people who like repressed characters should watch buffy the vampire slayer. it may not seem like it at first what with the friendly demeanor and seemingly outgoing personality, but buffy summers is actually the most repressed little weirdo ever in the history of fiction.

You know that thing where you eventually have to explain fanfic to your parents? My parents made me look up ships IN THEIR OWN FANDOMS TO TRY AND SEE WHICH WERE THE MOST POPULAR.
Which makes total sense, because Buffy knows what it's like to be labeled unfairly.
She's constantly treated as a problem child who's bound to screw up and cause trouble, regardless of her reasons for acting out or how much she improves. We see that label weigh on her, and we see how she lights up the few times an authority figure is able to see through it (e.g. her conversation with the biology teacher in 1x04).
That's why it frustrates me when her willingness to treat Angel, Faith, and Spike as people capable of growth is viewed as naïve or emotionally compromised. Is it really so surprising to her friends that this girl, who barely passed her classes and got written off as a trouble maker for a destiny she didn't choose, might be sympathetic to the "irredeemable" characters who are also victims of circumstance?
I am once again thinking about how buffy summers handles forgiveness. the scoobies et al are very forgiving to the good guys, but it’s buffy who’s willing to let anyone interested in redemption try their hand at it. it’s buffy who allows faith and spike to try again.

Lately, I've been getting back into one of my old fandoms -- Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And, whenever I get into a fandom, Sims skins usually follow.
So, I decided to make four of my favorite characters from the show -- Buffy, Oz, Tara, and Dawn. They each have 20 different outfits, all with pictures in the .7z files.
Some of their outfits aren't exact recreations, but instead the best I could do within the limitations of Sims 1. Some of them are also recreations of very old skins others had made, redone to look cleaner and use better meshes.
It's probably not what you typically expect from me, but it's something I wanted to make, and I think it fits the occasion. How can you get more Halloween than a vampire slayer, a werewolf, and a witch?🔪🐺🧙♀️

Also, let me say that while I may do other characters from the show down the road, I'm not open to requests. I'm also not doing any characters I dislike (ie. Willow, Xander, Spike), so don't expect skins of them.

Buffy wears her day clothes to patrol in her series but in a comic or animated show she would need to wear a outfit that is easily recognised.
It should also hide her identity. Buffy still has somewhat of a private life and I think she would like to keep it that way.
I personally think she wouldn’t wear a full body costume but more something like Zatanna.
But is should still suit her style…

Okay hear me out on this : Buffy Summers and Jason Todd as best friends.
They bond over the shared traumatic experience, that is crawling out your own grave after you were dead for a longer time period and how this changes you pretty dramatically.
Both Buffy and Jason always had more problems to deal with than most other kids their age, but at the start of their story, they are both portrayed as sunshine characters. Sure they both had sad moments and difficult times in their child soldier phase, before their deaths but after…
Anyway this is why I think we should talk about Buffy in Gotham instead of Danny phantom

@thirteenthblackbird Yeah, it is. I, personally, liked the idea of young Giles, I just don’t think the idea/concept was utilized as much as it could have been or explored as uniquely and interestingly as it could have been. But I know I’m in the minority with that. So Whedon just went the lazy fanservice route and made Giles an adult again (apparently using a spell they found). It all happened off-screen, even though there had been a Giles Mini during Season 11 that would have been the perfect opportunity to pursue that particular plot point. Ugh. There is just so much lazy and bad writing in Season 12.
WHY?! WHY they all trying to destroy such an amazing story (both comics and movie) and brilliant characters.
They doing this fucking reboot. In the comics, they destroyed Spuffy relationship giving the most idiotic excuse ever (for this characters). Everyone complains that the plot is disappointing and characters behave in a weird way.
They’re doing a buffy reboot… Like… Why? I mean if it’s like a sequel thing maybe but if it’s just a real reboot… Nope? Besides… Honestly… Can it ever be as good as the original?
And don’t those people have new fresh ideas for shows anymore??? The amount of reboots around are astonishing. We’re already getting Charmed, now we’re getting Buffy as well? What’s next? The Pretender? The Sentinel?

Sarah Michelle Gellar deserved an Emmy for “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” and the fact that she was snubbed is something I’ll never be ok with. Buffy, not only as a character but also as a show, was and still is to this day such a huge pop culture influence. The show gave TV the first lesbian kiss (the fact that it didn’t happen until the year 2000… yikes) and paved the way for better representation… No one else could’ve done Buffy justice the way Sarah did. She was the heart of this show and really demonstrated that women are multifaceted, and that if you’re “strong” you’re not just the “strong” girl, you have weaknesses and are capable of being vulnerable and that it’s ok to be both. And it’s also ok to be fed up with men and call them out for their abusive patterns and blatant misogyny. And it’s ok to slay vampires in heels and look super hot while doing it. She really was THAT bitch. The fact that her performance was written off by the television academy because they only saw it as a “teen vampire soap opera” is really messed up and unforgivable.

the problem with watching buffy the vampire slayer for the first time when you're 13 is that it will fundamentally reshape your brain chemistry to the point where literally all fiction becomes buffy the vampire slayer in different fonts. "watch another show!" you might say, and believe me i have! i promise i've watched many other shows since i was 13. but the problem is that all those other shows as well as films, books, podcasts etc. are simply deviations of buffy the vampire slayer to me. it's the holy text, the primary source. everything else is just commentary.
