I agree with the "A rant about the EATEOF mod and what’s been happening (+ on Twitter)".

A rant about the EATEOF mod and what’s been happening (+ on Twitter)

DISCLAIMER: This kind of depends on you knowing the controversy surrounding the EATEOF mod that’s been happening on Twitter OR Instagram (as of March 28th) so if you have no idea what any of this post means/don’t know the context, keep scrolling, it’s honestly better to save you the headache if you don’t know. But for the people who DO know and want to hear some random person’s thoughts, here’s what I have to say.

After that one big post (and maybe the others) made on Twitter surrounding the Everywhere at the End of Funk mod it’s already become taboo to enjoy the mod or even make fanart of it. It literally happened overnight and you can’t deny that fact. All it took was for those tweets to bring attention to it and now everyone hates or is hating on the mod, I’ve not seen a single positive thing said about EATEOF since the 24th (of March) which is around the time those tweets were made, and it’s really sad. Before this the mod actually had a lot of positive feedback, it literally got featured on GameBanana as “The Best of” for a time. Now? Speak one word of EATEOF and you get gunned. I can’t go anywhere without seeing one person negatively reference EATEOF if it has ANYTHING to do with how “toxic” the FNF community is. You can have your gripes with the mod, I’m not here to tell you if you can or can’t like it since it’s a very serious subject, you can feel how you want about the mod itself but I’d like to take a moment to talk about the dev team of EATEOF.

Of what’s worse is that the dev team on the mod have literally stressed so many times they didn’t want the mod to be romanticized or glorified and are taking it very seriously. A small part of the fandom just spiraled it out of control by tagging the actual dementia hashtag and made it seem like it was the entire fandom’s fault when it was a tiny percent. It wasn’t even on Twitter it was on INSTAGRAM. A WHOLE DIFFERENT SITE. The tweets made it seem like it was the entire community’s fault. Those people who tagged the dementia hashtag should still be held accountable of course, but blaming it on the entire FNF community is completely unfair. Many peoples’ first impression of EATEOF were those negative Twitter posts and now will never hear out the actual intentions of the original mod makers. It’s so tragically sad, especially since the creator who made the mod made it as a homage to the original Everywhere At The End Of Time album, not to goddamn glorify/romanticize having dementia.

I’ve seen so many people make personal attacks and even harass the original mod maker and it’s absolutely disgusting. The mod maker has been completely inactive since the backlash they’ve received. I can’t imagine all the stress the dev team for EATEOF must be feeling right now. No human being is built to handle that amount of pressure and massive negative attention on such short notice, and I can’t imagine what it must be like on their mental health. Especially considering the fact the original mod maker is 14 years old. 14 goddamn years old. That is so unbelievably young and I cannot imagine the absolute stress that would have on someone who’s still rapidly growing.

Context matters but it sure as hell looks like Twitter never learns to use it AT ALL.
