Giving gifts

Being able to surprise you with gifts is almost one of Gorou’s favorite things to do. Just seeing the way your face lights up when you receive them is enough to have his heart pounding in his chest.

There is a tremor in Gorou's hands as he holds a neatly wrapped gift out to you, the wrapping paper covering the gift is white, decorated in soft pink cherry blossoms that remind you solely of the islands that make up Inazuma. The burnt orange and white ears that lay on top of his head are twitching in what could only be perceived as nervousness given the situation. His crystal teal-colored eyes are unwavering as you carefully unwrap the gift in your hands, nimble fingers careful not to rip the precious paper. After successfully opening the box, your eyes flick up to catch the look on Gorou's face to find his eyes haven't left your form for a single millisecond.

Once the lid of the wooden box is removed, a sparkling necklace is revealed in the shape of a cherry blossom, the flower petals a beautiful rose-gold, and resting in the center of it is a vibrant amethyst gemstone. Upon seeing such an elegant piece of jewelry, tears begin to well in your eyes due to how perfect it is for you. Gorou understood your tastes perfectly when it came to buying gifts for you usually, this was no different.

"Ah, why are you crying, kitten? I thought it was perfect!" Gorou's voice breaks the silence the second one of those tears slip down your, in his eyes, perfectly sculpted face. You were sitting on the bow of the Alcor, legs crossed underneath as you studied the waves of the ocean spreading out beyond where the ship was anchored at an unknown island. The Liyue cryo vision on your hip was emitting a soft light, the cool energy spreading through your veins like an icy wildfire while you made little frost flowers in your hands to keep yourself entertained.

Kazuha had told you not to leave the Alcor, his melodic voice not giving you much room to protest, especially when those gentle lips pressed against your own in such a nice form of persuasion. Vermillion eyes lit up with both pride and relief as you agreed to his terms, a smile blossoming over the man's pale cheeks before he turned to vanish onto the unexplored island after whispering a promise to your lips.

"Fifteen minutes, that's all I need. After that time is up, you may follow my footsteps directly North, the wind will guide you to my location."

Those fifteen minutes pass rather swiftly, the sun was beginning to set, dying golden rays sinking below the horizon of the vast ocean ahead. Time was up and you needed to find out where your darling samurai had gone. After traveling for nearly five minutes, (the journey is much quicker due to a few wind currents) you come to a halt, a few feet away from a cliff. The sky behind the cliff has shifted from a soft glow of orange thanks to the dying sun, to a vast array of pinks and purples. Vibrant colors left in the sun's wake swirl together amongst the clouds, creating various shades that could have seemed impossible. On the cliff sits your samurai, Kazuha's hair usually worn up is now cascading down his shoulders, the backdrop of the sky behind him only aids in accenting his beauty.

Beside Kazuha sits miniature oil lanterns as well as a basket most likely full of new foods you have been dying to try. As his head turns to lock his eyes over your form, all breath leaves your lungs at how undeniably fond his ruby gaze is. His eyes latch onto yours, freezing you in place, a warm smile blossoming over his cheeks as it always does when he lays eyes on you.

Although Diluc often won’t directly admit it, he rather loves the mundane dates the two of you go on.

Stargazing with you has to be one of his favorite things to do when it is time for a ‘date night’.

Diluc never really stares at the stars.

The beauty of the galaxy that shine billions of miles away could never compare to how stunning you look bathed in the moonlight.

Often times, Diluc just lays there quietly while you point out countless constellations that you have memorized over time. (Thanks to Mona’s help)

Diluc can’t remember the last time he just sat back and relaxed like this with anyone. He is always so preoccupied with his other duties he never really gets a chance to enjoy a moment of peace.

He never really speaks during the times, silently pressing himself into your warmth as much as possible. He wants to be as close as he can get. Even if he is practically on top of you already.

There are times when Diluc will grow confident enough to press little kisses to your jawline as he pulls you closer, allowing his actions to prove just how strong his feelings are for you.

“Would you remind me what that group of stars is called, love?”

If it is one thing that Kazuha adores, it’s to go stargazing with you whenever the two of you have the free time. 

Since you spend a lot of time traveling on the Crux Fleet, your beloved often asks you if you want to lay on the deck and stargaze with him. These are some of your most intimate moments with each other. 

Under the soft glow of the moon shining down upon the two of you, Kazuha often finds himself getting lost in how you look. With your eyes locked onto the galaxy stretching out above the two of you and the way your hair fans out around your head, he can feel his heart beginning to pound.

You both could stay out here for hours simply enjoying each other’s warmth and company as you snuggle beneath the stars.

You decide to take this time to open up about your life before meeting him, telling him little details or stories that he might not have heard before now. 

Kazuha also begins to open up about things he has experienced in the past, he had been reluctant to do so before, but the way you tell him about your life so easily inspires him to do the same.

Aside from the sound of the soft breeze flowing through the sails of The Crux, the only other sound is the chatter you two make and the lapping of the waves around you.

“Spending time with you is probably one of the most magical feelings, my dove.

Gorou, like Diluc, hardly ever has the time to allow himself a moment a of leisure especially with the Vision Hunt Decree still in motion.

However, when the man finally finds the time to spend with you, he almost always asks to stargaze on one of Watatsumi Island’s beaches. Nighttime is really the only free time that he can get, and it isn’t uncommon for Gorou to have to spend days away.

When the time comes to go on your date, he talks about it all day. Literally. As well as to everyone else around which is mostly his troop.

Someone is probably going to kill him if they hear him talk about how much he loves you again.

Gorou almost always brings you these wonderful bright violet flowers that remind him of your personality. That’s what he told you at least.

The moment that he lays his vibrant teal eyes on you, his tail begins to wag earnestly. However, when you point it out to him, Gorou’s face flushes a pretty crimson red and he pretends he doesn’t know what you are talking about.

As the two of you lie down to gaze up at the stars above you, Gorou really can’t keep his mouth shut. He is always talking about random facts he knows, but only about topics that he is sure you are interested in.

He loves it when you rub his ears while you both stargaze, not only is it a nice sensation, it fills him with warmth to know you like some of his more ‘puppy-like’ features.

“Look, My love! I found these flowers that remind me of you! Aren’t they pretty?”

Venti never really seems to be busy aside from when he takes the time to grab drinks from the tavern which means he will always be taking you on as many dates as he can.

The two of you spend quite a lot of time together, aside from when you need to go on missions or do commissions. You probably haven’t spent more than a few days away from each other.

Venti loves to ask you to go to Starsnatch Cliff with him on a stargazing date, not only does he love to star at the stars, but this was the place he first asked you out so it means a lot to him.

He loves bringing his lyre on dates with you so he can serenade you with his wonderful ability to come up with catchy songs on the spot.

While the two of you are gazing up at the stars, Venti can’t help but wonder how good of a person he was in his past life for him to be so blessed to have a partner like you.

Venti always takes the time to pick fresh Cecilias when you are together, facing away from you with a giggle while he weaves them into a beautiful crown. He always comments on how you are his princess and you look the most beautiful with a crown on your head.

During your stargazing date, Venti presses himself into your side as he strums a soft tune on his lyre, almost making you doze of from how nice the atmosphere is: The moonlight was pooling from above casting a soft glow to the earth around you accompanied by the gentle breeze and the scent of the ocean air from the sea below. 

As you doze off, Venti no longer sings, but he does keep strumming his lyre, keeping you in your slumber until he must carry you back to your home.

Reacting to a gn!reader falling asleep on their shoulders (HCs)

Xiao

Xiao isn’t really used to someone showing him affection the way you always do, so he’s always a bit taken aback when you’re close to him. However, he can’t help but smile when you rest your head on his shoulder while you’re watching the sunset from Wangshu Inn’s balcony.

He didn’t really expect you to fall asleep but as soon as he realizes it, he doesn’t dare to move even the slightest bit because he doesn’t want to wake you up. Although Xiao would never admit it, he’s incredibly happy about the fact that you fell asleep on his shoulder because to him, it’s a sign that you trust him completely, no matter what. He’s not entirely sure if he really deserves your trust, though.

On the one hand, he knows that he should probably wake you up and send you to bed but on the other hand, he really doesn’t want this moment to end. It’s calming and peaceful, something Xiao rarely experiences, and he’s not ready to let go of that feeling so quickly. Plus, he thinks that you look kinda cute when you sleep.

At some point, he still decides to put you to bed because the two of you can’t spend the whole night sitting on the balcony, no matter how much Xiao would enjoy that. He makes sure that you’re comfy before he leaves – but if you woke up and asked him to stay with you, he probably couldn’t say No.

Gorou

Gorou knows next to nothing about romance and therefore often feels a bit insecure when he’s around you. He doesn’t want to do anything wrong or accidentally hurt your feelings, so he usually tries to keep a bit of a distance. However, he won’t refuse when you want to spend some time with him, especially since he barely has time to relax with everything that’s going on in Inazuma.

When you’re sitting around together, maybe after training or something, and you tell him that you feel a bit sleepy, Gorou immediately suggests that you should take a nap because you need some rest. However, he definitely didn’t expect you to lean in and rest your head on his shoulder before slowly drifting off to sleep. The situation is almost a bit bizarre to him because he’s just sitting there, staring at you while he tries to process what’s happening.

He can’t deny that he’s happy, though. You trust him and apparently like him enough to be comfortable with being this close to him, so he really can’t complain about the whole situation. That doesn’t change the fact that he has no idea what to do now, though. Should he put his arm around you to make it more comfortable for you? Or would it be better to sit still, just to make sure that he doesn’t wake you up?

In the end, Gorou settles on holding still to make sure that he’s not disturbing your slumber in any way. He also allows himself to indulge in the situation, although he’s still not entirely sure what to think about it but he tells himself to worry about that later. Right now, he just wants to enjoy the moment.

Albedo

Albedo might seem unapproachable and distanced sometimes but he definitely can’t reject you when you ask him if you could rest your head on his shoulder while he’s reading. Sometimes, he even encourages you to do it when he notices that you’re being sleepy. It’s also not unusual that he stays up all night to read or to complete some notes about his latest experiment, so he’s already used to you keeping him company for a while – something he really appreciates.

It’s a frequent thing that you fall asleep on his shoulder, actually. He doesn’t mind it at all; in fact, he really looks forward to it every time because he thinks that it’s just adorable how you snuggle up to him, right before you fall asleep. He doesn’t get to spend as much time with you as he’d like, so moments like this are some sort of compensation as well.

He gets a bit distracted by you, though. Every so often, he finds himself focusing at you instead of the book or his notes in front of him because he wants to make sure that you’re still comfortable. He’s not one to usually watch you when you sleep but he thinks that it’s quite interesting that you can sleep so peacefully in a seemingly uncomfortable position like this. Occasionally, he also brushes a strand of hair from your forehead or caresses your cheek, careful not to wake you up.

However, Albedo knows that he has to wake you when he’s done with his work because you can’t spend the entire night in that position. He’s a bit hesitant about it though and usually apologizes with a kiss or two because he had to disturb your sleep to send you to bed.

You had been recently targeted by fatui and it wouldn’t have been so bad if a swarm of mages and cryo gunners hadn't stormed your home and wrecked it apart looking for you or rather your father who had made a deal with one of the harbingers before passing away. That’s all you knew, you had no idea why they were coming after you when they knew your father had passed and here you were dealing with the consequences of his actions. Not being able to go outside of Inazuma City without the help of the adventures guild aiding you.

“Thanks, Katherine. I’m really grateful for the help.” Rubbing your arm on your neck as you look out into the morning sky, checking your bag to make sure you had everything you needed for your trip. You were headed to Sangonomiya Island to talk to the High Priestess about dealing with the fatui and how your father was somehow wrapped up in the whole mess with the delusions and soldiers.

Which led to the Adventurer's Guild to ask for help since the damn organization wouldn’t leave you alone and it wasn’t safe to travel alone. Katherine asked if having bodyguards would make you feel safer and you agreed, receiving the information that the General of Watatsumi Army would meet you and guide you to the shrine. Another piece of info that you got was the other traveler going alongside you, a fellow who gave the Tenryou commission quite a bit of trouble when they tried to take his vision and how he’s always up for a job when it involves some cash.

As the warm spring wind blew past you the birds and citizens walked past you all enjoying the morning, you ran your hands through your hair and brushed away invisible bunches of dust on your clothes. You were a bit nervous to meet the two of them, people who you would spend the next couple of days with and who you hadn’t even met. Rumors had spread about how a certain Oni gentleman often battled kids for their snacks and had a bit of an ego problem, riling up the milelith and demanding to fight certain individuals.

What you had heard of was that he was very good-looking and strong, no doubt protecting and leading the head of his gang named after himself (there was that ego again). The one thing you hadn’t run into was his name strangely enough and it was honestly too ironic that you hadn’t, laughing to yourself. Smiling as you rubbed a bit of sleep out of your eye seeing someone walk up the guild post, they looked like someone of importance but didn’t stare. The man walked up to Katherine and you then noticed he had ears and a tail, also noting that they were adorable and looked incredibly soft.

Some banter was exchanged before she turned to you and both of your eyes met, his vibrant teal eyes meeting yours and his bright infectious smile showing off his sharp canines. “Oh! Hello! I’m General Gorou of the Watatsumi Resistance, but please just call me Gorou! Nice to meet you.” You smiled back, introducing yourself and shaking his outstretched hand, catching his golden-brown tail wag out of the corner of your eye and also the hidden patch of blonde underneath making itself a bit more visible.

Katherine spoke up, still smiling at the seemingly great meet-up you both had, and told you that the other person should be here in a moment. “Who is the other person that I'm going to be working with?” Gorou asked and looked around for anyone walking up to you both, completely identifying who it was based on the sturdy build he had and his appearance. The general looked a bit annoyed at the discovery and you could help but laugh giving off a cherry statement. “Well he isn’t afraid to make himself known,” Crossing his arms he moved a bit closer to you, “Yeah, that’s going to get us in trouble for sure.”

The Oni strolled up to the three of you with his hands on his hips and chest puffed out, almost as if trying to assert his dominance or prowess. “Hey everyone! Itto’s back in town! Guess you’re the lovely person I'm fighting for?” It was hard not to chuckle at his tone and language sounding so out of place, his tall stature and silver hair with red tips. You again introduced yourself and shook his hand, not missing the wink he gave you. Blushing, you looked back towards your other companion to see what his reaction was and he was not pleased, his tail all fuzzed up and swaying.

That got a reaction out of Itto as he recognized his travel partner and lit up, “Oh look it's the doggie general from the resistance. General Gorou, right?” Reluctantly Gorou nodded and stretched out his hand, begrudgingly but remaining polite as he greeted Arataki Itto. You saw a storm on the horizon, the dark rough clouds, and the occasional flash of lightning slowly approaching towards you all. “Hey, I saw we should be going because that storm is approaching and I’d prefer if we don’t get caught up in it.” They both nodded and bid farewell to Katherine, double-checking that they had anything and realizing Itto didn’t have anything compared to Gorou’s small backpack.

Thoughts ran through you as you began your journey and drank a sip of your bottle, you felt an arm slap onto your shoulders. “So, where ya headed?” You’re greeted by fiery red eyes and a wide toothy smile, almost brightening up the whole area. “I’m headed to meet the leader of the resistance, Gorou’s superior, Sangonmiya Kokomi because the fatui has been constantly on me lately for reasons I have no idea and I honestly don’t know if I wanna know the reason.” Itto gave a hum and went back to admiring the sights around him. Banter was exchanged here and there, getting to know each other a bit more.

You were now just past Inazuma City, walking through a field and chatting, the men behind you whispering. You turned around when you heard Gorou yell no and sputter out a myriad of responses, a blush fully spreading across his face as he caught eyes with you and glared back to Itto.
