Also small theory! Porter started a fight with Vincent as a distraction from other Vampires. Maybe for them not to focus on the noise of the king getting killed, or to cause a scene, to give sweetheart time?? Either way—I think he had a reasoning for him causing a scene other than the fact he just hates Vincent.
