little into Maria's arms. Sandra climbed the ladder and reached the entrance to manhole. She then crawled through and entered the shed. Sandra then stood up and started to drag the cover over the hole. Sage then gained their balance and looked up from the entrance of the hole meeting eye to eye with sandra from above.
"Fucking dumbass! You don't even know what you're doing! You don't even know how to kill a robo-" Sandra cut off sages yelling by putting the cover back on the hole. She stood up and looked around the beaten and broken-down shed. "It's been a while since I've been up here." She thought to herself as she grabbed a dirty sheet of fabric and draped it over the manhole.
Mr felicity sat down on his couch anxiously fidgeting with his hands. He looked around his living room and tried to avoid any eye contact with the friendly shadow who sat in front of him. Shadow took note of his anxiety and started with a friendly question to start with "I love how you decorated your living room." He smiled and looked around the room. "Oh, yeah uh. Mhm yes... lovely isn't it..." Mr. Felicity responded as his voice cracked.
The walls were painted a grayish blue and there were many photos of Mr Felicity's family and many paintings of landscapes hung up on the wall. The couch that Mr felicity sat on was a muted yellow. In fact, most of the furniture in his home was that shade of yellow from the couch to small decorations. The only other shades were a dark brown grandfather clock that sat in the corner of the living room and a light green plant that sat in the other corner.
"I just have a few questions for you, sir. that's all," Shadow said and sat up in his uncomfy metal folding chair. Mr felicity adjusted his mask and nodded while visibly shaking in his seat. "Be more friendly, we want true answers from him. Don't we?" Hive encouraged shadow on the intercom inside his head. Shadow then nods to himself and takes off his coat revealing his metal arms and his body. He places his coat on his lap and adjusts the tie on his suit. "What are you doing? I said to be more friendly, not take off your coat!" Hive argued on the intercom, shadow couldn't respond to her so he simply just tried to ignore her complaints.
"Oh, I've never seen you without your coat on sir," Felicity said and his shaking became more tame. "You look more...human? I'm not sure if that's the word." He continued becoming calmer with his tone. Shadow looked surprised at Felicity's comment and even cracked a smile at it too. "Ah! Sorry was that offensive? I mean I didn't mean anything bad, I just was- well- I'm sorry if that was offensive."
Shadow then chuckled under his breath, "Oh no, it's okay I'm not offended." Shadow prepared to say something else when Hive interrupted his train of thought "Oh shadow, you're not here to make friends, are you?" she said in a degrading manner, almost like an owner telling their pet what to do. Shadow's face said it all. He frowned a little and sat up straight again. Shadow then cleared his throat and looked at Felicity. "sorry, we got off track." Mr. Felicity sighed and began to fidget with his hands again. "so...what we're the ehm, the questions." he continued with his voice cracking and him stumbling on each word he spoke. "right." shadow nodded and sat still.
"we've heard some reports from the handymen that you've been rather... Frantic towards them?" Shadow started with his first inquiry, the reason why he was there. "ah... Yes, sir, I know my behaviors have been str-strange but I can assure you I am alright." Felicity's stutters became more and more obvious with each word he said. "I know sir, I jus-"
"I've just been struggling with stress. My wife is pregnant with our third child and well I guess that's why people are concerned about me and why I've been on edge lately." Felicity blurted and cut off shadows sentence again. Shadow waited for a second before saying his sentence "I, understand sir and that's why I came here just to check."
"he's lying." hive muttered in the intercom. "hahaha! He's such a bad liar~" she continued and her tone became fun and cheery. "don't trust him just yet." she kept adding to her sentence until Shadow kept hearing overlapping voices repeating liar over and over again in his head. Shadow was irritated by Hive just bickering with herself again, but all he could do was just ignore her.
"Okay." shadow muttered and glared down at the coffee table in front of him. Shadow then asked his next question and changed his gaze back onto Mr. Felicity, "We've also received a report from a few months ago that you may have ties to an uprising against Autodale?"
Felicity held his breath for a second. He then started to shake again, but this time it was more violent and noticeable and His breathing became heavy. "is this true Mr. Felicity?" shadow continued with a puzzled look drawn on his face. Felicity couldn't look Shadow in the eye anymore, he was engulfed in anxiety. He looked around the room until his gaze landed on a sharp golden decore that sat upward on the coffee table.
"it...it isn't true s-sir." Felicity stuttered again while keeping his gaze on the pointed item.
"Okay." shadow hesitantly said. He took note of Felicities' responses and debated in his head whether to either search the house or leave. "and...one more question sir..." Shadow hesitated again. The room was silent and only the sound of a door opening and closing filled the air.
Mr. Felicity's breathing became more and more heavy and loud beneath his mask. His shaking became more violent, making the couch shake as he shook.
"do you know anything about this uprising?"
Mr felicity couldn't even respond with words. He was too anxious to speak. He started to sweat under his mask and it dripped down to his chin. Shadow then became extremely suspicious of Mr felicities behavior. "sir are you-"
"NO."
"no." Felicity blurted out in fear. He then tried his best to gather himself so that he could speak. He then tried to gulp in his fear "I'm. I'm sorry, I'm alright. I-i meant no to your question. The first one y-you asked." he continued stuttering. He then tried to stop shaking and tried to have his anxiety come to a halt.
"search his house shadow," Hive said in a serious tone. "he's hiding something from us. It could be the rebels." she continued. Shadow then sighed and stood up from his chair. "thank you for answering these questions, sir," Shadow said calmly. Felicity then sighed in relief. It was finally over.
"but... I have to search your house just to make sure you were telling the truth."
"wh-what?" he stumbled and began to sweat again. A flood of anxiety rushed in and he began to panic. His breathing labored again but this time it was loud. He began to shake again and his vision blurred behind his mask.
Shadow then put his coat back on while he still faced mr felicity. Felicity then sharply moved his gaze to the object he was staring at earlier. He didn't even think about what he was about to do. He then grabs the golden sharp object making shadow jerk back in defense.
Shadow then reaches for his revolver just in case and that's when he was caught off guard.
He felt a sharp tugging pain in the wires from behind his head. He yells in pain as the wires were tugged out of his skull. Sparks flew everywhere fraying the collar of his coat. Felicity jumped backward as he watched the shadow being torn apart by a woman's hands. Shadow's expression changed from being in pain and shock to still and a seemingly dead face as the glow from his eyes went out and turned grey. Shadow then fell forward on the ground, and the last thing he saw was a blurry image of Mr Felicity standing there in horror as it all goes black.
The woman from behind then held the wires in her hand as sparks danced around Shadow's body. She looks down and kicks his leg to make sure that he was truly dead. "San-Sandra?!" Felicity gasped and drops the object onto the floor. "hm. That was easier than I thought." she said out loud. She then drops the wires on the floor and grabs shadows legs. "hey can you help me carry this thing down in the sewers?" Sandra sighed while dragging Shadow's body toward the back door.
"I- what- uh- I have so many questions but yeah I'll help you..." Mr. Felicity scoffed and wondered why that was so easy for Sandra to do. He then looks back to the cowboy hat that lay on the floor and the torn-out wires scattered across the tiles. He goes back and picks up the hat and walks out of the back door pondering what would be happened if Sandra didn't step in.

So as of tomorrow, the Kids Online Safety Act, is set for markup as of July 27 at 10:00 am. And for those who aren't aware, this bill, if passed, does not protect kids. If merely eradicates privacy, freedom of speech, and unlawfully searches and seizes everything you say and do on the web.
It will censor everything the government does not like and if you want "unrestricted access" you will need to prove you are above the age of 18, which will most likely mean you will need to upload some kind of ID. Additionally, if you need to upload your ID, there is no guaranteed protection that your image or the ID itself will not be swiped or sold like how Instagram/Facebook/Twitter did when they sold data to the Russians.
This will also be harmful to kids, especially those to have a bad living situation. KOSA does nothing but police the Internet for everything you say and do on the Internet. It will censor medical information, history, information, and restrict and limit, if not outright ban what can be posted on social media.
Sites like Ao3 (Archive of Our Own), Wattpad, Tiktok, Tumblr, etc.... EVERYTHING will be affected, art especially. And what's more, is KOSA passes, it will be a gateway to pass all the other bad internet bills like the RESTRICT ACT, EARN IT ACT, COOPER DAVIS, CSAM, etc.
The Internet will turn into a hellscape for everyone; kids, companies, and adults alike!
The picture above, from @dontdelete.art, is a call to action in protesting these bad internet bills. As of today, July 26, we need to protest against this bill for our privacy and our freedom. Call your representatives and senators, AND ALSO call the Commerce Committee as they are the ones overseeing this mark up meeting.
The Commerce Committe's numbers are:
Majority: 202-224-0411
Minority: 202-224-1251
Call them and tell them you oppose KOSA, tell them the dangers, tell them how it breaks our first and fourth ammendment rights and how it violates our privacy.
We only have one more day before it goes to mark up, so let's make it count. Spend today speaking out on KOSA, post on social media talking about the dangers of KOSA, call and email your representatives, senators, and the committee!
DON'T SIT IDELY BY, MAKE TODAY COUNT!
