Last batch for now, I swear

Okay I don't have the story ready but here's what I've finished so far!!! I did the security breach ones before the Foxy marine at the bottom, there not my best work, but gods were they so fun to make/paint!!!

This all came from me watching Heresy for Hertics on YouTube. He's been taking colour schemes from his childhood (TV characters and such) and painting marines with them.

If u love out of the box colour schemes and fantastic tutorials definitely a must watch/subscribe

Pt 1/2(or three)

Okay So im almost done with painting my FNAF inspired space marines and i obviously have been making a little crossover AU in my head as I paint.

I wanna write out a real short story to accompany it, but for my story I need a chapter of Space Marines to have.

Basically it'll be about (the chosen chapter) chasing down some rouge/heretic Astartes to an abandoned space hulk/adrift ship. Once on board both groups have to face foes that wear old oddly coloured power armor. These silent things behave more like animals than regular thinking astartes. They lash out at whatever they see and are distracted by/drawn to noise. But worse of all nothing seems to slow them down.

That isn't the only problem. As the run down old ship seems to be hiding more than just these deranged marines within and it still has some form of residual power. The hallways keep shifting and bulkheads open and seal all on their own.

I'm leaning towards the Marines Malevolent Because I hate them and would happily through them in this meatgrinder of the story but i don't know.

So if you could PLEASE give me a space marine chapter (it can be your favorite or one you despise) and it will be the one i include to survive the night!

I finished the first squad of gue'vesa. The conversion is simple just removing the lasguns, giving them tau gear and of course bayonets and machetes from a spare marine sprue.

Loyal guardsmen and imperial citizens until they were abandoned by their lords as their world fell from importance and they became isolated during the twelfth black crusade. The dark Eldar, war bands and chaos cultists ran rampant. The Tau took the opportunity to expand and came in to “rescue them”. As repayment for their families and world being protected they swore allegiance to the empire and the ethereals.

Dedicated to the point of fanaticism they make the average tau fire warrior seem passive and cowardly as they will bayonet charge tyranids and space marines without any regard for their lives seeing every death as a glorious sacrifice and a repayment of their debts to the greater good. They are also massive simps for Shadowsun as she was the commander who first spoke to them cause I find the idea hilarious with such hard and fanatical soldiers that they walk around with body pillows and fan pics of her and her battle suit.

Given my fat fucking fingers and inability to do anything right I’m amazed this is coming along so well. Got a rough shield shape and a combat short blade looking just different enough so that when I paint it up and it’s glued to a waist or back you won’t be able to tell it’s a Frankenstein monster of three different blades I welded together with spruce goo.

Still might change the shield though I like the small square but a buckler would probably fit better. Something small and round that can be moved easily in a ship or hive city without getting in the way. And if my luck holds with the green stuff maybe give it a spike in the center idk

My crisis suit pilots got their hands on space marine power weapons

The marines weren’t using them anymore as they were sent to be with their god emperor at rail gun velocity after their battle barge was caught unawares

Kitbashed a lil gaze of the dark gods token for my Blooded killteam! The body is from a 40k grot and the head is from a chaos marine.

Grey knight of khorne I made this using some extra parts I had thinking about making grey knights of other chaos gods in the future

Made me a new stompy friend, adorned with old Terran "Edge Ward" designs to protect from daemons and in-laws. Lot of fun putting this one together, and as with the one I did a few months back I cannot undersell how delighted I am that nailart transfers are literally the same stuff as your usual wargaming transfer sheets.

I just got a bunch more kitbash material this last week for the bits boxes!! Including this bag of metal riders!

I love my Orcs and Goblins army but this is the Greatest of All Time.

Here are some chaos units I kitbashed into existence using GW parts. Chaos marauders with great weapons, marauders with halberds, and marauders with javelins. I based the leader of the great weapons unit off of what I thought a chaos warrior would look like if drawn by Rob Liefeld so I gave him skinny Eldar legs and a big front plate shield. I based the leader of the javelin unit on Volgarr the Viking which I’ve never played but have watched others play. Looks hard but fun. I was thinking about Minotaurs when I made the halberd unit.

Also I’m aware Beowulf is a sword guy. This guy just looked like a Beowulf to me!

Today is a little different, I want to talk about the secondary market. Because some friends of mine on discord were astonished at how much my empire units new in box cost and I want to elaborate more on making the best use of kits. Consider this part two of hobbying while being cheap and neurodivergent.

You should have a healthy bits box at all times. You can have several of them. There are a lot of eBay listings for just piles of bits and unfinished minis that you can use to make bespoke Warhammer minis out of just spare parts from multiple kits. Kitbashing is not a revelation, it even predates wargames as it’s a carry over from model railroad hobbyists. But you should buy listings of random bits because you can get some fantastic parts from kits you weren’t thinking of getting for incredible prices.

The re release of these old Warhammer kits comes with a lot of great bits for conversions, I think they really are worth more than people are thinking they are!

The main thing I want to talk about though is how to exploit the chud cycle to maximize your hobby hauls. I won’t get super political in this post because it’s not really what it’s about. But there is a cycle where really negative dudes get into the hobby through a video game like space marine 2 or a lore channel and buy a lot of minis. Then they get upset about how modern games workshop, a multi billion dollar company, has gone woke or whatever. Then they go farther back into earlier editions to try to escape whatever it is they don’t like, only to find that the satire is stronger the farther back they go. A lot of these guys putt around for a while and then give up and sell their armies for really cheap on eBay and Facebook marketplace. A lot of them are willing to haggle.

That isn’t political, it’s economical.

Neither is the satisfaction I get when these guys tell me I don’t belong in the hobby and I show them my armies I’ve painted over almost 30 years.

Here is my custom chaos champion on a dread eagle! I based him more off Moorcockian Chaos than Warhammer Chaos, but he is a champion of chaos nonetheless! I usually run him as a champion on manticore or chaos dragon if I feel like spending the points!

I’m going to start showcasing more of my Warriors of Chaos stuff for a while. Starting with this converted chaos champion who rolled particularly peculiarly on the Realm of Chaos tables.

I love this guy.

I try to post something every day. I have a lot of stuff to show everybody. Here’s today’s! This Orc Warboss that I converted/kitbashed after listening to the Misfits a lot about 10 years ago or so. I named him Grimghost the Black and his lore is that he’s the leader of a warband from Sylvania called Da Grave Eatas! The ghouls eat the corpses and the boys eat the ghouls! One day I’ll make a regiment for him.

I kitbashed a Nippon Ronin in the Empire! They’ve taken out some raiding orcs!
