There’s certain hobbies and interests that aren’t inherently conservative or regressive but do attract a lot of people who are those things or worse and when you’re a progressive person involved in those hobbies hearing that someone else is interested in your hobby usually has to involve some “But are you normal about it?” conversations before you get too excited

This may be a hot take, but as someone who has worked on around, and with both types of printers, 3D printers are so much better machines (at least in my opinion)! 3D printers just heat up shit and push it through a tube, whereas 2D printers are demon machines that summon text from an other dimensional portal and require the sacrifice of your first born. I have fought a 2d printer and literally ended up covered in blood and toner. I won but at what cost? Yes 3D printers are fire hazards a little bit sometimes, but so are most of my friends and colleagues. I’d take a 3D printer over a 2D any day of the week.

i feel like it says something about us as a species that somebody worked real hard to invent 3D printing when i think anyone who has ever used a printer would agree with me that we have not really gotten our arms around 2D printing yet. we’re getting ahead of ourselves.

"dont smoke around your pets" okay well i dont even smoke im asthmatic. my dog smokes bc she needs to fucking chill sometimes and Yeah i light them for her Obviously bc she cant use a lighter. i dont get anyrhing out of this arrangment and i resent the implication. in fact shes giving ME secondhand smoke. so my question is why are you so hateful and jugemental and acting like an asshole to me making presumptions and shit about my life.

Hi People of Tumbler! World Hippopotamus Day, February 15th, is coming up soon, and I wanted to share this super dope holiday with you! I have been celebrating World Hippo Day since I was a kid, and it’s a day that’s a lot of things for a lot of people. Many who celebrate of use the day to learn about the majestic nature of nature’s best creature: the hippopotamus, and to others it's a day to advocate for hippos, or an anti-Valentine’s Day of sorts. To me, it is all of these things, and it is also a day to spread hippo joy. Every year I try to spend the day handing out tiny hippos to random people, and it seems to make them happy. I think that hippos would be happy to know that they make people happy.

This year, World Hippopotamus Day falls during a charity livestream fundraiser called the Project for Awesome (AKA the P4A) that is held by some really cool internet people like Hank and John Green. The P4A raises money for organizations like Save the Children and Partners in Health that work hard to decrease world suck, and just generally make the world a better place. Due to the US gov's pause in USAID, the global fight against preventable & treatable diseases like TB, HIV, & Malaria is suffering a huge setback and now more than ever Nonprofits dedicated to fighting these diseases need support.
