I do believe they wanted to avoid political themes in season two, not knowing how to handle some of the themes that in the end were important part of the plot in arcane. (I believe that is why season 1 presents a plot where we as an audience can see moral ambuiguity and answer by yourself what "side" and what characters you think are right, but a good conclusion would not only need for them to answer it for us when that was never intended, but also fix wrongs things).
And I believe more than that is that they had limited time, and they did everything they could considering they wanted everything. They wanted to be able to add Warwrick, to add the prision cell sex scene, to add the Viktor becoming a god through his "glorious evolution", they wanted timebomb, they wanted mage Mel, they wanted Caitvi fallapart drama, they wanted Jinx as a big sister, they wanted a war against Noxus, they wanted Ambessa to be a main villian, they wanted Jinx to be a hero and have a grand entrance, they wanted a found family trope for both sisters, they wanted Jayvik canonly soulmates (platonic or romantic doesn't matter), they wanted everything.
"Did everything they could with limited time" is somwthing I said once about their series, both as a "defense" (I was mostly complaining about how of half critics in youtube were about Loris not being a second Vander, Warwrick design, not liking certain women characters being evil or not pure, etc when there are real things to criticize about arcane) but "everything they could" doesn't mean it was good. One can do everything they can and still be bad, in this particular case it's a still enjoyable to watch and can get amazing moments and details, which is probably the main focus as a series of Netflix.
With the lack of time they had to decide what to sacrifice to be able to put everything, and it doesn't really mean the chose wrong all the time or right all the time, they just had to choose knowing some would adore their choses (see how S2E7 is the most loved one of the series as a whole) and some would hate it.
"They didn’t had time to finish the story".
They didn’t had time for Jinx and Ekko's conversation, but they had time for a Mel's wasn’t even her real brother shenanigans.
They didn't had time for the Vi storyline, but they had time to write a whole affair scene between Caitlyn and Maddie.
They didn’t had time to talk about Sevika council seat, her reacting to Isha's/Silco's death or about her past, but they had time to turn Vander into Warwick just to kill him again.
They didn’t had time for the Ekko's community storyline, but they had time for an AU episode.
To me it sounds like they just wanted to avoid all of the political stuff from season 1.
But what do i know?
I did like timebomb with Ekko x Powder. I don't like it with Jinx, but even with the Symbols and everything I didn't feel the ship was forced into Jinx and Ekko and I did appreciate that. To me it felt more like the two were reworking themselves to fit their "new us" together, not as a couple, but as a team to build up something new. They spent so much fighting and resenting the other while also missing the ghost of their childhood friend (and possible crush), I don't think they could ever work that out.
In the alternate universe what Ekko mostly gained was closure, he was able to say goodbye to Benzo and Powder. To me it meant a lot when Ekko corrected himself after almost deadnaming Jinx, I don't think it was because the last time she saw her she was Powder, but because Ekko was like Vi in season 1. They didn't want Jinx, it was Powder or nothing, because Jinx is Silco's daughter, the daughter of the man who killed Benzo and Vander deciding to remain loyal to such man.
It left me wonder: when Ekko said he gave her chances, did he ever gave Jinx one? Or did he only ever give them to Powder? The way he says "she is gone" to Vi implies that it was Powder the one who he extended his hand with.
Then there is Jinx, who he just found out trying to kill herself (in all shown it's clear that, even through everything, he doesn't want her to die). We don't know why Ekko was there, if he went there for Jinx, if he just apammed there after the arcane multi-verse travel or if he was there for something else, but he was there and decided to stop her. And the words that get through Jinx are this:
"It's never too late to build something new. Someone worth building it for."
That was something important for Jinx AND Powder in both seasons. First, her gadgets for the team, then the Hextech weapon for Silco, the Sevika's arm, then her new finger, then Vander's death, then her relationship with Vi, then this: Isha's sacrifice. To make it worth something, which is why the globe had the symbol of the bunny (Powder AND Isha's symbol) instead of her iconic symbol of the monkey. From Sevika's arm, while building is important, there is a shift from "building" to "fixing".
"It was something I could fix."
That is Jinx's whole plot during season 2, it's what gave her motivation in the first place after Silco's death.
We don't know how much Ekko knew, but if he saw that Jinx had taken his place, becoming a symbol of the one that take cares for the Undercity, then he had to give her a chance. With the closure he needed, he was ready to accept Jinx, even if she is not Powder and he would always grieve her and what it could have been if things have been different.
Forgiveness is not a theme in arcane, but something deeper. The characters never really forgive each other but learn to live with what happened and move forward accepting that the other person is there. Accepting that, they too, haven't done things right, so they really can't keep pushing against that person and pretend that they are justified in whatever are the consecuences of their actions.
Ekko and Jinx just started building, because people they cared about needed them to, and they decided to give it a chance because it was sonething they could fix. Whatever that something was their friendship, their battle efforts, the sacrifices made, ir didn't really matter. They just gave each other a chance, that was why the monkeys in Ekko's timeloop were important, not because they represented a "good version of Jinx", they represent Jinx, and Ekko was willing to add them, just like he was willing to add her now. To give her something to work with.
Now I'm aware I probably just got it the way I wanted it because content was cut short, I would have lost it with actual Ekko x Jinx content, but this ambiguous way it works and I'm grateful that I got it.
I also believ this is a ship you dislike more the fanon content than the actual content, as Timebomb shippers more often than not ignore that Powder and Jinx are in fact NOT the same person to try and force the Ekko x Jinx. Same individual yes, but not the same person. It's one of those ships you dislike more because of the fans disregard of canon and important content than the little we were given or oven force fed by the show. (Becaus c'mon, the whole tea party scene in season one was NOT so people could say "tHeY aRE tHe sAMe pERsoN")
How it feels to not like timebomb after s2
Another reason for Vi to pull out might be the phrase "Everything might have been different" as she doesn't know how to approach Jinx's "what if", because it not only implies that Vander wouldn't have "died". It also implies that Jinx, like seemingly happened in the other universe, she could have had both Vander and Silco.
Jinx being the sister that becomes the symbol is important because she is both Vander's and Silco's daughter, she is the legacy shaped by Vander's heart and Silco's ambition, even if she lacks both of them for several parts in the series. But only Vander is Vi's father, and Silco is just the main reason her life became miserable, even without being "responsible for making/forcing Jinx from Powder", so she can't step in.
Even in the other universe she doesn't get Silco as a father, or as a positive part of her life. That idea is so "other" to her that even in another Universe Vi doesn't get to experience that "what if", so she pulls away.
Damn, this scene right here where Vi reaches out to her to comfort Jinx just KILLS me every time.
It's a very small scene, but it carries so much weight because it shows how, despite all that's happened, Vi's love for her sister is still very much present, and the bitterness and resentment she felt toward her all those years ago are withering away.
I also love that when she retracts her hand, she doesn't do it forcefully or speedily, which would indicate hostility or resentment. She does it gently as if she's saying to herself, "Maybe I'll just give her some space for now."
As great as the big emotional scenes are (e.g., Vander reuniting with her daughters), you CANNOT undervalue the little moments that made them all the more impactful.

I don’t know how to feel about the 2nd season to Arcane. Like I was crying for one second and then the horny mfs did it in what was JINXES JAIL CELL. I was like “WOAHHHHH OKAY-“ I had to pause to cry and then like lock in to something else.
Also I’m glad that Viktor didn’t just die without not knowing what would’ve happened, I’m glad he saw what Jayce saw so he knew what he needed before he went. I am very glad that they died together. It think the idea that they started with them and ended with them was so perfect so good.
Also- Maddie being a little two time bitch- omg. To be fair. She is a victim to manipulation as well but we can’t excuse that. But for Maddie I feel neutral- like yeah I don’t like her but I get it why she is who she is.
Seeing Jinx in the jail cell picking at her fingers till they bled made me realize I was doing it myself. Like I had never seen anyone in my real life and in tv shows go to that extent like I do. And I don’t do it for anxiety or anything, I do because it’s like something I need to pick at with my nails and when I say Jinx do it I was like… “I feel seen?” I mean not really, the situations are drastically different and way worse for Jinx.
Also MY WIFE SEVIKA???? Barely in the show and I know that she becomes counselor and shit but that doesn’t excuse the fact that she was barely there?? I mean yeah she comes for the big fight and it’s really powerful but I can’t help but feel way too neutral about it.
Ekko learning about timelines and loops was probably the only thing I had enjoyed while watching the whole thing go down. Like idk why but the fact that it was just so different was refreshing. I found it interesting and I wanted more of that without like any rushing.
I also felt rushed? Like everything was going all over the place- it was really fast and I can’t tell if I’m just a loser or I’m missing obvious lore that I can’t really get into right now. (That’s how I am with FNAF like I know the lore but idk about any of the books or the extensive lore stuff like my friends- I just don’t think I could get into like that.) I loved arcane. It made me cry, fear, laugh a bit- and we got the scene of sex we wanted. But like after watching it I felt strangely empty about it. Idk but the sex scene felt very inappropriate where it was set and I can’t help but feel that it’s kinda perfect for them. Like it seems like something exactly that Caitlyn and Vi would have but yet I felt really… uncomfortable? And that weird because like that shit don’t happen- I was very happy it was going to happen but maybe not the way that it did.
It’s not a downgrade. It’s a slight upgrade in my book on the terms of content. Don’t come at me but maybe I should give it a second watch when it’s not 3 AM.
I just thought it was neat 🤤😫🗿

“Isha—! I swear- you better eat it, it’s good for you!” You can’t hold the breathy laugh and grin as you chase Isha down the hall of your home. Her giggles and fast footsteps down the hall makes your heart warm but also very incredibly annoyed.
Suddenly just as Isha was rounding the corner, Sevika stepped in her way with a hand on her hip and a scowling look on her face. Isha looked up at Sevika as if she was a giant before trying to run away, only for Sevika to scoop her up into her grasp. With a hearty laugh, Sevika walked over to you, trying to catch your breath as you lean against the wall a little with the bowl of vegetables that have yet to be eaten.
Isha squealed and yelled as she wiggled in Sevika’s grasp that was until she caught a glimpse of Jinx behind Sevika making a ‘shhh’ sound with her finger over her lips. You walk over to her and Isha with such a mother look. Sevika had to admit, the look on your face was a sight to see… so irritated and well, sexy.
“Were you looking for this monkey- gahh!!” Sevika was interrupted by Jinx jumping on her back with a cackle, trying to set Isha free of eating vegetables. Isha squealed again and laughed as Jinx was practically piggybacking on Sevika. You gasp and laughed at the scene in front of you. You quickly set down the bowl and tried to pull Jinx off of your girlfriend. Screaming and yelling with a mix of laughter ensued and finally, Jinx fell to the ground with you holding her and Sevika fell to the ground with Isha in her arms. Everyone was laughing and giggling, trying to calm down.
“Alright alright, can we please go back to eating our dinner rather than fighting over it?” You ask mostly looking at giggling Isha. She shook her head profusely before Sevika squeezed her in her arms, making the little girl squeal again.
“C’mon… don’t make her eat that stuff.” Jinx whined as she stood up. You stood up with her and placed your hands on your hips.
“Well excuse me, but that ‘stuff’ is what is going to give her energy and strength!” You tell Jinx as you watch her mock you. Once she’s done mocking you she sees the knowing look on your face and she shuts her mouth and turned to walk back to the living room. Sevika watched you handle the situation and smirked, the gap in her teeth appearing. She stands up, still holding Isha.
“Needed her?” Sevika chuckles with a soft grin as she sets Isha down before handing her to you. You chuckle with a soft smile and then sigh once Isha is back in your grasp.
“Now, little miss,” you began as you looked down at Isha. She began to plead with her big golden eyes and the cutest pout on earth, but you know that look all too well. “You need to finish your dinner or there is no desert for you—“
“No!!” Isha whined as she stomped a little in protest. You cross your arms and look down at her with an eyebrow raised.
“Then I suggest you get your butt at the table.” You whisper to her before she began to scamper back to where she originally sat at the table. The screech of the chair on the wooden floor, indicating that she made it.
You sighed deeply with a small smile of disbelief as you looked up at Sevika. She stood there with the biggest grin and blown out eyes.
“What?” You questioned her with a grin slowly appearing on your face as well. She shook her head and shrugged a little.
“Nothing, just… grateful of my little girlfriend handling all this like a champ.” Sevika teased as she stepped closer to you and placed a hand on your waist and drew you in closer. She slowly kissed your cheek and then down to your neck, causing you to go weak for only a moment.
“Sev…” you whisper to as her feel her nibble softly at your skin…
SKKRRRECH!!
“Desert!!!” You and Sevika hear Isha whine as she pushes the chair back and forth on the wooden floor. You laughed softly before pulling away from Sevika as she groaned.
“Sorry Sev, duty calls.” You chuckled and patted her chest before walking past her and to the dining room table. Sevika watched you as you walked away and she bit her lip, watching you.
Oh yeah, she can get used to this.
I just want to make it known that Sevika doesn’t use shimmer to fight anymore as like an energy boost. I just realized this while rewatching the episodes.

“Oi! What did I just say?!-“
“And what brings you home so late, my dear?” The light of a warm lamp flicks on and Sevika, Jinx and Isha flinch at it. There you were, sitting there in your robe and pajamas on the couch, arms crossed. It was a shock to see not only your girlfriend walk through the door after 2 weeks being gone but now… Jinx and some mysterious child?
“Shit- what are you doing here-?” Sevika grumbles as she walks further into the house while ushering Jinx, who was carrying Isha, inside.
“The real question is what were you not doing here? Where the fuck have you been?” You snap back at her before looking at the gold eyes of the young child in the room. “Pardon my language.” You mumbled as I stood from the couch and walked over to Jinx.
“Hi y/n…” Jinx greeted, her voice soft but it cracked a little. They all much better tired, especially Sevika if she’s just planning on crashing at home with these two. You nod towards the adorable child that Jinx is holding with a questioning look. “Uh- this is Isha. She’s been following me around..”
You perk up at her words, little surprised that the child would even want to be around Jinx much less, Sevika. “Well you’ve come to the right place at this point.” You look back up to Sevika and frown, still made of her absence for 2 weeks. You know she’s been busy but the on and off of leaving and not knowing when she’d come back was… tiring.
There was a long drag in the air until the microwave dinged and lingered softly before you take a deep breath.
“So, who’s hungry?” You ask with a warm smile and offering hands.

“This is so good! I’ve missed food!” You hear Jinx whine and playfully cry out about the food while shoving it into her mouth. Isha was only copying what she was seeing from Jinx and shoveled food into her mouth as well. They both sit at the two seated round table while you and Sevika have a long chat about what exactly has been happening.
“You… can’t be serious..” you grumble as you place down the take out food on the counter and rub the bridge of your nose. You knew Sevika was deep into trouble with topside but… you didn’t think she’d fight with their little special team of enforcers, directly. You lean your weight on the counter and shake your head trying to take this all in.
“I’m still pissed at you.” You mumble before you feel a sour little smile break on your face. Sevika lets out a heavy sigh and places down her food as well.
“I know it’s not… ideal. But this is what we’re working with now.” Sevika said softly as she took a step closer and slowly cupped your face. At first you wanted to angrily pull away from her touch but then you lean into it. You’ve missed it. Her large, rough hand always so warm. It made you feel safe.
You suddenly wonder about her other arm and you look down at it. It’s currently being covered by her red poncho but you can see the childish blue and pink paint covering it. You chuckle softly and you can feel Sevika laugh softly and roll her eyes at the fact her new arm was… quite something.
This tender moment was spoken through just the mind. Between you two, a million words were said at once through one look but… it was more than enough communication from both of you. Sevika slowly places her lips on the top of your head and held you close. You sigh and finally relax in her presence. She’s finally home.
Suddenly you feel a small tug on your pants and you look down to see Isha with her empty bowl and pleading big eyes. Your heart melts at the sight and assume she was asking for more food. Poor girl must be starving still. Sevika backs up from you without a word, picks up her bowl and makes her way to the table. Probably to talk to Jinx for a bit.
“You want more?” You ask softly as you take the empty bowl with gentle hands. Isha nods immediately and so much that she almost looks like a bobble head. You laugh and pat her head before turning to the take out food packaging and poured some more into her bowl. You placed it into the microwave and started it. Isha tried to jump up on the counter to peer up into the microwave, she probably never has seen one. You chuckle and shake your head at the energetic child before scooping her up easily and holding her firmly on your hip. You turn on the light inside the microwave and you just watched Isha’s eyes glimmer as she followed the plate spinning around… and around…
Sevika was secretly watching the interaction and felt something in her slowly bloom. Seeing you like that… so warm and inviting for kids. It’s not something she really touch upon in recent days but… it’s not impossible to think about now. She felt Jinx nudge her and smirk.
“So… you think about marrying her?” Jinx cracked up at her with a grin and Sevika swears that she almost choked.
“W-what?” She sputters in disbelief but she heard the words from Jinx’s mouth. She’s not stupid and neither is Jinx. Sure Sevika thought about it. A nice spring day… far away from Zaun, you in that crisp white dress that complimented your skin so beautifully. Soft air around with flowers and sunlight… Sevika dreams about it. But only one could dream.
“You don’t have to talk about it for me to know. I’m not blind.” Jinx said in a snarky remark but in the inside she meant well. Sevika grunted quietly in reply before looking back to you and Isha. Now that the food was heated up you were passing it back to her and gently warning her that it was still hot.
Yeah… Sevika could get used to this.
Arcane Season 2 got me wanting to like write for people but I would mess up so bad.
