TUTORIAL OVER MAKING CUSTOM SIMS 3 PAINTINGS:

Hey guys! Long time, no see! How’re you? I hope you all are fine!

I took a break a couple of months ago, since I changed a bit. I was in a writer vibe, and sims wasn’t even being one of my hobbies for awhile, so I stopped everything related to it. But now, I’m thinking to come back and I wanted to do this contest, since I’m also going to start posting stories in English too in my Wattpad! Write is a good hobby for me, I found myself on it, and soon I will be posting my 1st original story on Wattpad! I’m hosting it not only for followers or anything, but I want to own a new public for new stories I will be posting soon! So, I would love if you all can enter on it!

It’s a contest with 5+ items + 15 poses! The amount of winners will be by the number of followers: for every 10 followers (here and in Wattpad) it will be one winner.

Just started using S-Club’s lashes and I stumbled on this little fix, so excited. 

S-Club’s 3-D eyelashes look awesome, except when you have a hairstyle that overlaps them and they bleed through the mesh. My fix corrects this issue by changing the layering priority of the lashes in each texture’s CASP.

You will still need S-Club’s eyelash meshes and designs, found here. I only altered the CASP resources, so to use this mod either A) delete S-Club’s original eyelash packages (but ONLY the ones with the word “casp” in the title) and replace them with my fixes or B) place my fixes in your overrides folder. I decided to keep the name of each package essentially the same so you can easily tell which packages to swap out and which ones to keep. Furthermore, I only fixed both design set 3A and design set 3B. I don’t use the earlier sets in my game, so I don’t know if they have the same issue, but I can correct the layering on those too if anyone wants them. I went ahead and fixed design sets 1 and 2 as well. I’m sad because a lot of blogs I like are choosing TS4 and completely dropping TS3. I just want to know if at least some people are sticking with TS3 or both TS3 and TS4

This couldn’t come at a better time. Thank you soooooo much @simshai91 for sharing, I’ve recently started reorganizing my store items and I was worried that I would have to go back in and get all the Thumbnails for them but you literally saved my life 🤗

PSA for anyone organising their TS3 CC: download Sims 3 Thumbnail Extractor!

I have just downloaded a tool that will save me so much time in my CC re-organisation. Honestly, this just had me staring at my screen and going “Seriously? Holy crap!”

It’s the Sims 3 Thumbnail Extractor by Killc*a at MTS. All you do is leave it at default settings, choose a folder to scan, wait for a few seconds, and it will extract all the THUMB and ICON resources (if both exist within a file, it will extract both) inside everything in that folder. It works on package files and Sims3pack files, and it does it in seconds. (You can also choose individual files if you don’t want everything in an entire folder extracted.)

Prior to this I had been going through each file one at a time, opening it in S3PE, finding the THUMB or ICON files, using the option to open them in Paint, hitting Save As > JPG, typing the first letter of the name and scrolling to find the correct name, hitting the End key to go to the end of the filename so I can backspace out the .package or .sims3pack bit– Well, you get the general idea. Lots of work for one image. All of that work now takes literally seconds with this thing.

The video above will show you just how quickly it works. That folder contains 1,397 package files by LunaSims. To go through them individually would have involved several hours of non-stop work. This program processed them in a couple of seconds.

It managed to do 1,354 out of those files, meaning that 43 of them don’t have THUMB or ICON files, but it’ll be easy to sort those out, load them into my game and take screenshots of them.

My only bugbear is that it saves the images as PNG files, but there are tons of file conversion programs out there that will convert those to JPGs so you can save a bit of space.

(Now all I need is a program that will take the hundreds of extracted package files from a Sims3pack lot [which have gibberish names] and delve inside their XML files to rename the file with the actual item name, so that I don’t have to!)
