We don’t see things as they are, we see things as we are.

So many people have career-describing names. Beverly Semmes isn't a seamstress but a conceptual artist who made these things when I was using clothing to make works as well. She's still awesome & I'm still affected by her stuff.
Thanks to a wonderful role model, I joined LinkedIn – was it worth it? Early days & it was lots of fun tweaking words to shape an image. Hmmm how to sketch a public profile, check it out here: http://tinyurl.com/8d4y8pe
One of the best things about sitting a gallery show is the people.
A man told me not to take anything personally as he ushered his unsighted mother around the walls. To him they were silly. He came out with the classic, "A 7-year old could..." and repeatedly dismissed them with "Strings. Lots of strings." "More strings."
Until he came to one, in fluoro pinks, ribbons & roses. I braced myself, then he stepped back as he told her, "Now, [big pause] this one! This one's [got me]."
So you never know. (see above)
As AIR with Waverley Council I've been busy making work, going to the studio, spending hours on the road, entering comps, booking shows, securing an agent, reading reading reading, getting tutor gigs & insurance. Did you know that casual work such as running classes or workshops or performing requires your own insurance? It does. For that go to NAVA for links.
But for models & performers etc, go to http://www.duckforcover.com for totally affordable cover. They are the bomb. Makes it possible for your efforts to be all about the art.
Art takes time, thought and skill. Conceptual artists have skills. Someone said "You make art like a little kid!" hahaha. That's not a bad thing. Picasso knew that too.

A French friend saw this blog & gave me A- for the project. He wanted to give more, but like a true lecturer, he said it was to make me work harder. Thanks B. x
