After a year of watching CR, the cast’s panels and the Between the Sheets interviews… I think I can safely say that the most important lesson I’ve learned from them is how life-changing it can be to surround yourself with good people.
Surround yourself with people who are open and vocal about how much they love and admire you, who call themselves your biggest fan and who are there to support you through your path to greatness.
Surround yourself with people who enjoy their own interests unapologetically, who genuinely seek for the things that will make them happy and who are not restrained by what people will think of them.
Surround yourself with people who aren’t afraid to show affection through words or physical gestures, who are shamelessly in love with their special other and who see that their love is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Surround yourself with people with healing energy, people who will listen to you attentively, who will offer a helping hand when the world is falling down around you, who will try their best to understand your struggles.
Surround yourself with people that are loud, who aren’t afraid to exist brightly and colorfully, who laugh and cry and have fun and feel with every fiber of their being.
Most importantly, though, be that kind of person. Put positive energy into the world and you will find it coming back to you. This group of nerds is just a taste of what unapologetic genuine shameless love can accomplish. And I feel grateful every day for the reminder that there’s someone out there who, when you least expect it, will show up and love you and make life a thousand times better.

Startled from a loud voice behind me I drop the mug and panic surges through my body as I turn to face an attacker. It’s just my neighbor. “Sorry.” I mumble.
“ I was wondering if you wanted to finish the episode of Veronica Mars I was watching before you knocked on my door. Wait, I never caught your name! My name’s Rosie. I think I may have mentioned it earlier, but you seemed a little distracted.” I add quickly. I know her life story, well some of it and not her name. I knew that my social skills were sub-par at best, but I didn’t know they were THAT bad.
“ Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you. Uh, Peyton. My name I mean. And sure I could stay for a little bit to watch some tv.”

It takes a long time for the Delarosa family to all get out of the door together. At around 4 she began helping Nathalia get ready, changing her out of her shirt with spaghetti stains on it and into a floral sweater. Nikolai is 9 and can get ready himself, but rarely chooses to. So with all that being said, they ended up leaving their apartment at five past five.
Nina grabbed both Nathalia and Nikolai’s hands, before she shut the door and jiggled the handle to make sure it was locked. She approached Rosie’s door but stopped before knocking. “Why aren’t you knocking? I can do it,” Nathalia squealed. “How about you knock on this door for me first, milaya moya,” Nina offered sweetly. Nathalia excitedly scurried over to the door beside them and obnoxiously pounded on the door. “Knock knock!” She proclaimed. I’m sure Rosie wouldn’t mind some extra company,’ She thought. They stood their together in a huddle as they waited for a response.
“ Dammit stop being chicken Pey. Just splash it on.” Standing in the mirror peyton glares aat her reflection. Specifically at the blood oozing cut on her shoulder. Snatching the bottle of rum she takes a sip. Not thinking about it anymore she splashes probably more than necessary onto the wound. “ Fucking hell.” She says through gritted teeth. “knock knock!” She faintly hears a voice say fading over the sound of her heart beating in her ears. “ One second!” Peyton thinks she yells. “ Shit gotta hurry.” She mumbles to herself. Grabbing the bandages she scrambles to wound around her arm till about mid bicep. She grabs the long sleeve shirt hanging off the mirror and pulls it over her head. She then adjusts the shirt to cover the make job bandaging. Jogging over to the front door she swings it open. “What do you wan-Oh hey, uh what’s up?” She looks to see Nina with two kids. Peyton crouches down twitching a little because it stretched her wound but she grits her teeth and did it anyway to be level with them. “ Hi, Nina.” she quickly glance at her. “ And who are these guys? what’re your names?”. Peyton looks to the kids to answer.

nina-delarosa:
“Oh, wow. That is fresh,” She stared at her arm for a moment more, frustrated that she couldn’t make out the meaning of it. “What is it exactly?”
“Oh, my name?” She chuckled to herself, because it definitely didn’t fly over anyone’s head. She always forgets to mention her name. “My name’s Nina, what’s yours?”
“ Sorry to disappoint but that's a story for another day.” I lick my lips uncomfortably.
“Nina.. I never heard that one before. I’m Peyton, you from around here?” I wonder where she's from. she seems different.
nina-delarosa:
Nina was not expecting that kind of response. “If you were smart, you wouldn’t have fallen through the damn door in the first place,” But she was right, maybe she should help her. She didn’t want to make a horrible impression.
She sighed. “Would you like some help?” She said somewhat sarcastically.
I smile at her. “ I don’t appreciate the sass but thanks. I wasn’t expecting that.”
nina-delarosa:
“I…didn’t ask about Shawn. But cool. Is he your boyfriend?” She inquired, snooping a little more than she needed to as usual.
“My band is The Clash,”
“ Ah no hahaha. I bet he wishes.”
“He’s a good mate of mine Plus he’s a hoe soo.. I’d rather not get an STD.” I pause. “ Damn really? I didn’t peg you for that music type.”
nina-delarosa:.
I don’t hate you, I just don’t know you. Plus, you might feel like the odd one out sitting beside my fiance.
…but, we could plan to do something. If you want. There’s that cat lady across from me that would probably be up to do something as well.
That’s true. ooh, la la. Lovers paradise huh. what’s his name? We should I need to get out of my apartment. It gets so boring. I think I’ve seen that cat lady.. I think she’s the woman who gave me batteries that one time.
peyton-keating:
nina-delarosa:
“I bet…” She said sarcastically, realizing how bad it sounded after. “I meant to not getting an STD…” She added awkwardly.
“Peg me more of a Russian Opera girl? ” She joked condescendingly.
“ I’ll have you know miss sassy that I’m a very sexy lady.” I wink
“ Nah, I pegged you more for classic or even jazz.”
nina-delarosa:
Rainbow? Nina touched her cheek, scratching off dried up pieces of magenta. “Oh, nothing really. Just that there’s an obnoxious person laying on the floor in the middle of the hallway breaking down doors,”
“There are kids sleeping you know,” There’s nothing she hates more than obnoxious, stubborn people that don’t do what she says.
I look at her up and down, sizing her up. “Obviously I didn’t fall through the damn door on purpose. If you were smart, you would have realized that I was on the phone and carrying a heavy ass bag up the stairs. Thanks for the help by the way.” I retort.
I can’t believe that my lamp doesn't have batteries! I walk over to the apartment next door. Knock knock. I rap on the door. Then I wait.
