just got the scene with talking to Gale under the night sky in act 2 (beautiful scenery btw) and GOD. HOW in the HELLS am I supposed to romance anyone BUT him now??!

On the other hand, I want to romance Astarion and as much as I CAN NOT for the life of me find it easy to reject Gale, hurting Astarion in any way, shape or form would immediately reduce me to a pathetic puddle of tears.

WHY can I not romance both of them UGGHHH this is torture.

not to mention the fact that I have the hots for like EVERY romancable AND unromancable npc in this GODDAMN game.

like Lae’zel (she’s so endearing for some reason what the hell??), KARLACH oh my GOD (Shadowheart knows what’s up, I NEED her to carry me and OMG she calls herself Mama K I CAN’T), Wyll ugggghh (he’s underrated and I WON’T stand for it) Shadowheart (fuck, god’s favorite emo princess I love her so muchhhh). That motherfucker HALSIN (what a HUNK of an elf they had NO RIGHT making him so glorious) even Minthara who I finally got in Act 2 now.

and when it comes to the UNROMANCABLE people. Don't even get me STARTED. Raphael you god damn majestic asshole. Haarlep (I’d feed him, that’s all I’ll say about the matter), Alfira (the REAL reason why I’ll never do a Durge playthrough, I CAN NOT ever lay a finger on her). Larkrissa (I love her and Alfira plus them TOGETHER so fucking much), ROLAN (stupid prickly wizard), Dammon (he’s just SO everything, don’t make me explain, I’ll go on and on for hours)

this game is a bisexual NIGHTMARE and on one hand I LIVE for it, on the other, I’d like to sue

Thoughts on the post-Halsin-confession scene (Astarion romance spoilers)

Preface: this is coming from the perspective of my own playthrough wherein I got this scene early act 3. I don't know if it can trigger in act 2 or not, so let me know, as that would change some of the details. Either way, I think the main point still stands. Also this is all just my headcanon but it's based off of canon info)

Unpopular opinion(maybe?) /headcanon but in my opinion, Astarion is not okay during the “fReeDoM oF nAtuRE's gIFts” conversation after Halsin's confession. He’s laughing and acting way too flippant for it to come across like he’s truly okay with what is being proposed. Not to say he’s against a poly relationship in general, but I think that, at point in his relationship with the player character, he’s kind of panicking about being replaced but doesn't know how to say that he’s not comfortable with them spending the night with Halsin. It kind of reminds me of the “I didn't know how to say no” scene (obviously not the same situation or stakes, I'm just saying that there’s a precedent for him lying about his feelings and needs in order to please the player character and not show vulnerability). PLUS, after he asks if the reason you’re interested in someone else is because he set that boundary about intimacy back in Moonrise (and its implied you haven't been intimate since then),  if you respond with “gods, I don't want you to even think that”, he IMMEDIATELY backpedals like: “oh, of course, I knew that. It was a joke. Doesn't matter to me. I’m very chill right now”. 

Given everything we know about him, at this point in the story, he basically feels like he contributes very little to this relationship, and is insecure about the fact that he can't even offer the one thing he feels like he’s good for. Seeing the player seek intimacy somewhere else, even if they say they want to be with him too, probably feels like a knife to the heart (again, even if he’s not opposed to polyamory in general). The bottom line is that regardless of how the relationship turns out, I don't think he is doing okay at all at this point. 

Note: I don't actually know what happens/ if you can get this scene after facing Cazador. I got the scene early in act 3, personally. Spawn Astarion would be in a much better emotional space then, and so I think he might genuinely be comfortable with opening the relationship to Halsin at that point, potentially. Ascended Astarion is another issue entirely.

BG3 hot take (or maybe not, im not involved enough with the fandom)

Halsin does not have enough body hair, and like, I know that he's an elf, he doesn't grow facial hair, BUT he has the ever so slightest amount of chest hair. HE'S A DRUID, HE LITERALLY TURNS INTO A BEAR, WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE DOESN'T HAVE MORE CHEST HAIR?! FUZZY HALSIN SAVE ME

Sometimes, a family is just an emo goth, an angry space frog, a purple misandrist, a vampire twink, an autistic magician, a golden retriever butch, a half-devil fencer, a furry, a folklore grandma, a bald guy and his hamster, a random adventurer with a weird name, and a psychotic amnesiac with a migraine -- all surrounded by a bunch of pets that they adopted off the side of the road.

Forever convinced bg3 is just dao for a modern audience. Here's my reasons as comparisons between party members:

Morrigan/Shadowheart: trauma goth girls

Leliana/Shadowheart: religion + flowers = adorkable loser that's obsessed w/you

Alistair/Wyll: precious cinnamon rolls that are too good for the rest of us (but with ✨secrets✨)

Alistair/Gale: will kill you with awkwardness and kindness (and maybe cheese)

Alistair/Astarion: pretty hair bois

Zevran/Astarion: elves with KNIVES and sexy accents

Sten/Lae'zel: dude with big sword that doesn't understand local customs

Dog/Scratch/Owlbear: this one's obvious

Wynne/Jaheira: easily the smartest person in the group, will totally judge when you fuck up, gives great mom advice

Leliana/Karlach: would definitely love to shop together, Karlach would prob think Leli's sense of style is nuts tho (she seems more practical to me idk and we all know what Orlesians are like)

Morrigan/Halsin: turns into bear, is scary

Reasons I love Shadowheart in no particular order:

Changing her hair bc she's confused and stressed and doesn't know how to separate herself from Shar other than turning her hair fucking WHITE (which is really funny if your Tav is a Selûnite with white hair cuz you just know she wants to be like you)

Halsin Silverbough Caregiver 🌿

Halsin is my absolute comfort character so yk what, let's do this.

- He already takes care of kids, so he’s got lots of experience!

- He is incredibly protective of Tav, esp if they are in a relationship, and will not rule out physical means to keep you safe

- Uses names like ‘little cub’, ‘pup’, and ‘kiddo’

- If you have a favorite animal, you know he’s making you little figures of that animal, and finding out where he can take you that has them

- Will absolutely keep you fed and warm, always picking berries with you, peeling you fruit and making you little drinks

- Cuddles and naps in wildshape, he’s literally a giant teddy bear

- Will take you on little walks outside of camp given its safe, can be in either the woods or the city!

- Loves to hold your hand, lift you up/hold you, and cuddle you, but also fully respectful of personal space ^^

- Checks in with Jaheria to make sure that he’s not doing too much

- Adores it when you bring him little things you find around camp, whether it be bugs, berries, flowers, and he will support your little adventures

- Will help talk with you, and will tell you the names of whatever plants you wanna know about

- Also is a CG for Astarion, as well as Karlach!
