When Alice Cullen came to you for a favor you wouldâve declined if you knew it would land you in the throne room of the Volturi. You had stayed under the radar for almost a hundred years. Before you were turned you lived in the upper class of New Orleans in the early 1900 hundreds. Your life was ordinary, your family was well off so you never went without. However that had changed one night when you were strolling through the French Quarter. A rogue vampire had moved into the New Orleans area, and you had become their next victim. As they were feeding from you, there were interrupted by a gaggle of drunk men stumbling into the alley. They had vanished just as quickly as they appeared. A crowd gathered around you as medics were called to the scene. You were put on a stretcher and quickly brought to the nearest hospital, where you succumbed to your injuries. Well thatâs how it appeared to the humans, but to the supernatural you were changing. Since the vampire left so abruptly their venom moved through your blood stream. This caused your heart to stop and for you to appear dead. Your parents held a beautiful funeral for you and you were buried with the rest of your family in one of the beautiful cemeteries of New Orleans. Three days after your âdeathâ you awoke in your tomb covered in a beautiful pale blue dress that your mother chose for you. A burning sensation in the back of your throat brought you back to reality and you easily broke out of the tomb. And you descended on the first human that came into sight. Once you were done feeding you pulled back in shock as you realized what you had done and what you had become. You quickly fled the city and ended up deep in the Louisana Bayou.
And thats where you stayed for almost hundred years, you fed on the animals, and learned that you had the power to control nature. You could make vines appear out of nowhere along with flowers, trees or any other type of plant. You quickly became a legend along with the Honey Island Swamp monster. Humans spoke of a creature that appeared human with golden eyes, (h/c) (h/l) hair, and pale (s/c) that shimmered when the sunlight hit it. After hearing this you moved deeper into the bayou.Staying in the Bayou helped you stay under the Volturiâs radar as the legend slowly became forgotten. So when Alice drug you to Italy with her and Edwards little human you were quite surprised when you ended up in the same room as the Volturi Kings and their guards.
When you got to Volterra and found Edward. You were led there by Jane, who you know as half of the Witch Twins. Your little group had been flanked by two more members of the guard. One was a short blonde haired man who looked like he was carved out of stone, and when you had made eye contact with all he did was send you a wink. He must have been Demetri, the Casanova of the Volturi. And the other member was a mountain of a man he easily towered over you and the rest of your group. He had dark brown hair and a chiseled face. When you had looked at him it had left you feeling confused. You felt this unexplained pull to him,and at that moment the world felt like it was just the two of you. He had to be Felix the executioner of the Volturi. Even though you stayed in the Bayou you still knew of the Volturi and their power. A few months after you had been changed, another vampire stumbled upon you in the bayou. They had stuck around for a few weeks and thats how you learned of the Volturi.
Jane led you, Alice, Edward and Bella to the elevator. Felix slid the black gate away from the doors before him and Demetri stepped in first.
âGo onâ Jane says. And you were the next one to enter the elevator quickly followed by Bella, Edward, Alice and finally Jane. You stood in front of the giant executioner but kept your gaze straight ahead after feeling his gaze on you. Out of the corner of your eye you could see Edward and Alice sharing looks occasionally glancing at you. You didnât know what they were doing but you had a feeling it wasnât anything good for you. And very shortly your feeling would be proven true.
Your group stops in front of two huge brown doors that Jane yanks open with ease. Your group is ushered into a domed shaped room with small windows high up near the curve of the roof and being the only source of sunlight. Pillars decorated the outline of the room. Up on a small platform of three steps were three men situated on three thrones. The floor was marble and everything in the room resembled the same cinnamon colour of the city, only slightly paler.
âSister they send you out to get one but you bring back threeâŠand half.Such a clever girl.â A voice came from a black haired male who took a few steps forward towards the Jane. He was Alec the other half of the famous Witch Twins, his power just as terrifying as Janeâs.
"What a happy surprise!" A man with black hair who stood from his throne in the middle smiled. "Bella is alive after all! I love happy endings, but they are so rare."
You looked around the room. Vampires dressed in assortments of grey's and blacks were at various sides of the room. Almost like a clock formation. The man with black hair walked straight towards Edward and took his hand in his. And thats when you realized that this was Aro, the king who could read every thought that passed through someones mind.
"They are so rare. Her blood appeals to you so much.. makes me thirsty." Aro said as he stared off momentarily distantly and muttered some Italian.
"How can you stand to be so close to her?" He then asked Edward.
"It's not without difficulty." Edward muttered.
"Yes, I can see that." Aro chuckled.
"Aro can read every thought I ever had with one touch." Edward said to Bella.
"And now you know everything." He then directs to Aro claiming his hand back.
"So get on with it." He then demands. A sinister smile that sent a shiver down your spine appeared on Aro's face.
"You are quite the soul reader yourself.
Though you cannot read Bella's thoughts.
Fascinating." He says, lowly before taking a step back. He glanced upon Bella who was sandwiched between Edward and Alice.
"I would love to see, if you are an exception to my gifts as well." Aro said with a tender smile, though it offered anything but tenderness, that resulted in Bella cuddling closer to Edward.
"Would you do me the honour?" Aro then requested, holding his hand out.
Hesitantly glancing between his eyes and hand Bella slowly stepped forwards and placed her thin warm hands in Aro's own bigger and colder ones. Once he has a hold of her hand Aro pulls her forwards slightly, eagerly glancing at it as he tries to see into her mind. Everyone else in the room, even yourself, were intrigued to hear the results. Shock riddles over the man's face as he looked up, uttering.
"Interesting." A clear enough indication to all of the curious minds that even his gifts couldn't penetrate her mind.
"I see nothing."
He took a careful step back, turning to face his co-leaders as Bella rejoined Edwards side.
He paced back towards the steps which led to the thrones before his voice chimes out once more.
"I wonder... Let us see if she is immune to all our power. Shall we, Jane." He sent a sinister smirk towards Jane.
You were getting ready to pull Bella back when Jane looked her way, but a hand on your shoulder stopped you. The touch sent a weird tingly feeling through your body. You looked behind you to see the owner of the hand. It was Felix who shook his head no, and then Edward is rushing forward.
"No."
"Pain." Jane muttered. At her words Edward suddenly stopped rushing forwards and instead started to convulse in an intense pain that didn't even allow him to scream out. His feet slowly lifted off the ground as his back arched. After a mere second under her pain, he collapsed to the floor.
"Stop! Please stop!" Bella begged, going to rush forwards but was stopped by Alec. Meanwhile Alice rushed towards Edward going by unstopped. Alice collapsed by him, her hands shakily hovering over his pain ridden body.
âLet us proceed Jane.â Janeâs attention moved from Edward was on the ground towards Bella who put on a brave front. After a few moments nothing happened and Bella stayed standing.
A cackling laugh and a hand clap breaks the eerie silence as we all looked at an amused Aro. "Remarkable. She confounds us all. So, what do we do with you now?" He questions thoughtfully.
"You already know what you are going to do.
Aro." The uninterested voice of the third man in the far rights chair spoke up. His face remained devoid of emotions, his hair, skin and eye the same as Aro's yet you could tell they were not related by blood. Marcus.
"She knows too much. Sheâs a liability ."
The blonde manâs voice chimes in from the right of Aro,Caius.
"Hmm, that's true... Felix." Aro says, his voice suddenly laced with pity. Upon the call of his name your shoulder is released . Alec spun Bella around to face Felix, who was now stalking towards her. As he neared her Edward flips her over his shoulder and he launches himself at Felix. The two are a whirlwind of flying limbs each of them holding their own against the other. You take a few step backs to avoid the fight when it nears you. There is a moment where Edward is able to push Felix away. In less than a second Edward is holding you in a headlock his arm pressing against your neck tightly.
âMove an inch closer and Iâll take her head off.â
Anger hot and red suddenly burns through Felix as he fixes a furious glare on Edward. A growl escapes his throat as he sees Edward tighten his grip. Your hands fly to the arm that Edward has on your throat and you claw at the arm trying to yank it off. You look at Alice for help but she just looks away. Edward tightens his grip more causing small cracks to form on your neck as he snarls at Felix. The ground beneath your feet begins to crack as spiked vines begin to shoot out the floor. They wrap around Edward tightly as more vines begin to shoot out of the floor. As the vines restrain Edward Felix yanks you out of Edwards arms and shoves you at Demetri who easily catches you. Felix grabs Edward by his shoulders before slamming down on the marble floor. A smirk forming on his face when a crack resonates through the throne room.
He pulls Edward back up before laying into him. And before long Felixâs hands are on either side of Edwardâs face ready to decapitate him at Aroâs order.
âKill me not him. Kill me.â Bella cries out as she moves forward. Aro holds up his hand to stop Felix, and he yanks Edward up keeping one hand on his throat.
âHow extraordinary. You would give up your life for someone like us. A vampire. A soulless monster.â Aro comments as he steps closer to Bella.
âJust stay away from her.â Edward hisses which cause Felix to tighten his grip with a snarl. Looking in the direction of where you stood with Demetri catching sight of the crack along your neck. And his grip tightens more giving Edward matching cracks along his neck.
âYou donât know a thing about his soul.â Bella says with a wave of confidence to Aro through gritted teeth.
Aro then muttered some more Italian before saying to Edward. âThis is a sadness. If only it was your intention to give her immortalityâ
Suddenly the room room is filled with an ominous atmosphere settled among them as Aro stalks towards Bella. Right before he could strike Alice called out.
âWait Bella will be one of us. Iâve seen it. Iâll change her myself.â Alice approached Aro and placed her hand in his outstretched one. The second he takes her hand heâs drawn into a vision.
"Mesmerising. To see what you have seen.
Before it happened..." Aro says to Alice before approaching Bella and mutters about how excited he is to see what her newborn abilities will reveal.
"Go now. Make your preparations." Aro says signalling Felix to let Edward go. You move from Demetriâs side and go towards where the two Cullens stood.
âAro.â The voice of Marcus rings out. Aro turns to his brother and races over to grab the outstretched hand.
âExcept for our other vampire friend. They will be staying here.â His words stop you in your tracks and you turn towards them.
âPardon me sir but why canât I leave with da rest. I donât believe I broke any laws other than being here.â You finally speak, your thick cajun accent filling the room.
âBecause my dear you are the mate of our dear Felix.â Aro says as he gestures towards the executioner. And with those words everything begins to dawn on you. Alice begging you to come, her looks with Edward in the elevator, and Edward threatening to take your head off. You whirl around to where the two Cullens stood with Bella.
âYa knew. Datâs why ya brought me. Ya knew what waâ gonna happen.â You snarl out in anger.
âDatâs also why you tried to kill me. Iâm the sacrifice. Yaâll were gonna use me to save ya human pet because Iâm da mate of one the guards.â As your anger begins to rise vines begin to creep up the pillars of the room.
âIt was a back up plan-â Edward begins but you let out a snarl and launch yourself at him. Before you make contact with Edward an arm is wrapped around your middle, and yanked backwards. You feel your back hit a hard body before a voice is heard.
âCalma il mio piccolo fiore.â
"Let's be done with this. Heidi will arrive any moment. Thank you for your visit." The apathetic voice of Marcus rings out.
"You'll return the favour and I'd advise you'd get it done quick. The Volturi don't offer second chances." Caius says watching as the three of them begin to follow Demetri out. And youâre kept against Felixâs chest as your anger slowly disappears along with the vines.
âMy âpolgies didnât mean to lose control like dat.â You say as the vines completely disappear. Aro then suddenly appears before you as Felix keeps his hold on you.
âWould you do me the honor my dear.â He says as he holds his hand out and you put yours in his. Your entire life and thoughts flash through your mind as Aro looks at them.
âNo need to apologize my dear I can see why you reacted the way you did. You stayed alone and isolated for so long. The only contact you had was when Carlisle passed through your home. And then Alice came to you for help only for them to betray you. And your gift will be a wonderful addition to us my dear.â
And those words sealed your fate. You were given a place among the Volturi and properly trained. Youâve been at the castle for a few months now, and your bond with Felix grew. Along with the growing friendship with Demetri and surprisingly the twins. The two looked up to you like an older sibling, so when the four were sent on a mission to Seattle you were lonely. You spent most of your free time in the garden, this is where you grew close with Marcus. He liked to take strolls through the gardens to see the flowers that his wife had once planted. Before you arrived the flowers withered away not long after they bloomed, and the garden would grow dull. The gardens had became your favorite place in the castle, and with your gift the gardens were restored to their former glory. The flowers that Didyme had planted flourishing once more, and Marcus was eternally grateful to you. The older vampire quickly became a father figure to you,so when he had the time he would keep you company within the gardens. Sometimes taking strolls with you or just reading a book.
Today was one of the days where you were completely alone in the gardens. The Elite Guard were expected to return that day so you decided to kill some time in the garden until Felix had returned. Your hands were planted in the grass as a new flower bush was growing in front of you, beautiful white roses beginning to bloom. A smile was on your face as the garden around you flourished, and it was a beautiful sight to Felix.
He had finally made it back from America, and you were the first thing on his mind. Of course he had to stop with the rest and give the kings their report. The Cullens had stopped the newborns, and Bella was still human. That information displeased Caius, but they were dismissed before Caius could explode in anger. Once he was dismissed he made a beeline to the gardens already knowing thats where youâd be. And a smile worked its way onto the executionerâs face at the sight of you.
âil mio piccolo fioreâ He says as he steps into the gardens. At the sound of his voice your head snaps up and your smile grows.
âMon Amour.â You say as you run into his open arms. You both let out a laugh as he lifts you and spins. You may have been angry at Alice in the beginning for lying to you. In that moment you were nothing but happy, going from a lonely vampire in the bayou to being cherished for eternity.

Y/N's pov
The screen had become a permanent fixture in Y/N's life. Days blurred together as the Games dragged on, filled with blood and rain and death. Her parents no longer tried to pull her away. She trained in the mornings, listless and robotic, but each afternoon and evening, she was back on the couch, eyes locked on the television, heart clenched in constant dread.
Clove had still been alive until two days ago.
Y/N could still hear her own scream echoing in her earsâraw, brokenâas she watched Lucian drive a spear through her best friendâs chest. Clove had fought like hell, refusing to go down, even after he severed her arm. She had taken his hand in the fight, cut it clean off in one brutal strike, her last act of defiance.
Y/N had collapsed to the floor, sobbing, her fists slamming against the wooden panels of her living room.
Clove was gone.
Clove, her best friend, her sister in everything but blood.
She was gone, and all that remained in the arena were two boysâboth from the Career alliance that had ruled the Games like gods among mortals. Cato from District 2. Lucian from District 1.
Selene had died the same day as Clove.
Y/N had watched in numb silence as Cato finally turned on the girl who had flirted with him so shamelessly. It was brutalâCato had lured her in with the same smile, the same charm she had used on him. Then, when she had let her guard down, he struck.
No hesitation.
A sword through the chest.
Y/N didnât know if it was revenge for Clove or just a final shedding of the act. Either way, Selene died staring at Cato with confusion, her hands clutching his shirt as she fell.
And now, only two remained.
Lucian, bloodied, one hand missing, barely able to hold his blade.
Cato, wounded at the thigh and side, soaked in rain and blood, breathing hard, but alive.
Y/N sat forward on the couch, her heart in her throat, barely able to breathe.
"Here we are, folks!" Caesar Flickerman's voice boomed through the speakers. "The final showdown of the 72nd Hunger Games! District 1 versus District 2. Two of the fiercest warriors we've seen in years!"
Claudius chimed in, voice reverent. "Cato looks like a stormâcalculated, deadly. But Lucian? Heâs not going down easy. That boyâs rage is burning hot. This could end in any direction."
Y/N didnât blink.
The arenaâonce a city, now reduced to broken buildings overtaken by natureâwas a battlefield. Rubble and ash littered the streets. Rain fell in slow, steady sheets, soaking through Catoâs dark clothes as he stalked forward. Lucian stood across from him, breathing hard, swaying slightly. His face was pale from blood loss, his severed arm wrapped tightly in what remained of his shirt.
They didnât speak.
They just charged.
Catoâs sword met Lucianâs in a violent clash of steel. Lucianâs eyes were wild with fury, his movements sharp despite his injury. But he was slower now, weaker. Catoâs injuries were severe, but his stance remained firm. He fought like someone with something left to lose.
The sound of blades rang through the Capitol broadcast. Y/Nâs nails dug into the armrest of the couch.
Lucian landed a shallow cut on Catoâs shoulder. Cato roared in pain and slammed the hilt of his sword into Lucianâs face, breaking his nose. Blood poured from both of them. It was vicious, relentless.
Lucian screamed, charging with a final burst of strength. But Cato ducked, pivoted, and in one brutal, final swing, drove his blade through Lucianâs gut.
Time stopped.
Lucian gasped. His sword clattered to the ground.
Cato didnât let go. He twisted the blade once before pulling it free, stepping back as Lucian fell to his knees, and then face first into the mud.
Silence.
Then the arena erupted into the sound of trumpets and cannon fire.
"AND WE HAVE OUR VICTOR!" Caesarâs voice roared, overwhelmed with joy. "CATO OF DISTRICT 2 HAS WON THE 72ND HUNGER GAMES!"
Y/N sat frozen, tears streaming silently down her cheeks.
Cato stood over Lucianâs corpse, his sword shaking in his grip, his eyes distant and hollow. The rain soaked him, blood pooling around his boots. His chest heaved, but he didnât move.
He didnât celebrate.
He just stood there.
And on the screen, the Capitol crowd went wild, chanting his name. A name Y/N had whispered in the dark. A name she had screamed into her pillow. A name she had cried for when he walked into that arena.
Cato.
Victor.
But Y/N couldnât feel victory.
She felt like something inside her had shattered beyond repair.
Cato's POV
The pain was gone.
At least, the physical kind.
Capitol medicine had seen to that in less than twenty-four hours. The torn flesh in his thigh, the deep slice at his ribs, the cracked bone in his shoulderâall healed. He stood in front of the mirror in the lavish victor suite, dressed in an impeccably tailored black suit that fit him like it had been sculpted directly onto his body. His hair was neat, face clean. Too clean. Too untouched for someone who had just bathed in blood and rain and death.
He didnât recognize himself.
Behind him, Brutus leaned against the dresser with crossed arms, sharp eyes tracking him in the mirror.
âYou remember what I said?â Brutus asked, voice calm but edged with steel.
Cato nodded, jaw clenched.
âNo mercy. No empathy. You won because you're the strongest. Own it. You show them anything softâregret, pain, heartâand they'll smell it on you. And then theyâll use you.â
Cato turned slightly. âTheyâll sell me.â
Brutus didnât look away. âIf they think youâre pliable, if they see someone the citizens will want to touch, they'll put you up for auction. Maybe not right away. Maybe theyâll call it charity, or a celebration tour. But itâll happen.â
Catoâs chest felt like it was caught in a vice.
âAnd if I act like a monster?â he asked.
Brutusâs lips curled in a grim smile. âThen theyâll fear you. And no one wants to touch a monster.â
Cato looked back at his reflection. The boy staring back wasnât seventeen. He wasnât even human anymore. He looked like a weapon carved out of victory and vengeance.
âGot it,â he said quietly.
Brutus stepped forward, placed a heavy hand on his shoulder. âGood. Donât flinch. Donât smile. And whatever you do, donât look sorry.â
The prep team appeared minutes later, dousing him in expensive cologne, smoothing out every crease, brushing invisible specks from his jacket. Then it was time.
He walked the gleaming halls of the Capitol studio with silent footsteps, cameras already catching his entrance. The roar of the crowd from inside the studio was deafening. They chanted his nameâCato, Cato, Catoâas though he were a god.
As though he hadnât just killed 23 other kids to be standing there.
Y/N's POV
Y/N couldnât sit still.
She stood with her arms wrapped tightly around herself, just in front of the television in their living room. Her parents sat on the couch, silent, the air around them thick with tension. The moment Caesar Flickerman appeared on screen, dressed in a shimmering emerald suit, her stomach twisted.
âAnd now, ladies and gentlemen, the moment youâve all been waiting forâplease welcome, the victor of the 72nd Hunger GamesâCATO!â
The audience screamed. Lights burst across the screen. Cato walked out onto the stage like he owned it.
And in a way, he did.
He was beautiful in a way that made Y/Nâs heart ache. But something was wrong.
His eyes.
They were empty.
No smile curled at his lips. No trace of the boy she had trained with, laughed with, spent the night with just days before the Reaping. He sat beside Caesar like a lion among sheepâcold, composed, calculating.
âCato!â Caesar beamed. âYouâve had quite the journey! The highest score in training, you dominated the Careers, and nowâyouâre our champion! Tell us, how does it feel to be the victor of the 72nd Hunger Games?â
A long pause. Cato tilted his head slightly.
âExpected,â he said flatly.
The crowd laughed nervously. Caesar chuckled, brushing it off.
âWell, modesty certainly isnât part of the package, is it?â Caesar joked. âTell meâwas there any moment in the Games where you thought, âthis might be itâ? Any moment where you were afraid?â
Cato leaned forward, one elbow on his knee.
âNo.â
Caesar blinked. âNo?â
âIâm from District 2. We train our whole lives for this. The moment I stepped into that arena, the only thing I saw was victory.â
Y/Nâs breath caught. This wasnât him. It couldnât be.
âI killed because thatâs what I was there to do,â Cato continued. âAnd if I had to do it again, Iâd make the same choices. I didnât come to make friends. I came to win.â
Gasps and murmurs from the audience.
Y/Nâs hands trembled. Her nails dug into her palms.
âEven with Clove?â Caesar asked gently. âShe was from your district. She was your cousin and your ally.â
Catoâs face didnât change. âAllies are temporary. I didnât kill her, but if it had come to that, I wouldâve.â
Y/Nâs knees gave a little. She sat down on the floor without meaning to.
âAnd tell me this,â Caesar continued, voice more serious now. âWas there someone back home? Anyone special who you fought for?â
Cato hesitated.
Y/N leaned in.
His jaw tensed. Then he looked into the camera, eyes hard as granite.
âNo.â
Laughter from some of the crowd. Others murmured.
But Y/N⊠she saw it. The flicker. The shift in his eyes.
He was lying.
He was lying, and it hurt him to say it. She could see it in the way he blinked a little too long, the way his hand twitched slightly on his knee.
He was protecting her.
Her heart ached in her chest, torn between pride and grief.
Caesar wrapped up the interview with charm and grandeur, ending it with: âCato of District 2, the Victor of the 72nd Hunger Games, ladies and gentlemen!â
Applause thundered. Lights blazed.
Y/N sat in the dark of her living room, tears slipping silently down her cheeks.
He was alive.
But he wasnât Cato anymore.

The lights of the Santa Carla boardwalk will draw anyone in from tourists to surfers and even goths like yourself. You were still new to Santa Carla area having moved there a few months prior. You had been to the boardwalk a few times, but people werenât really your thing so you stayed away. One night your friends that youâve made since moving there wanted to go explore the boardwalk. They only went to it during the day, their parents didnât want them out after dark, but they were finally able to go. You spent the evening hours getting ready, teasing your hair into a huge messy up-do. You used a lot of hairspray, starting with your roots you styled it into a poofy and messy look. After your hair was done you covered your face in white foundation before lining your eyes with black liner, big bold wings now standing out against the white foundation. And to top off the look you added black lipstick to your lips.
Now your outfit. You had dug through closet for an hour before finally deciding on something. You had slipped on the clothes you chose before layering some belts and chains around your waist. And finally to complete the whole look you throw on some combat boots and your black leather jacket. After spraying some perfume, you grab your keys and head out the door. And in your driveway sits a black 1967 Chevy Impala, it shines in the last bit of sunlight.
You slide into the drivers seat, setting your bag beside you. After sliding the keyâs into the ignition you start the car,and it comes to life with a small hum. You sit their for a few minutes going through your cassette tapes, before deciding on The Cure. After sliding the cassette tape in,you car is filled with the lyrics from A Night Like This. The drive to the boardwalk was peaceful, most of the locals retreating into their homes before nightfall. The boardwalk was mostly full of tourists and the braver side of the locals.
You park your car in a spot that was close to the boardwalk. You barely come here at night so you wanted to make sure you could get away fast. You were the first of your friends to get there so you get out, and lean against the rails by the entrance. People watching was always fun in Santa Carla, there were so many different types of people. There were the tourists, the punks, the goths (like yourself), the girls who just wanted a good lay, and the guys who would jump anything with a set of legs. And of course there were the Surf Naziâs, they were some of the crudest people in Santa Carla. Your thoughts were cut off by loud bike engines, and you knew which group it was. All of Santa Carla knew who they were. The infamous Lost Boys.
You had never seen the group in person so you looked curiously. There were three blondes and a brunette. The first blonde you saw had curly hair, a patched jacket, and cherub like face.
The second blonde had long, wild blonde hair and blue eyes. Heâs wearing a black coat that reaches his knees with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows and split up the back, ending at his waste-line. The next one you saw was the brunette, he was tall and wore a black jacket without a shirt underneath it. And the final one you saw took your breath away. His short hair was styled into a mullet, and it was a platinum blonde. He wore a leather jacket, matching gloves, and dusty black pants. As you were looking him over, he was looking right back at you. And your eyes collided (e/c) clashing with an icy blue. You quickly averted your eyes not wanting to get on their bad side or have to much attention put on you.
Unfortunately for you, their attention was already on you, specifically Davidâs. The rest of the boys heard Davidâs thoughts through the pack bond, and they knew that he called dibs on you. The boys stayed perched on their bikes as David watched you with a cigarette between his lips. Then your friends finally arrived, and you headed into the boardwalk with them.
âLetâs go boys.â David says as he climbs off his bike and makes his way onto the boardwalk.

You knew that your friends werenât gonna stick around long. They were the type to go find any guy that would show interest. Since they ditched you, after some debating you head to the carousel. As you get on the carousel you notice a beautiful black horse, and make a beeline for it. You climb up on it, sitting sideways so your legs can dangle off the side. Your hand wrapping around the pole to keep yourself from falling as the carousel starts to move. As the ride moves you swing your legs humming Girls Girls Girls by the Motley Crue. Santa Carla was always full of excitement, but at this moment it was peaceful. That peace didnât last very long when suddenly you felt two people move behind your horse.
âYou got some pretty good music taste Goth girl.â You turn your head towards the voice, and you see two of the blondes behind you. The one that spoke was the long haired one.
âYeah didnât expect a girlie like you to know Motley Crue.â The curly haired one says as he leans against the back of your horse.
âAnd whatâs that supposed to mean? Looks donât define a personâs music taste.â You shoot back with a small glare as you cross your arms across your chest.
âOh the little lady has some fire in her.â A new voice joins in as the third blonde appears on your side. His hand coming up to grab the pole as he leans in a bit closer. As he leans closer the fourth one joins standing by the front of the horse, they made it to where you couldnât run.
âWhatâs a pretty one like yourself doing all alone. We saw you with a group earlier.â It was the platinum blonde again.
âI donât see how thatâs any of your businessâŠâ You trail off realizing that you donât know his name.
âDavid.â He says before pointing out each of the boys.
âThatâs Paul.â It was the long haired blonde that first spoke to you, and he sends you a flirtatious smile.
âMarko.â The curly haired blonde. He sends you a wave with his fingers sporting a cheshire grin.
âAnd Dwayne.â The brunette didnât say anything all he did was send you a nod.
âWell David as I said before I donât see how itâs any of your business where my friends are.â You say before dismounting from the horse and leaving the ride once it stopped. Marko and Paul move to stop you, but David stops them with his hand.
âNo one touches her. Sheâs mine.â Paul and Marko hold their hands up in surrender already knowing what this means with their brother. He rarely showed interest in anyone unless he was wanting to feed. And they could tell he didnât want to feed on you. No he wanted something else.
âWell then letâs go get your girl.â Paul says as him and Marko start to shove each other making their way off the carousel. David and Dwayne share a look before following after the Terror Twins.
â§ïœ„ïŸ: *â§ïœ„ïŸ:* ă đžđžđžđžđž *:ïŸâ§*:ïŸâ§
After escaping from the boys you wander around the boardwalk slowly gathering your friends so you can leave. Their parents still wanted them home at a good time since so many people go missing at night. So you made sure they left the boardwalk safely, and made it to their cars. You quickly do a head count of your friends before you all head towards the parking lot. Making sure theyâre all safely in their cars and heading home you go to your own car. You reach into your bag grabbing your keys, continuing to your car until you hear a wolf whistle.
âHey there hot stuff how about you join us for the night.â A male voice calls out followed by catcalls from what you believe are his friends. You ignore them picking up speed as you make a beeline for your car. It happens when youâre about an arms length away. Youâre grabbed from behind your keys falling to the ground as you start to struggle.
âCome on baby donât be like that we saw you with those biker punks. So come on you can show us a bit of attention.â The hands that were on you yank you around making you face the group. It was a group of the Surf Naziâs.
âLet me go.â You say as you bring your hand up trying to pry his hand off.
âPlaying hard to get I like that.â The guy says laughing as you attempt to pull away. His grip tightens on you, yanking you closer to him. As his grip tightens you let out a pained cry.
âStop squirming.â He says as one of his hands grab a fistful of your hair. Another pained cry leaving your mouth. Before anything else can happen the roar of bike engines fill the air as four headlights surround you and the guy.
âI believe the lady said to let go.â David says from atop his bike, gloved hands clenching his handle bars tightly. The guy looks at his friends and they all just laugh.
âOr what. Youâre out numbered.â
âBoys.â With that one word the boys descend onto the group. One set of hands is carefully yanking you out of the guys grip and pushing you towards David. Screams fill the air behind you, and you go to turn around before a gloved hand is stopping you.
âYou donât need to see that Doll.â David says as he pulls you closer to him. His free hand comes up to carefully fix your hair.
âDid he hurt you anywhere?â Words evading you all you can do is shake your head no. Your mind was still trying to wrap around everything that was happening. You were being saved by the Lost Boys. The biker gang that everyone in Santa Carla avoided, who they were scared of, but they were helping you.
âHm good.â David says as he looks up at the carnage behind you. His eyes zeroing in on the one who had his hands on you. He was left alone but unable to run away after Marko broke his leg. The rest of the boys knew their brother would want him. For touching his mate that guy signed his own death warrant.
âAlright boys feeding time. Finish up and bring that one back to the cave with us.â David says and your face shows confusion at his words as the screaming begins to quiet down.
âFeeding time?â You mutter to yourself and look up at David.
âFeeding time? What are you talking about? What are you?â At your questions David chuckles.
âWhat am I. Why Iâm yours just as much as youâre mine.â He says as he pulls the cigarette from behind his ear and puts it in his mouth.
âYours?â
âYes mine.â He says after lighting up the cigarette. He slides backwards on his bike making room in front of him. Leaning forward he wraps an arm around your waist and pulls you in front of him.
âSo the Doll wants to know what I am. You hear that boys she wants to know what we are.â
âWho wants to know?â Paul says playfully
âThe Little Lady wants to know.â Marko says. You let out a huff as they mess with you, and then you feel Davidâs hand on your chin making you look up. This time your breath catches in your throat again as you stare at a completely different face. His face looked monstrous his eyes now a reddish yellow, and his teeth now fangs. You look at him in awe and excitement as your hands come up. The boys look on with surprise on their faces from your reaction.
âOh my god youâre vampires.â You say with a small squeal as your hands latch onto Davidâs face, tracing his vampiric features.
âYouâre not afraid.â
âAfraid? No. Excited. Yes.â Your hands keep roaming his face.
âNever seen someone so excited over this.â Marko says from behind you.
âItâs weird they usually scream in fear not excitement.â Paul says as they begin to dispose of all the bodies except for one.
âHow long have you been a vampire? Can you still eat human food? Does garlic actually work on you.â You start rapid firing questions and the boys could barely keep up.
âWoah doll calm down. Iâll answer all the questions you gave back at our cave.â David says as he gently pries your hands away from his face. The boys walk back to their bikes after getting rid of the bodies, Paul carrying the unconscious body of the guy who decided to mess with you. As he passes by Dwayne hands you your car keys that you dropped.
âYouâre riding with me weâll comeback for your car.â David says as he moves you to sit behind him.
âWait before we go does this mean I get to be one of you.â You ask as you wrap your arms around his waist.
âYes youâll become one of us tonight doll, and that piece of garbage will be your first kill. Now hang on tight weâre about to have some fun.â

Cato sat at the long dining table in the Capitol apartment, a heavy silence in the air. Before him was a breakfast fit for a king: steaming eggs, crispy bacon, fresh bread with creamy butter, and exotic fruits he had never seen in District 2. He picked at his food, his appetite dulled by the weight of the morning. Across from him, Clove was eating mechanically, her expression blank, but her fingers were clenched tightly around her fork. Brutus and Enobaria sat at either end of the table, watching them with unreadable expressions.
âEat up,â Brutus said finally, breaking the silence. âYouâll need the energy.â
Cato forced himself to eat, knowing he would regret it if he didnât. The food tasted like nothing. All he could think about was what was to come. The blood, the fight, the survival.
After breakfast, they were escorted down to the launch area. The hallways of the Capitol building were eerily quiet, only the sound of their footsteps echoing off the walls. When they reached the transport bay, a sleek, white hovercraft was waiting. A Peacekeeper checked their identifications and motioned for them to board.
Inside, the hovercraft was cold and sterile. Cato took a seat, Clove beside him. Across from them sat the District 1 tributes, Lucian and Selene, both looking as focused as he felt. No one spoke.
A woman in a white uniform approached, holding a small silver device. Without a word, she grabbed Catoâs arm and injected the tracker just beneath his skin. He barely flinched, only watching as she moved to Clove next. The Capitol always wanted to know where their tributes were. Always watching, always in control.
The hovercraft continued its journey in silence. Cato tried to push all thoughts out of his mind, but a pair of piercing eyes haunted him. Y/N. Was she watching? What was she thinking? He shook the thought away. There was no room for distractions now.
After what felt like an eternity, the hovercraft landed. They were led through a series of underground hallways, eventually being split up into individual preparation rooms. The walls were stark white, the only thing in the room being a chair and a large glass tube in the center. His stylist appeared shortly after, giving him a quick once-over before nodding in approval. There was no need for any touch-ups; the Capitol had already ensured he was in peak condition.
âGood luck,â the stylist said simply before stepping out.
Cato stepped into the tube, heart pounding. The glass slid shut around him, and suddenly, he was rising. The platform beneath his feet hummed, and he gritted his teeth as light flooded his vision.
When the world came into focus, the first thing he noticed was the rain. Heavy, torrential rain. Water pounded against his skin, soaking through his clothes instantly.
Then he looked around.
The arena was vast, stretching as far as he could see. It was designed to resemble a ruined city, overgrown with thick vines and vegetation. Crumbling buildings stood at odd angles, some barely intact, others completely collapsed. The ground was slick with mud and water, the streets filled with deep puddles.
But in the center of it all, standing tall and imposing, was the Cornucopia.
His pulse quickened as he scanned the golden structure. Weapons. Food. Supplies. He could already see the glint of blades, the handles of swords sticking out like a beacon.
Perfect.
He glanced at the other tributes, all standing on their platforms, drenched and waiting. Clove was to his left, her eyes locked on the Cornucopia with the same hunger he felt. To his right was Lucian, jaw clenched, body tense. Across the clearing, the weaker tributes were already shifting on their platforms, nervous, uncertain.
The countdown began.
Sixty seconds.
His muscles coiled, ready. His mind went blank, focusing only on the strategy he had been trained for his entire life. Get to the Cornucopia. Get a weapon. Kill anyone in his way.
Thirty seconds.
The rain blurred his vision slightly, but he didnât care. He had fought in worse conditions before.
Fifteen seconds.
The sound of blood rushing in his ears was the only thing he could hear now.
Ten.
Nine.
Eight.
Seven.
Six.
Five.
Four.
Three.
Two.
One.
The horn sounded.
And Cato ran.
The moment the countdown hit zero, Y/Nâs breath caught in her throat. The screen in front of her flashed as the tributes launched into action. Cato was the fastest. He moved like a predator released from a cage, his powerful legs propelling him across the wet ground. Rain poured down in thick sheets, making the ruined city arena look even more unforgiving. But Cato was undeterred. He reached the Cornucopia first, his hands gripping the hilt of a massive sword the moment he got there.
Lucian from District 1 was next, just a step behind, followed closely by Clove and Selene. The four of them wasted no time. While the weaker tributes hesitated or ran, they armed themselves and began their ruthless work. The Careers had trained for this their entire lives, and now, the bloodbath began.
Y/N felt her stomach turn as Lucian swung a battle axe, embedding it deep into the chest of the male tribute from District 7. The boy barely had time to scream before crumpling to the ground, blood pooling beneath him, mixing with the rain and mud. Selene, the District 1 girl, had a spear in her hands, and with perfect aim, she hurled it at the female tribute from District 5. The spear struck true, piercing through her stomach. The girl gasped, a horrified look on her face before she collapsed, unmoving.
Clove moved like a shadow, her knives flashing as she attacked. The female tribute from District 9 tried to run past her, but Clove was too quick. One blade to the throat and the girl went down instantly. Y/N squeezed her eyes shut, her heart pounding. She had known Clove was lethal, but seeing her best friend kill someone so effortlessly sent a wave of sickness through her.
But nothing compared to watching Cato.
He was a force of destruction. A hurricane of power and skill. The male tribute from District 3 had made the mistake of grabbing a weapon, thinking he could fight. Cato didnât hesitate. He brought his sword down in a brutal, swift arc, slicing through the boyâs chest. Blood sprayed, mixing with the rain, and the tribute crumpled, lifeless.
More tributes tried to flee. The girl from District 4 sprinted away, but Lucian was faster. He tackled her to the ground, pinning her before slitting her throat with a dagger. Selene cut down the female tribute from District 11, her blade quick and merciless.
Y/N wanted to look away, but she couldnât. Every time she tried, her gaze was drawn back to Cato. His sword swung again, and another body fell. The girl from District 9, a desperate look on her face, tried to make it to the treeline, but Clove threw a knife that struck her in the back. She hit the ground face-first, unmoving.
Y/N's hands clenched into fists in her lap. She had known this would happen. Had known what Cato and Clove were capable of. But seeing itâwatching them kill so easilyâmade her chest tighten painfully. She had trained for this, had sparred with them both, but there was a difference between training and reality. Between friendly matches and life-or-death battles.
Her mother placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, but Y/N couldnât react. She was frozen, watching the chaos unfold. The Cornucopia had become a graveyard, bodies scattered across the wet ground, rain washing away the fresh blood.
Only a handful of tributes had made it out alive. The tributes from 12, 10, 8, and 6 had all fled, along with a few others from different districts. They had chosen to run rather than fight, and for now, they had survived.
Cato stood at the center of it all, chest rising and falling steadily. He wiped the blood from his sword on the clothes of a fallen tribute before looking up, scanning the area. Even through the screen, Y/N could see itâthe wild, dangerous glint in his eyes. This was what he had been made for. What he had trained for.
He had never looked more like a victor.
Y/N swallowed the lump in her throat. She should be proud. Cato was proving himself to be the strongest, just like she always knew he would. But all she felt was cold dread settling in her bones. Because the Games had only just begun.
And there was still so much more blood to be spilled.
The bloodbath was over, leaving only the strongest standing. Cato, Lucian, Clove, and Selene wasted no time. While the arena around them was soaked in blood and rain, they focused on what matteredâsecuring supplies. The Cornucopia was theirs. Weapons, food, medical kits, even survival gear. Everything they needed to dominate the arena.
Cato slung a heavy bag of supplies over his shoulder, scanning the area. âWe should move before nightfall,â he said, his voice firm. âThereâs a river nearby. We set up camp there.â
Lucian nodded in agreement, grabbing another backpack. âGood call. Weâll need water.â
They each took what they could carry. Clove stuffed extra knives into her belt, while Selene gathered rope and other essentials. When they had everything they needed, they left the Cornucopia behind, making their way toward the river. The rain had finally started to let up, leaving the ruined city damp and eerily quiet.
They reached the river within minutes. The water flowed steady and clear, reflecting the artificial sky above. The arena was a masterpiece of controlled destructionâhalf nature, half ruins.
Selene stretched, tossing her damp hair over her shoulder. âNot a bad spot,â she said, eyeing Cato with a smirk. âGuess weâll be spending a lot of time together.â
Cato forced a smirk, leaning casually against a broken pillar. âGuess so,â he replied smoothly, meeting her gaze. He could see the interest in her eyes. She was playing the game, just like he was. And that was fine. If he had to play along to secure sponsors, so be it. But she meant nothing to him. Only one person did, and she was far away, watching this nightmare unfold.
Selene stepped closer, tilting her head. âI saw you at training,â she murmured, dragging a finger down his arm. âYou were incredible.â
Cato chuckled, making sure the cameras saw. âYou werenât so bad yourself.â
It was all an act. He played the role of the arrogant, charming Career, just like Brutus had told him. He flirted, smirked, made sure the Capitol saw someone they could adoreâor fear. But in his mind, all he could think about was Y/N. Was she watching this? Did she believe any of it? He hated himself for even pretending.
Night fell quickly. The rain had made the temperature drop, and a cold breeze moved through the ruins. The four of them sat in a circle, eating the food theyâd claimed.
Then, a flicker of light in the distance caught their attention.
âA fire,â Clove whispered, her eyes narrowing.
Cato tensed, gripping his sword. âIdiots.â
Lucian smirked. âLooks like weâve got more work to do.â
They moved swiftly, silently, weaving through the broken buildings. The fire was small, barely noticeable, but in the darkness of the arena, it stood out like a beacon. As they got closer, the voices of the tributes became clearer. The three of themâthe male tribute from District 12, the one from District 8, and the female from District 3âhad gathered together, probably thinking there was safety in numbers.
Fools.
Cato moved first. He was fast, silent, and before the boy from District 8 even realized what was happening, Catoâs sword was buried deep in his side. The tribute gasped, blood bubbling at his lips as he fell.
The girl from District 3 screamed, scrambling to her feet. Clove was on her in an instant, a knife slashing across her throat. She collapsed, choking on her own blood.
The boy from District 12 tried to run. He made it two steps before Lucian tackled him to the ground, pinning him beneath his knee. The tribute struggled, terror in his eyes.
âPleaseââ he started.
Lucian didnât let him finish. He drove his knife straight into the boyâs chest, twisting it before pulling it out. The tribute went still.
Silence fell over the ruins once more, except for the crackling fire and the sound of the rain dripping from the broken buildings.
Selene sighed dramatically, wiping blood from her dagger. âPathetic.â
Cato stared down at the bodies, gripping his sword tightly. This was the game. This was survival. But for the first time, as he wiped the blood from his blade, his mind wasnât on victory.
It was on Y/N.
And whether she was still watching.
The screen flickered, bathing Y/Nâs dimly lit living room in a cold glow. She sat on the couch, rigid, hands clenched together so tightly that her nails dug into her palms. Her parents were beside her, silent, but she could feel her motherâs worried gaze flickering toward her every few seconds.
Caesar Flickermanâs voice rang out, smooth and theatrical as always.
âAnd there we have it, ladies and gentlemen, the Careers staking their claim! What a thrilling first day in the arena!â
Beside him, his fellow commentator, Claudius Templesmith, nodded. âAbsolutely, Caesar. The bloodbath was nothing short of a spectacle. Our tributes from District 1 and 2 played their part well. And look at Cato! The way he moved, the precision, the sheer powerâheâs a real contender.â
Y/N wanted to scream.
She had seen it all. Every brutal second. Every fatal swing of Catoâs sword. Every scream of the dying tributes. And worst of all, she had seen the way Selene touched him. The way he smirked at her. The way he played along.
Claudius chuckled. âAnd letâs not forget Selene from District 1! She certainly seems to have taken a liking to Cato. That little exchange by the riverâwell, I wouldnât be surprised if we have some romance this year!â
Y/Nâs stomach twisted.
âCatoâs got charm, strength, and letâs face it, the looks,â Caesar added with a knowing grin.
Her chest tightened as she recalled his interview. The way he had looked directly into the camera, the way his eyes softened for just a second before he uttered that awful, crushing word:
âNo.â
No one waiting for him back home. No one who mattered.
And now he was flirting with Selene like it meant nothing. Like she meant nothing.
Her breathing grew uneven. She wanted to tell herself she was being irrational, that it was just a tactic, that this didnât change anything. But the image of Selene leaning into him, the way he didnât push her awayâit played over and over again in her mind.
âY/N,â her mother whispered gently, placing a hand on her arm.
She flinched. âIâm fine.â
But she wasnât fine. She wasnât fine at all.
On screen, the scene shifted to nightfall in the arena. The rain had finally stopped, and the Careers were gathered around a fire, eating, laughing. Y/Nâs gut twisted as she watched Cato sitting next to Selene. He wasnât smiling, not really, but there was something practiced in the way he spoke to her, in the way he let her brush her fingers along his arm.
She felt sick.
âLook at them, completely at ease,â Claudius remarked. âAnd they should be. They dominated the Cornucopia. They have the supplies, the weapons, and letâs not forgetâCato was the first to reach the Cornucopia, making a clear statement to the other tributes.â
âHeâs ruthless,â Caesar agreed, shaking his head with admiration. âThe way he took down the District 8 tributeâbrutal. Efficient.â
Y/N squeezed her eyes shut, willing herself to block it all out, but the sounds wouldnât stop. The clash of metal, the cries of pain, the sickening finality of death. And worst of all, Catoâs cold, calculated movements. This wasnât the boy she had grown up with. This wasnât the boy she loved.
Or maybe it was. Maybe this was always part of him, hidden beneath the surface, waiting for the right moment to emerge.
The thought made her stomach turn.
And then the scene changed again. A flicker of light in the darknessâa fire.
âOh, this is a mistake,â Caesar commented. âA huge mistake.â
The Careers moved through the ruins like predators hunting prey. Y/Nâs heart pounded as she watched Cato lead the charge, his steps sure and silent. The tributes by the fire never even had a chance.
The boy from District 8âdead in an instant, Catoâs sword cutting him down before he could react. The girl from District 3âCloveâs knife at her throat, gone in seconds. And the boy from 12âhe begged. He tried to run. But Lucian ended it just as quickly.
The camera zoomed in on Catoâs face. His expression was unreadable, but his grip on his sword was tight. Y/N knew that grip. She had seen it a thousand times when they sparred together. When he was angry. When he was struggling with something he wouldnât say out loud.
But it didnât matter. Not now. Not when his hands were coated in blood and the arena had claimed him completely.
She stood abruptly.
âY/N?â her mother asked, worried.
âI need some air.â
She didnât wait for a response before stepping outside, letting the cold night air hit her.
Cato was alive.
But she didnât know if she wanted to keep watching.

You were thrown into the dank brig of a marine vessel, the force of the action enough to send you falling to the ground, your bound hands barking in pain as you tried to keep yourself upright. A small huff in the corner of the cell has you turning your head. When you turn you come face to face with your dragon, Eryx. You shuffle closer to him taking note of the muzzle on his face and the ropes binding his wings.
The two marines who had been commanded to bring you down here spat filthy insults your way. Insults you should have brushed off and forgotten about, but you have never been good at taking such things. Had always let them get under your skin--get you angry and upset. And seeing the sight of your dragon bound up like this only added more fuel.
Snapping your head around, teeth bared in a nasty snarl, you watched the door slam shut behind you.
âYou fucking spoon-fed idiots!â You hissed up at the two marines who had been ready to leave before you had spoken. âYou have some nerve doing this to m--â The taller one slammed his fist against the bars of your prison, causing a loud bang to ring through the metal walls.Â
You hardly flinched. Hardly bat an eye. A low growl is heard from Eryx as he brings his tail in front of your body.Youâd dealt with some of the most terrifying big bads the East Blue had to offer. Big bads who thrived off chaos and ate babies for breakfast. These two goody-two-shoes marines would never in their wildest dreams live up to those creatures. Never utterly terrify you.Â
âWe know everything about you. We know of your failed run as a bounty hunter with this monster. We know you killed a respected and loved member of our community--you are a criminal. Nothing but a no-good pirate. And your dragon will be so helpful for the world government.â He shot down at you in an air of superiority. Like you were nothing but the dirt under his shoes.Â
A criminal. A no-good pirate. And threatening your dragon. Those few words were worse than any insult one could possibly conjure and spit at you. Worse than physically getting slapped in the face.Â
You were by no means a good person, but a criminal--you were far from being a criminal. Not in the same sense as those youâd hunted down. Those who had done true evil in this world. Who had hurt innocent people--children. Criminals like their respected and loved community members. A, now-dead, marine commodore. A commodore who had gone too far in life without getting punished for his crimes.Â
Crimes you punished him for. And wanting to use your dragon to commit more crimes on innocents just boiled your blood.
Too bad they took away your swords and daggers or else you wouldâve cut them down. The two marines keep taunting you, when suddenly an explosion is heard and you are thrown to the side. Before you can make impact with the wall Eryxâs tail is stopping the impact.
âThanks boy.â You mutter as you pat his tail. The two marines quickly shake their shock off and take off towards the stairs. The sound of fighting and crazed laughter can be heard from your cell as you start to pry the muzzle off of Eryx.
âJust a little more and yes it came off.â After a bit more prying the muzzle finally breaks and it falls to the floor with a thump.
âAlright boy letâs blow this popsicle stand.â
You hold out your shackled hands and Eryx snaps them with his teeth.Once your hands are free you move and free his wings. Eryx blasts the cell open and you take off towards the stairs with him right behind you. You squint your eyes as they are assaulted with sunlight. When your eyes have adjusted you see a bunch of pirates engaged with the marines. You hold your finger up to your lips as you look at Eryx and then you quietly slip towards the crate where your weapons are. Good thing they threw them in there when you were still within sight. After prying the box open you quickly strap your sword to your back and your daggers to your thigh.
You creep back to Eryx and climb up on his back. Eryx gets ready to take off when suddenly you are being knocked off his back by a pirate with long dark hair that had alternating green stripes along one side of his hair. You couldnât see the lower half of the man's face as it was covered by a large checkered scarf. You both land on the deck with a thump. Following that pirate is a marine with his sword drawn, the pirate is still sprawled out on the deck so you quickly draw your sword and deflect the on coming one. A small grunt leaves your lips as you push the marine back. The sound of the two swords clashing echo through the air as you continue to push the marine back. The pirate that crashed into you was now back on his feet and fighting another marine. A soft whistle leaves your mouth and Eryxâs tail swings from behind the marine. His tail makes contact with the marine and sends them flying into the wall.
âGood boy Eryx.â You sheath your sword once again and quickly climb back on his back. You give out another whistle and Eryx takes off from the deck. He circles above the ship as you look around the deck, looking for the pirate captain. Your eyes zero in on a pirate that dons a striped white and red shirt with, white gloves, a sash around his waist like many other pirates, and a pair of loose pants reaching to his calves, just above a pair of striped socks and pointy shoes. He also has a scarf around his neck. Hanging from his shoulders there is an orange, fur-lined captain's coat. On his head he has an orange hat with his jolly roger on it, over a neckerchief with the same pattern of his shirt.
âthat must be the captainâ you think to yourself as you lower Eryx down.
âOi pirate captain.â You yell out as Eryx continues to circle. Buggy looks up from his spot when he hears a female voice yell at him. His eyes zero in on the massive dragon above him and then he notices the head poking out from the side.
âIf you donât want you or your crew at the bottom of the see leave the ship.â You yell out as you nudge Eryxâs side. He dives closer to the ship as you notice the pirate crew making their way back go the ship. Once all of them have made it you let out a sharp whistle. Eryx hears the whistle and opens his mouth, his saliva trails out over the deck as the marines scramble around the ship. He circles again and he lights the saliva he left. Once the sparks make contact the deck goes up in flames. Another sharp whistle leaves your mouth and he turns his body completely flying on his side you reach for one of your daggers and pull it out of the sheath. You pull the end of the dagger off revealing a secret compartment full of gun powder. With one tilt of the dagger the gun powder is landing on the deck and an explosion follows as Eryx straightens back up. The air is then pierced with laughter as you circle above the ship watching the marines flounder in the water.
Buggy stands on the deck of his ship looking at the dragon above him. The dragon was a woody-brown color , with a cream underbelly, and blue highlights with bright lilac and white hints on wings and underbelly. The dragon had two pairs of wings, three tail fins, head frills, and what looked like a smashed face. His eyes then go to the rider they had (h/l) (h/c). They were covered in what looked like scaled armor and had a sword strapped to their back.
âGET THEM ON THIS SHIP. I WANT THEM ON THIS CREW.â He yells out and the crew scrambles to get the dragon rider on the ship.
You continue to circle above the ships when you hear yelling from below you and you look towards the pirate ship. You saw a brightly colored ship, which imitates a circus feel. It has many circus tent designs on it. Its figurehead is an elephant with the trunk as a cannon. You notice the crew of the ship readying ropes and look at them in confusion before it dawns on you. They wanted to capture you, but you werenât gonna let them harm Eryx after what the marines did.
âCome on boy letâs go see what these pirates want.â You nudge his side and he dives towards the brightly colored ship. The crew sees the dragon getting closer and they stop running around as the watch you get closer.
Eryx lands on the deck with a heavy thump and you stay seated on your saddle as the crew parts to let Buggy through. And man was this captain handsome up close. The first thing you noticed wasnât the red nose on his face, it was the beautiful sea colored eyes. He had two blue triangles above his eyes, and above those were two bones crossing into an X on his forehead. His red lipstick was painted into a big smile on his face.
âWell well hello there Little Rider. What you did was pretty flashy.â
You cross your arms across your chest as he circles around Eryx.
âWhat do you want pirate captain. I saw your crew preparing to capture us.â
A laugh escapes his lips as he stops infront of Eryx.
âStraight to the point Little Rider. What I want is you on my crew.â
âYeahhhh no hard pass.â
âCome on Little Rider. Join my group of freaks we donât bite.â A menacing smile makes it away across his face. âWell not hard anyway.â
âIâm not interested. Iâm a dragon rider not a pirate.â
âBut arenât ya tired of the pesky marines hunting you down. That little stunt you pulled along with killing their commodore will make you a pirate in their eyes. Hell youâre gonna get a bounty now.â
Your eyes widen slightly at this information as it fully dawns on you. Your own actions will make you become a pirate to the government. And with Eryx many people will be coming after your head.
âSo join my group of freaks Little Rider.â
And that is how you became apart of the Buggy pirates. And true to what Buggy said a few days after you joined you got your first ever bounty. The News Coo delivered the paper during breakfast. The wanted posters already being looked at and cheers follow shortly at the increase of Buggyâs bounty. You were in the middle of feeding Eryx a bucket of fish when a detached hand floated in front of you with a brown piece of paper. You take the paper from the hand and look back to where Buggy was lounging on his chair at the head of the table. You look back towards the paper and your eyes widen when you realize itâs your bounty poster.
âWantedâ
The Dragon Queen
Dead or Alive
30,000,000
And the picture was from the day you met the Buggy pirates. It captured the moment you were on Eryxâs back head tilted back in laughter as the marine ship burned below you.
The poster is taken out of your hand as Buggy stands in front of you.
âWell my freaks our Little Rider has her first bounty.â He yells out as he holds the poster in his hand. All of the crew cheers as you look up at your captain.
A few weeks go by since youâve joined the crew. You werenât apart of the act that Buggy put on. Instead he sent you out on missions to gather information, or to find treasure maps. And when you were on the ship you were kept by his side along with Eryx who has befriended Mohjiâs lion Richie. And youâve also befriended the pirate that crashed into you that day. His name was Cabaji, he was the swordsman of the crew. When you werenât with Buggy or on a mission you were with Cabaji practicing sword fighting or you were knife throwing. Youâve also became great friends with Alvida, you even make her hair accessories with Eryxâs scales. She saw you working on your armor one day and was curious if the dragon scales could make jewelry.
And currently you are on the deck of the ship working on some new armor with Eryxâs shedded scales as Buggy,Mohji, and Cabaji look for treasure on the island. Itâs not long before Buggy comes back empty handed and angry. You donât catch what heâs saying but you do hear Alvida when she speaks up from her couch.
âItâs no time to horse around you guys. If you canât find out where Luffy is, how exactly are you planning to beat him.â
âAh so itâs about Luffyâ You think to yourself already knowing about Buggyâs weird obsession with the Strawhat. You see Buggy lift a hand and wave her off.
âDonât be so uptight Alvida. Nothingâs wrong with having fun for now. Right.â You shake your head with a smile on your face as Buggy laughs. You put on the last few scales of your armor when you hear a familiar voice and you lift your head up.
âLuffy you say? If you wanna see Luffy Iâll tell you where he is.â
âSee. Heâll tell us Luffyâs whereabouts.â Buggy says with his usual smile on his face. That smiles falls off his face when he realizes that it wasnât one of his crew who said it.
âWho the hell are you?!â You turn your head to where Buggy is looking already having an idea of who it is. A tall muscular young man with curly black hair and a tattoo on his back purple bones formed in a cross behind a purple skull with a white mustache the symbol of the whitebeard pirates. The other tattoo on his upper left bicep that spells "ASCE" vertically. And on top of his head was a signature orange hat. You quickly set your armor down and get up working your way through the crew to get to where Ace was standing.
âOh sorry for interrupting your party. I was brought forth by the quite appetizing smell of food. My name is Ace nice to meet you.â He says with a small bow towards Buggy.
âOh no need to be so formal. Nice to meet you too.â Buggy says with a smile as Ace brings a piece if meat to his mouth and takes a bite. Then Buggyâs smile falls again.
âIâm asking you what youâre doing here!!! I donât care about your name. What a flashy insolent attitude.â
âC-Captain. This guy is⊠Fire Fist.Fire Fist Ace. Heâs the captain of Whitebeardâs second division.â Cabaji says.
âWhitebeard!!â The crew exclaims.
âOh you guys know my boss? Thatâs cool-â Ace begins then he stops as he falls asleep.
âHE FELL ASLEEP!â You continue to push through the crew now with Eryxâs help and you catch Mohji talking to Buggy.
âNo.â
âWhy this is a great opportunity any way you look at it.If we defeat Fire Fist Ace weâll become instantly famous.â
âI SAID NO!!! Listen up guys. Remember this flashily. No matter what happens never mess with the Whitebeard Pirates.WhiteBeard is a legendary monster. Heâs the only one who fought neck and neck with Roger, the King of the Pirates.Heâs now without a doubt the worldâs strongest pirate.Heâs the man closest to the secret treasure, One Piece. And above all Whitebeard never forgives the killing of one of his own.Never. Heâs that kind of man.â
â You sure know an awful lot about him.â
âOf courseâŠLong ago I met him in person here on the Grand Line.â The crew that was gathered around Ace jump back as he sits up.
âSorry about that.â He says with a yawn. You finally push the last crew member out of the way and see Ace.
âACE!!!â You shout as you tackle him in a hug. He letâs out a small oof as you collide with him as the crew and Buggy stare in shock. Once Ace getâs over the surprise of you tackle he smiles.
âLittle Storm! I was wondering where you ended up.â He hugs you back before giving you a smack on the head.
âDo you know how worried Pops was when we havenât heard from you.â
âOw Ace you didnât have to hit me.â You say with a pout as you rub the sore spot. Buggy watches you interact with Ace and he feels an uncomfortable feeling in his chest.
âWHAT THATCH IS DEAD!â The crew all jump in surprise at your shout and they see Ace with a serious look on his face.
âYes. Teach killed him for a devil fruit. Thatâs why Iâm out here. Iâm hunting him.â Ace says as he puts a hand on your shoulder as you look up at him in shock. Eryx senses the change in your emotions and nudges his head against your back gently.
âDonât worry Little Storm Iâm gonna make him pay.â
âI know make sure to beat that son of bitch Ace.â He smiles as he ruffles your hair and then he hands you a piece of paper.
âI will Little Storm. Here take this make sure to keep it safe for me okay.â You nod as you take the piece of paper from him. He stands up from his spot and turns to Buggy.
âSorry for appearing on your ship out of no where. I will be going now, Iâm glad you found a crew Little Storm and I know Pops will be happy to hear it.â He jumps on the rail of the ship, and before he jumps to his glider he looks at Buggy.
âTake care of Little Storm or youâll have to deal with their brothers.â And with one final wave he jumps to his glider and takes off. Once he is out of sight everyone turns to you bombarding you with questions.
âHow do you know Ace?â
âWere you really with the WhiteBeard pirates?â
âWhat did Ace mean by brothers.â
The crew gets closer around you as you try to take a step back from everyone.
âOi shitdiots back it up. Now.â Buggyâs voice carryâs over the crew as he shoves the closest members away from you as he puts himself between the crew and you. Once everyone is far enough to his liking and quiet he turns to you.
âHow do you know Ace and Whitebeard Little Rider.â
âI first met them a few months after Eryx and I left our island in the North Blue.â Eryx pushes his head against your hand and you stroke the spot in between his two horns.
âIt was my first ever run in with the marines. They managed to injure Eryx and we fell into the sea, even with his injury Eryx was able to keep us both afloat after the marines left. They thought we would be taken out by the sea,but we werenât we were stuck in the sea for hours. And with Eryxâs injury at the time he started to get weaker the longer we were there.â
Your hand moves to the scar the marines left by his wing as you tell your story. The crew now sitting around you like little kids.
âLuckily I was on the edge of Whitebeardâs territory and they were sailing past when they spotted me. They pulled us a board their ship and after they treated our wounds. It took a few weeks for Eryxâs wound to heal so we stayed with them. Pops tried to get me to join them once Eryx was healed but I wasnât looking to join a crew so they let me leave. But I became an honorary WhiteBeard pirate and unfortunately gained hundreds of new brothers.â A small smile makes it way onto your face before it disappears remembering what Ace told you.
âI swear when I get my hands on Teach Iâm gonna make him regret being born and Iâm gonna feed him to Eryx.â Eryx letâs out a small growl of agreement as the rest of the crew take a step back from your anger.
âWell Little Rider youâll have plenty of time to plan out what youâll do to that traitor. Weâll make sure of that.â Buggy says with a sinister smile on his face and you mirror it back with your own.
âNow letâs party.â The crew cheers as they bring out more barrels of booze. Buggy throws his arm over you shoulder and he brings you with him to his throne like chair. He releases your shoulder to sit on his throne, and looks at you as he pats his thigh.
âCome on Little Rider you sit with the Captain today.â He says with a small smirk on his and when he sees you hesitating he detaches one of of his hands with a pop. Then suddenly youâre shoved forward and you land in his lap as he hand reconnects.
âAhh there we go.â He brings his arm around your waist knowing that you try to scramble away.
âNow my little rider letâs discuss your next mission.â
That was the last conversation you had with your captain before he was imprisoned. Itâs been about 7 months since youâve seen him. You and Eryx met at the rendezvous point like planned, but you were met with a captainless crew. And then the paper Ace had given you started to burn.
âERYX COME ON BUDDY ACE NEEDS OUR HELP.â You put on your armor as Eryx takes off from the deck and circles to your side of the ship. You take off running across the deck and jump over the railing landing on your saddle then Eryx shoots off from the island.
The sound of metal clashing against metal fills the air. Marines and pirates alike are spread out fighting. And Buggy is seen in a tornado of sand. Two hands grab Buggy and yank him out .
âOh you save-â He starts but is caught off by a blade slicing him.
ââŠJet Human Shield.â Buggyâs upper body turns to Luffy as he grabs him by his vest.
âYOU! Whatâre you doing? Strawhat!â
âWhat Iâm not the one who cut you.Plus you just said âDonât mind me! Iâm here to save you.ââ
âHow deluded is your hearing?â
âGum gum human shield.â Luffy yells as he brings Buggyâs torso in front of him.
âSTOP IT.â Mihawk brings his sword up again and slices Buggy into shreads.
âI CANâT TAKE IT! You must be âHawk-eyeââ Buggy says as he puts himself back together. His foot shoots out a red ball and it heads towards Mihawk.
âThe special Muggy Ball! Blow away.â Mihawk brings his sword in front of him and hits the ball back at Buggy. An explosion happens and Luffy uses this moment to run towards where Ace is. The battlefield stills as the two guards by Ace get ready to bring their swords down.
âACE!!!!!â Is heard from everyone around the battle field. Before the blades make contact with Aceâs neck the guards are blasted away by sand. Sengoku turns back to the battlefield looking to see who took our his guards.
âWho did this!?â In the center of hundreds of marine soldiers stands Crocodile. His jacket flowing behind him in the wind as the soldiers raise their weapons towards him.
âYou bastard! I thought it was to our advantage to have you since you hold a grudge against Whitebeard.Crocodile!â
âI can kill that old, dying buzzard later. But before that I donât want to let you taste victory.â And with that the battle continues as Luffy still fights towards Ace.
Suddenly a deafening roar is heard through the air and everyone looks to the sky. Eryx cuts through the air as Marineford comes into sight for you. He lets out a roar as you get closer and you look around the battlefield for Ace. You finally see him chained to the platform as well as the familiar flash of blue hair on the battlefield. You stand on the saddle and unsheath your sword as you shout.
âACEâ Everyone stands still as the massive dragon gets closer.
âLITTLE RIDERâ
âLITTLE STORMâ
âITS THE DRAGON QUEEN.â
âERYX DRIFT.â You brace yourself as Eryx draws closer to the platform where Ace is. Once he is close enough Eryx turns on his side and you push your feet against the saddle using it to launch yourself to where Ace is. You bring your sword in front of you and slice through the chains that are holding Ace to the platform. You let out a sharp whistle and Eryx circles back to you dodging bullets as he goes. You pull Ace up with you,and when Eryx is close you throw the both of you off the platform.
âERYX GO TO POPS AND GET THEM OUT OF HERE.â You yell out as you stand on the saddle as Eryx glides above the battle.
âLittle Storm what are you doing.â
âGetting you and Pops out of here Fire Breath.â You give him a kiss on the cheek and quickly give Eryx a pat on the head.
âTake care of them Eryx.â You jump off the saddle and pull open your arms using the newly added wings of your armor.
âLITTLE STORM!â You hear Ace yell from behind you as Eryx continues to fly.
Eryx lands on the ground in front of Whitebeard a with deafening thump. Whitebeard looks at his childs dragon as his son scrambles off the saddle.
âThey sent you to get Ace and I away huh.â Eryx lets out a huff in agreement as Whitebeard lets out a sigh.
âOf course. MY SONS GO BACK TO THE SHIP WE HAVE ACE.â
âBUT POPS WHAT ABOUT LITTLE STORM.â
âTHEYâLL BE FINE MY SONS NOW HURRY WHY WE HAVE THIS OPPORTUNITY.â Marco quickly grabs Ace and begins to drag the struggling pirate to the ship as Whitebeard looks to where you are.
âBe careful my child.â
You slash through the marines wanting to give as much time as possible so Ace can escape. As you engage with another marine you donât notice the second one slipping behind you with a sword. Before the sword can make contact with you the marine is knocked out by a gloved hand.
âDONâT TOUCH MY LITTLE RIDER.â
âCAPTAIN.â You exclaim as you hear Buggy behind you. Suddenly dozens of prisoners from Impel Down come out helping you fight off the marines.
âMiss me Little Rider.â He says with his signature smile on his face. Before your mind processes what you are doing, you launch yourself at Buggy wrapping your arms around him. He stumbles slightly before regaining his balance and bringing his arms around you holding you tightly against his chest.
You pull away slightly and look up at him with a smile.
âReady to show them how flashy the Buggy Pirates are captain.â
âYou know it Little Rider.â And with that you both spring back into the fight.
âSTRAW-BOY GET OUT THE WAY.â You hear a voice yell and turn around. And you see Luffy reaching for something on the ground as one of the Admiralâs goes towards him. Youâre moving before you realize and shove Luffy out of the way of the punch. You let out a scream as the magma burns through your armor.
âLITTLE STORM!!â
âLITTLE RIDER!!â You hear voices call out to you as everything becomes muffled. Another deafening roar fills the air as Eryx cuts through the air to where you lay on the ground. He crouches protectively over your body as he blasts away the marines that surrounded you.
âGET AWAY FROM THEM YOU BASTARDS.â
Explosions are heard as Buggy blasts his way through the crowd making his way to where Eryx is crouching over you. Akainu brings his fist up again preparing to strike Luffy who was looking at Eryx and you. Before his fist could make contact with him his punch is blocked by a sword. The entire battle field stills at the appearance of Shanks. And a new ship makes it way into port.
âWhy is one of the four emperors from the New World here!?â
âRed Haired Shanks!ââšShanks sheaths his sword as he steps between Luffy and Akainu. You feel two hands carefully lift you and begin to move you away. You open your eyes to see who it is but all you see is detached hands.
âBuggyâ You murmur as your eyes slide back close knowing that youâll be safe. Buggyâs hands continue to move you until your on the side of the battlefield beside him.
âI gotcha Sweets.â He says as he leans you against a broken wall. Buggy lets out a small whistle to Eryx who carefully picks Luffy up by the back of his vest and carries him over as Shanks stands against Akainu. Buggy carefully lifts you up and sets you on the saddle on Eryxâs back.
âCome on Strawhat climb on we need to get to Whitebeardâs ship.â Buggy climbs up onto Eryxâs saddle and puts you in his lap as Luffy climbs on behind him.
âI know Iâm not Little Rider but letâs get out of here.â Eryx spreads his wings and takes off from the ground as everyone begins to retreat.
Eryx glides carefully through the air not wanting to cause you any more pain.
He starts to lower in the sky as he gets closer to Whitebeardâs ship. The crew moves on the ship making room for Eryx to land, and he lands on the ship with a thump as Buggy jumps on his back.
âHurry Akainu burned them we need to treat it.â Marco pushes through the crowd and runs over to where Buggy is laying you on the deck as he cushions your head.
âLuffy!â Ace yells as he runs to his little brother.
âAce!!â Luffy cries out as he wraps his arms around Ace and attaches to him like a koala. As Luffy and Ace have their little reunion Marco is carefully healing your wounds as Buggy watches with a worried filled face.
âTheyâll be okay thankfully Eryxâs scales can handle that type of heat yoi.â You slowly start to come too as Marco continues to heal you. You let out a small whimper as you feel some of the burns.
âShh its okay Little Rider. Heâs almost done.â
âC-Captain. Pops and Ace?â Before Buggy can respond another voice cuts him off.
âWeâre okay Little Storm you saved us. Marco once you are done treating them bring them and the other snot nosed brat to Little Stormâs room.â
âHey who are you calling a snot nosed brat you old man.â Buggy shouts as he carefully lifts your head off of his lap.
âTHATS WHAT IâM CALLING YOU. YOU BRAT.â
Before Buggy can get any further you reach a hand out a grab his arm.
âCaptain leave Pops alone.â He letâs out a huff and sits back down as you move your head back to his lap. Eryx curls up around the three of you as Luffy wrestles with Ace.
âAnd done Little Storm.â Marco says as he gets up.
âCome on Iâll show you where their room is. Fossa bring Eryx to his normal spot yoi.â Buggy gets up and lifts you up in his arms. He follows Marco down the hallways of the ship.
âThis is their room if they need anything just ask them for directions. Oh and Buggy treat our sister good because Pops wonât hesitate to throw you over board yoi.â And with that Marco goes back down the hall and out to the deck. Buggy opens the door to the room and steps in.
âAlright Little Rider lets get you in bed you earned it.â He gently lays you on your bed and carefully pulls your armor off your shoulders and arms. He goes to take a step back but your hand on his arm stops him.
âDonât go Captain. â He stands there as his emotions fight each other.
âAhh screw it.â He mutters as he takes the hat off of his head and lays the coat he was wearing on the chair. He carefully lays in the bed beside you. You donât like how far he is from you so you move closer and lay your head on his chest. Buggy tenses up slightly at this not knowing what to do. He slowly brings his arm up and wraps it around your waist carefully as his body relaxs when you snuggle into his chest.
âMissed you captain.â
âBuggy.â He mutters
âHuh what was that.â
âCall me Buggy.â
âOkay Buggy. I missed you was worried.â You mutter as you bury your face into his chest.
âMissed you too Little Rider.â You hear him say as you feel a kiss on top of your head.

When Bella moved to Forks she was surprised to not see her sister there. Well adopted, after Renee took her and left Forks, her father was heartbroken. He slowly worked his way up and became chief of police. And on one of his usual patrols he found a young child wandering out of the woods. The child was covered in dirt and her hair stuck up like she was struck by lightning. He quickly pulled his car over and bundled the child up in his jacket before putting them in the car. He had brought the child to the hospital, and stayed there for a few days as the child recovered. The only thing that the child could remember is her name, and her age. No one came forward to claim the child, and Charlie didnât want to send her into the foster system so he adopted her.
Renee and Bella leaving left a hole in his heart, but it was slowly healing with the help of your presence. You grew up in the town of Forks and everyone loved you. You were the towns local sweetheart, and you were kind to everyone. And when Bella came to visit you made sure to make her feel comfortable. You grew close with her even though you were a little older than her. And when she stopped coming for the summer you were going with Charlie to California. As you got older you would notice weird things happening. When storms were coming, you were drawn to them. When they would come in you would be on one of the cliffs letting the wind blow through your hair. And when you would touch metal you would feel a small zap.
And then one day everything fell in place. Yo had been on the cliffs, your legs dangling over it as a storm brewed. As you watched the clouds move across the sky a bright light flashed beside you. You turned your head and beside you was a man, a beautiful man. He was tall with long orange hair and pointed ears. He introduced himself as Professor Palladium, a teacher from Alfea the College for Faires. At first you had laughed at how ridiculous it sounded until he showed you the proof. And then you were whisked away to Alfea after saying goodbye to Charlie. You were still home for the visits with Bella but she didnât know the truth. It stayed between you and Charlie, who now new about the supernatural world on earth. You knew how dangerous it was from him to know the truths of other supernaturals so you both agreed for him to play dumb.
Since you were in the magical dimension with your friends, known as the Winx, you missed everything that happened with Bella. You werenât there when James attacked her, when the Cullenâs left, her trip to Italy or the Newborn army. Even though you werenât there Charlie still kept you updated on everything that you missed. And when you found out about Bella being drug into the supernatural world, you were pissed to say the least.
You were celebrating the defeat of the Dark Wizard Valtor when you received the call from Earth. Charlie had visited the Cullenâs after Bellaâs honeymoon, and he found a newly turned Bella. He still pretended to not know anything as he saw his other daughter and was introduced to his granddaughter. He called to tell you everything that he found out, and not long after that call you received one from Bella. She was asking you to come home to visit her,and of course you couldnât say no. What you didnât know however was the predicament that the Cullenâs and Bella had gotten themselves into. And that leads us to where we are now. In a snowy clearing two groups of vampires are seen. On one side with the wolves were the Cullens and on the other side dressed in black cloaks were the Volturi.
"Aro, let us discuss things as we used to do.
In a civilized manner." Carlisle stepped forward and spoke surely and clearly.
"Fair words, Carlisle." Aro said. "But a little out of place, given the battalion you've assembled against us."
"I can promise you, that was never my intent." Carlisle said. Everyone watched Aro peek around him at Renesmee. Bella glared at him and held her closely.
"No laws have been broken."
"We see the child." Caius stated firmly. "Do not treat us as fool's."
"She is not an immortal!" Carlisle shouted.
"These witnesses can attest to that. Or you can look." He gestured back to Renesmee with his hand. "See the flush of human blood in her cheeks."
"Artifice!" Caius shouted back.
"I will collect every facet of the truth." Aro held up a hand to silence them. "But from someone more central to the story. Edward, as the child clings to your newborn mate, I assume you are involved." He held out a hand and walked a few steps forward.
Edward gave Bella a look and then walked forward towards the Volturi member's.
Aro took Edwards's hand in his own, cupping it, reading his mind. Aro's face went through a series of emotions, before he dropped his hand and looked over at Renesmee and Bella again.
"I'd like to meet her." He said intrigued.
Edward hesitantly turned around and gave them a look, telling them to come forward. Bella grabbed Renesmeeâs hand and began walking forward with Jacob by their side. After a few steps she stops and turns back to where Emmett stood with Rosalie. Without a word being said he starts walking with them to where Aro stood with Edward.
"Ah." Aro said as we all arrived. The smile on his face was big. "Young Bella." He elongated her name.
"Immortality becomes you." Aro listened to the sound of Renesmeeâs beating heart, and laughed his high pitched sound.
"I hear her strange heart."
Renesmee looked up at Bella and she nodded. Reassuring her it was okay. Aro bent down slightly looking at her. Renesmee slowly walked away from Bella toward's him ready to show him everything, just as she'd done so many times before. Jacob let out a low growl.
Edward and Bella tensed, standing together.
Emmett stood ready to stop anyone in who had any idea's on harming her.
Aro's hand, went out toward's Renesmee, but she stayed serious and looked up at him ignoring his hand.
"Hello, Aro." Her sweet voice came out soft and serious.
Renesmee slowly moved her hand toward's Aro's face, confusing him for a moment, until she touched his cheek. His face showed complete amusement.
"Magnifico." Aro said softly. His face once full of wonder and curiosity, turned sullen and he backed away from her. Bella quickly stepped forward and pulled Renesmee back toward's her.
"Half mortal, half immortal. Conceived and carried by this newborn, while she was still human." He gestured back to me, speaking every word slowly.
"Impossible!" Caius scoffed. Jacob began snarling as Aro whipped his head around toward him. Edward, quickly ushering them all back toward's the family behind them.
"Do you think they fooled me, brother?"
Jacob snarled once before walking back with them. Which the Volturi found amusing. Caius never stopped gazing at Aro and called out behind him.
"Bring the informer forward." The guard brought Irina forward and everyone moved closer with them. She gave a sorrowful glance to her sister's.
"Is that the child you saw?" Caius asked, pointing a finger at them as they reached the rest of them family.
Irina looked at the small family before looking at the ground.
"I-I'm not sure."
"Jane." Caius called out to her, for her to use her gift's.
"She's changed." Irina said quickly. "This child is bigger." Her voice filled with emotion.
"Then your allegation's were false." Caius stated.
"The Cullen's are innocent. I take full responsibility for my mistake." Irina looked over to her sister's, Tanya and Kate, mouthing to them that she was sorry.
One of the guard member's, lit up a flame.
Everyone stood still watching as the following event's unfolded before them.
"Caius, no!" Edward shouted, realizing whatever it was before them all.
Felix, stepped forward and swiftly, took Irina's head from her body. Caius grabbing the flame and bringing it down on her body.
"Irina!" Tanya and Kate screamed for their sister. The two blonde's ran forward screaming in agony at them.
Many member's of the group attempted to grab them. Bella grabbed Renesmee and placed her on Jacob's back, putting the backpack she packed on her. Emmett dashed after Tanya and Eleazar tried to get Kate, only to be zapped away. Garrett came up behind her and wrapped his arm's around her tightly. She was shocking him with everything she had.
"Blind them." Emmett said to Zafrina.
Both Kate and Tanya immediately stopped struggling as hard, given that they couldn't see.
"Give me my sight back." Tanya shook with anger.
"Tanya, this is what they want. If you attack now, we'll die" Edward walked over and spoke softly to her.
As they try to calm the two sisters down, a clap of thunder is heard and a rain shower pours over Irinaâs burning body. The rain successfully puts the fire out before Irina can turn to ash. Everyone stands absolutely still as this unfold in front of them. The sisters now being able to see, can see their sisters body that was still intact other than a few burns on the ground.
âNow that just wouldnât do.â You say as you walk out of the woods line, your boots crunching on the snow.
Bella breathes your name out in horror.
âI swear Bells I canât leave you alone for five minutes. I leave for school and you manage to bone a vampire and make a little hybrid.â You say as you shake your head in mock disappointment.
âWho is that?â
âWhy is there a human here?â
Murmurs are heard across the clearing as you reach where Bella is standing.
âNow where is my niece that Dad told me all about.â You say before spotting Renesmee on top of Jacob.
âAh there she is. She has your eyes Bells, but I believe weâll have time for introductions later. Now I believe I have a body to retrieve.â You say as you turn and begin walking toward the Volturi.
âWait. You canât-â Bella says trying to stop you.
âBells trust me I can handle myself.â You say before continuing on your path. Your eyes trail over the line of menacing vampires. You knew very little about the Volturi, but you were able to figure out who was in charge. They all had matching red eyes, but that was the only matching feature. Your eyes trailed over the leaders, the first one was a tall man with long brown hair. His face looked like he was full of sorrow, and could turn to dust at any moment. The next one was an average height man with long black hair, and a sinister smile. And finally the last one was a blonde man that stood with a menacing look, but that look changed when your eyes met. Something felt like everything suddenly clicked into place.Caiusâs piercing gaze locked onto yours, his usual icy demeanor faltering as something unspoken passed between you. His jaw tightened, his expression a storm of resistance and disbelief, but his eyes betrayed him, beneath the veneer of control, they burned with recognition.
You mentally shook yourself, wanting to stay focused on the task at hand.
âSo it seems you have brought another human into the midst Carlisle.â The man with the black hair says as you slowly get closer. You let out a snort at his words as you stop a few feet away from them.
âA human you say. Well sorry you big disco ball, but Iâm not human.â You say as you lean down and begin to pull Irinaâs body towards you.
âHow dare you-â Alec says as black mist begins to leave his hands, but he stops when Aro raises his hand. You continue to pull Irinaâs body making sure to grab her arms and head.
âNot a human you say. That makes things interesting then.â Aro says with a sinister smile and begins to step closer to you but is stopped by Marcus. Aro turns to his brother who was holding his hand out towards him. Aro quickly grabbed his hand like it was made of gold. As the two were distracted you motioned for the sisters of Irina to come and get her body. They sped over and took the body from you both giving you appreciative smiles. You give them a small nod as they move back to the other covenâs beginning to put their sister back together.
Aro's voice broke through the suffocating silence, that filled the clearing.
âThe soulmate string,â he whispered, the words so soft they should have vanished into the air, yet they echoed like a bell tolling in the distance. He letâs go of Marcusâ hand and they turn to where you stood, not far from them. Your gaze followed theirs, drawn by something primal and magnetic, until you saw it, a shimmering thread of light, delicate yet unyielding, stretching from your chest to Caius. The string pulsed with a rhythm that mirrored your own heartbeat, radiating an ancient energy that defied comprehension. Gasps rippled through the clearing as Marcusâs gift allowed everyone to glimpse it, just for a moment, a bond that transcended centuries, lifetimes, and even the laws of their immortal existence. The thread shimmered like starlight, golden and iridescent, before it faded from view, leaving only the weight of its presence behind.
The clearing stayed tense between the groups, and with you right in the middle. Carlisle took a few steps forward looking at Aro.
"Aro, you see there's no law broken here."
Carlisle stated, ready to have everyone go
home.
"Agreed." Aro gave a slight smile. He licked his lips and tilted his head.
"But does it then follow that there is no danger?" He took a few steps forward. "For the first time in our history, humans pose a threat to our kind.Their modern technology has given birth to weapons that could destroy us." He looked back to the Cullenâs curiously.
"Maintaining our secret has never been more imperative." His words as he nodded caused most of the guard member's to smirk, making everyone all frown. "In such perilous times, only the known is safe.Only the known is tolerable, and we know nothing of what this child will become. Can we live with such uncertainty? Spare ourselves a fight today, only to die tomorrow."
You take a few steps back closer to where your sister stood, your body tense and prepared to fight. Edward perked up after a second looking to the woods next to them, gaining everyoneâs attention. Out from the forest walked Alice and Jasper, side by side.
"Alice." Edward said quietly.
"Alice." Aro gasped in excitement.
Alice walked by giving Bella a knowing look, and giving you a small nod in greeting.
But they didn't stop to stand with the covens.
They walked straight over to the Volturi side. Met quickly by Demetri, stopping them from going any further.
"My dear, dear Alice, we're so glad to see you here, after all." Aro said happily.
"I have evidence that the child won't be a risk to our kind." Alice stated, trying to push through the guard members holding her back.
"Let me show you." She held out her hand as she spoke kindly.
"Brother." Caius said unsure. Aro motioned for her to be let through. Alice pushed away the guard members and walked over toward's Aro. Demetri slapped Jasper face as he tried to fight to go with her. Aro grapped Alice's hand quickly, being pulled into whatever her vision was, and he looked almost frightened. Everyone stood in their places, untouched as Aro slowly removed his hand from Alice's.
A terrified look crossed his face as he glanced around at all the people before him. Edward smirked, knowing Aro was terrified of Bella.
"Now you know." Alice growled. "That's your future. Unless you decide on another course."
"We cannot alter our course. The child still poses a grave threat." Caius stepped forward talking lowly to Aro.
"But what if you were sure she could remained concealed from the human world?"
Edward called out to them. "Could we leave in peace?"
"Of course. But that cannot be known."
Caius called back to him with a scowl.
"Actually it can." Edward said softly with a smile. Alice walked away from Aro smiling. Two figures emerged from the forest, which Alice and Jasper had come from. It was a younger man and woman. They walked all the way up to Alice and stood by her.
"I've been searching for witnesses of my own among the Ticuna tribes of Brazil. " Alice spoke softly.
"We have enough witnesses." Caius spat.
"Let him speak, brother.â Aro hushed him.
"I am half human, half vampire. Like the child."
The man named Nahuel said.
"A vampire seduced my mother, who died giving birth to me. My aunt, Huilen, raised me as her own. I made her immortal."
"How old are you?" Bella stepped forward calling out curiously.
"150 years." He looked back at Bella and smiled.
"At what age did you reach maturity?" Aro asked.
"I became full-grown seven year's after my birth. I have not changed since then." Nahuel replied Bella looked back up at Renesmee , reaching out and holding her hand. She smiled down at Bella, still on Jacob's back.
"And your diet?"
"Blood, human food. I can survive on either."
"These children are much like us." Marcus said amazed.
"Regardless, the Cullen's have been consorting with werewolves, our natural enemies." Caius stated. Aro turned and placed a hand on his shoulder, shaking his head.
Knowing what he had seen in Alice's vision, was not a chance Aro was willing to take.
Though, he had much more knowledge than before.
"Dear ones, there is no danger here. We will not fight, today." Aro said looking at the Volturi group. The outer part of the group beginning to retreat into the forest. As the the Upper and Elite guard begin to follow.
"We have them on the run. Now is the time to attack." Vladimir said walking up to Carlisle.
"Not today." He smiled happily at them.
"You're all fools! The Volturi might leaving. But they will never forgive what happened here." Stephan yelled. Everyone ignores them and you begin to walk towards your sister, wanting to officially meet your niece. The rest of the Volturi turn to leave when it happens. Vladimir and Stefan both speed towards you. Knowing that if they take you out then Caius will retaliate. Edward catches their thoughts and turns to you.
âVladimir! Stefan! Donât.â He yells, but they ignore him. They continue speeding towards you, but no one here knows what you are, well except for Alice and Aro who saw you in the vision. Vladimir reaches you first and his hand goes around your throat in a tight grip. Bella letâs go of Edward and speeds over to where Stefan was getting ready to join his partner. She grabs him by the back of his neck and slams into the ground, cracking as the vampires body comes in contact. The commotion behind them cause the retreating Volturi to halt and turn. Then suddenly and animalistic snarl is heard through the clearing, and everyone turns to the source. Caius. The vampire king stood there with fury etched onto his face as he sees his mate being held by her throat. He begins to take a step forward, but is stopped by Aroâs hand on his shoulder. He whips his head to his brother with a snarl. How dare Aro stop him from protecting his mate.
âBrother donât. Just watch. Your mate will handle it.â Aro says calmly already knowing of your capabilities. Caius lets out on angry huff but turns to where you are. His hands clench tightly by his sides as he sees Vladimirâs grip on your throat.
âI suggest you let me go.â You say calmly your (e/c) clashing with red.
âOr what? Youâre just a pathetic little human.â Vladimir says with a sneer as he grip begins to tighten. He expects you to cower in fear but you do the opposite and laugh. Dark thunder clouds begin to form in the sky strikes of lightning beginning to hit the ground surrounding the both of you.
âFor the last time. I AM NOT A HUMAN. NOW ENCHANTIX.â You yell. A bright light surrounds you as you transform into your fairy form. Your regular clothes change in your fairy outfit that was a mix of black, blues, and silver. Your wings sprout out of your back, a combination of blue and silver. The storm clouds circle above the clearing as the air around you grows static. All of the vampires in the clearing look at you with awe and a little fear.
âYou vampires really think youâre the most powerful supernatural creature. You think it all revolves around you.â As you speak you reach up with your hand, grabbing Vladimirâs arm, and fill him lightning. You could channel lightning into your body like Kate was able to.
âBut hereâs the thing. You really arenât, I just fought a very powerful Dark Wizard before my sister called me. All creatures have weaknesses, and for you vampires its your cockiness. You believe yourselves to be invincible.â Vladimirâs hand falls from your throat as the lightning continues to pour into his body. His knees buckling causing him to kneel in front of you. You look towards Bella and you share a look with her. You tilt your head towards the Volturi as you grip Vladimir by the back of his neck. She nods as she realizes your idea, and the both of you begin to drag the Romanians to where the Volturi stand. As you both get closer Demetri and Felix break formation as soon as Aro nods. They meet you in the middle and each one grabs a Romanian holding them in front of the leaders.
You turn to Bella with a smile and bring her in for a hug.
âGo back to Edward Bells. You guys deserve to be happy. Iâll handle everything here.â You whisper into her ear as her arms come up to carefully hug you being mindful of your wings and her strength.
âAre you sure sis. They might hurt you.â She says her voice dripping with concern. You pull back with a smile and glance behind you to where Caius stood, his eyes glued to your form.
âIâll be okay Bells now go be happy. And tell Wolf boy if he does anything to my niece I will drown him with rain.â You say, and Bella laughs with a smile.
âKeep in touch with me sis. I love you.â She says before speeding back to her family. Edward sends you a nod and a smile before the Cullens retreat with their allies. You send a nod back before your wings lift you off the ground and you fly to where the Romanians are kneeling in front of the kings.
âYou know you guys never really had a chance with defeating them.â You say you circle above them.
âIts kinda sad that you had to wait for someone else to challenge them.â You were taunting them and they knew it as they both let out snarls.
âNow Now Cara Mia no need to rub salt in their wounds.â Aro says as he takes a step forward and you turn towards him.
âHmph no one ever letâs me have any fun.â You say with a pout as you flutter above them.
âNo need to pout la mia tempesta.â Caius says as he also takes a step forward. Your heart skipping a beat at the sound of voice, and seeing his smirk you knew he heard it. He walks closer to where youâre fluttering above the ground.
âWhy donât you come closer and help me rip their heads off their pathetic bodies.â You fly closer to the ground hovering above him before landing. He holds his hand out for you to take and you do.
