Guys I'm on idle until I get my new phone HELP

I would have played all my favorite games already if my phone didn't have only 32GB, my speaker/mic is blowing out anyway so I'm lucky I get a reward for academic success

This phone has always been kinda bad but so has everything else, I can barely play online at all because of it, however this time I get to choose the phone and with the suggestions of my partner I'm getting a whole new phone type (from android/samsung to iphone)

Honestly idfk how to feel??? Like don't get me wrong I fucking LOVE the idea of going from 32GB to 520-something GB but that's a lot to process 😭 I don't even know how most iPhone mechanics work (I used a friend's once and couldn't figure out the home/app button thing)

I'm gonna miss separate volumes, but it's a price to pay

My partner loves to have me watch them play because it makes their playing 10x better, (I sorta have that too but not as much, not the topic here) I prefer to play over watching and if I watch for too long I end up falling asleep due to being understimulated.

Today, we found a workaround.

For context, we don't have compatible devices and they are much more skilled than me, so there's very few games we can play together. When there is a game we can co-op, my devices end up having problems or our skill levels end up either boring them or frustrating me.

My partner wanted me to watch them play Project Sekai, which I end up zoning out during due to pretty lights before eventually falling asleep. We ended up talking about it, and the solution that made us both hyper was-funnily enough-essentially giving me an unplugged controller!

They streamed their setup like usual, but they put it on my skill level and I got to basically phantom play if that makes sense? Then they put it back up to their skill level and played before moving to a new song. It felt like I was progressing through the actual game and they got me to watch them too! We essentially just took turns long distance!!

On my dream last night (Right now as I'm writing this) me and my long distance partner worked in the same roblox-tycoon ahh restaurant. They were urging me to brush my teeth because throughout the dream I scratched my teeth clean but never actually brushed or flossed. They took me to a mirror and my teeth were so horrid that I listened. They then told me it was 6:20am and I needed to get dressed for school (my bus comes around 6:40am and I've dreamed about being late to my bus for the last two weeks) I actually ended up waking up irl due to this. It was not 6:20am, but it was in fact 3:40am, half the hour double the minutes. Wtf. (I'm writing this at 4am)

In Your Eyes Now by NightCove_thefox as well as other older songs have been stuck in my head recently. I didn't realize how much of a coping mechanism it was.

I can totally see someone listening to it and thinking

Controversial take, but I think if you're pretending to be in a minority to genuinely help the minority it's okay.

Let me explain (by retelling a story I saw online)

The main person is a straight cis guy. His friends are straight cis guys here too.

The antagonists are clearly drunk (setting is a bar) and yelling homophobic slurs. They are very agressive and they're clearly showing violent signs

The main straight guy (and all his straight friends) then said they were gay. The other men turned around, yelling at them, the friends continued to say they were gay.

The men beat up the guys. This was the main guy's goal, as there was a very strong bartender on watch and they could get charged with hate crime.

They took the beatings, told the cops they were gay. The men did get arrested on hate crime, as well as assault I believe.

The main guy and his friends were pretending to be gay, yes. But they did it to put harmful people in jail. If they did not do that, eventually someone who was actually gay could've been hurt.

In my opinion, these guys are heros, even if nothing bad happened yet as far as we know.

AI is such a great tool because if I want to self sabotage I don't have to make friends with toxic people who will genuinely hurt me

I can literally just go "hmm.. let me type in transphobe" and then I can have the experience of someone invalidating my gender and be able to argue and WIN because AI is stupid

Or I make myself lose an argument but then it's fine because it's not real and I can just walk away and never have to worry about someone following me around when I just want comfort

When I want someone to be toxic to me I get an AI to do it because I can just stop talking at any point and leave with giggles instead of feeling like shit

Our World Geography teacher told us he added a Korean unit to the end of the year and he said we can teach some of it because we know a lot.

If you never let a phase start it won't ever end. Pushing someone you know, no matter what the statis is, into a corner of being what they don't want to be at that moment they'll only try more and more. If it really IS a phase, let them go through it. If it starts, it'll eventually fade, because that's what phases do.

If it really ISN'T a phase? Don't make them change something about THEMSELVES for YOUR comfort. It's THEIR body. They won't be in your life forever. Don't leave them with a scar once you're out of it.

If it really isn't a phase, love them. If you don't love them because your Christian, that isn't loving thy neighbor. Your god Jesus wants you to love unconditionally, not to love "unconditionally" until it's something you don't like.

Support the people around you, phase or not. They deserve the same care you do. No need to make what's already such a hard world to live in a harder one.

I think it's very interesting when link grips his sword a little tighter during a cut scene now that I've realized something, stick with me for a minute

I imagine in Hyrule's knight code, you shouldn't retaliate with words or anger because it distracts you from your weakness and then the enemy can attack blindspots. This is a little more interesting when you take into account the popular headcanon of Link being nonverbal!

(Skyward Spoilers, post makes sense without this part) Let's take Skyward Sword for example, since ive finished the entire game. The entire time you're just trying to find Zelda to bring her home, to make things normal again. Every time he saw her, every time he could've hugged her, she was taken away from his sight again. I can't imagine the trauma this man went through from this, especially when Zelda explains that she had to keep doing what she was doing and locked herself in the past. I imagine link distressed over not knowing how to tell her father, that no one would ever know when they would see her again. Link knowing he has to pick himself back up just when he thought he could rest to fight a literal god

Now back to the point of the post, you'll often see during cutscenes with antagonists ranting that they'll make this big "I've got you now" moment, and then you'll see Link's brow furrow and he grips his sword a little tighter, getting into a fight stance and making sure his sword is angled properly.

I imagine Link, who finally saw his best friend (and potentially lover) get taken again, or some sort of big barrier right when he thought it was over.

He feels so much anger and hatred, but he knows he can't lash out. Whether from not being able to speak or showing vulnerability is up to interpretation. He knows he can't yell out, he can't scream and cry like his body needs to. He has to sit there, as stone faced and quiet as possible.

In those few moments, all he does with his body is tilt his sword and look angry, but he's definitely wanting to break under such stressful things, he's barely a legal adult if even in most games, some games he's an actual kid!

He wants to break, but he just moves his hand, stays in place. Because what's a hero if not strong? What's strong if not contained?

Link wants to break, but he can't. This is his burden to bear.

If you could choose to be born in any decade besides the one you were born in, future or past, what would it be?

I was born right at the end of th3 2000s so I'm a 2010s kid, and as much as I love my playing outside and those box tvs you put in the corner of a ceiling, I think I'd choose to be born in the 90s so I could experience being a 2000s kid, it would be so fun I think

We'd probably still have those ceiling corner box tvs and cylinder fish lights, and well- the elsa notebooks that sing to you with those stupid heart keys everyone always lost, but my elementary did use VHS tapes frequently and I love them.

I did actually experience D.A.R.E and it was fun, but I will never forget when I was erasing and drawing on the Dare book characters to change their features and the Dare officer called out "Stop drawing on my girl!!"

Besides that I do genuinely miss my Sega Genesis, and I also LOVE the boxy computers. People who know us personally know our sys tag is related to windows98, so bleh

I've just realized after many years of living that players in games with higher stats don't kill you when you're smaller because they have empathy and realize that you're just getting used to said game but instead because you just don't boost their stats because they're bigger.
