Just finished watching Sonic 3 and it was awesome!! Haven’t seen anyone written for movie Shadow yet sooo.. 👀
Warnings?: No spoilers for the movie in this! But maybe him being out of character, I haven’t wrote anything in years lol
- I feel like his love languages would be quality time and physical touch, he wouldn’t be used to touch at first but would gradually warm up to it. Definitely wouldn’t be the type to be over the top with public affection. Maybe handholding or a hand on your waist in public, but that’s probably it
- Might would be one to get jealous, needs reassurance that you’re not leaving and that you love him, truly. He’s been through a lot and needs to know that you’re not leaving him too
- Likes looking at the stars with you!! Reminds me of that one meme
“Do u like stars?”
“Ya, they’re cool”
- Likes to watch moves with you too! Just please don’t have him watch movies that have ‘aliens’ that are considered bad guys in it :( Just watch cat videos on YouTube with him, he’d be content with that
- Try and show him video games! He’d be really confused on how the controls work, a lot has changed in fifty years
- I feel like he’d like the game Stray, cause cats!! I feel like he absolutely loves cats. Would also probably like Stardew Valley, Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing. Anything that’s a calm game where you can just do whatever
- Speaking of cats.. he’d love going to a cat cafe with his s/o, would probably want to take them all home afterwards though
- Would end up having a black cat come up to him, rubbing against him and purring. He’d just pick up the cat and ask
“..can we take him home?”
- You can’t say no to Shadow, especially when he’s holding a cat in his hands.. so needless to say, you guys have a new pet now
- But besides cafe dates, just staying at home and cuddling would be perfectly fine with him as a date, anywhere with you, he’s happy
- I feel like he’d genuinely be a really good boyfriend, just takes him time to warm up a bit and get more comfortable with romantic stuff
- And motorcycle rides!! They’d be so fun, but if you get scared if he ever goes too fast, just ask for him to slow down or go a normal speed, he’d probably listen (cause it’s you)
- Gets all blushy and flustered when it comes to physical affection and kisses, he’s not used to it but he loves it
- He’d also like music, specifically older songs. Likes to put vinyls on a record player and dance with you to the song :’)) even if you don’t know how to dance, he’ll try and guide you

After two years (almost three) I’m back!! For how long? I have no idea lol
I just watched Sonic 3 in theaters and it was SOO GOOD. Not going to spoil it for those who haven’t seen it obviously, but I highly recommend watching it! You guys are gonna love it! Just remember to stay for the post credits scene, it was awesome!
I want to come back here to maybe write some more sonic x reader headcanon stuff!! I’m not sure if I’ll stay around for awhile, but I’ll write what I can :D

Knuckles with a slow & stupid S/O
He’s very confused but thinks it’s funny
Like you could be having a conversation in your head and then randomly just starts up a fight with yourself In your head
And then you just sit there with the same expression as the cat trying to process the fact you just insulted yourself, in your head.
He finds it interesting that you can’t stay still, he tends to stare at you by accident and watch you as you pace around
You could be waiting for the microwave to finish and you’re just pacing around the kitchen while you’re zoned out
He laughs whenever you try to process something and you have that face, it always catches him off guard
Like when you play video games with Sonic and he does some special move and kills you and you just sit there super confused
“Wait how the fuck did you do that??”
And Sonic laughing his ass off at both your facial expression and the fact he totally kicked your ass in the game
You can never understand anything Tails talks about, everything he talks about is to smart for you
“Okay! So now I have to put this Aviation kerosene into the plane and hopefully it’ll work now!”
“..huh?”
Tails sighed as he said “I have to put the go go juice into the tank of the plane to make the plane go vroom”
“Oohhh, why didn’t you just say so!”
“WAIT THEY ACTUALLY UNDERSTOOD THAT??-“
If anybody makes fun of you for your stupidity Knuckles won’t hesitate to beat them up
He’s like your own personal body guard
Needless to say he loves you regardless, he doesn’t care if you’re stupid or the smartest person in the world you’re still his S/O that he loves very much
I have no idea how planes work I literally had to Google search what planes ran on just to make sure it’s not some kind of fancy gas or something because I didn’t want to sound stupid

They're super optimistic all the time and get excited about EVERYTHING like absolutely anything fascinates them and they give compliments and affection all the time n basically just. Pure sunshine being. Though they kinda get into trouble without realizing it sometimes and will come home w the craziest (and concerning) stories all while keeping this face :D
They have so much energy that sometimes they just kinda. Spontaneously overcharge. And the rest have to look for them for near hours just to find them sound asleep knocked out behind the couch

You are literally so insanely hyper, I don’t even know how Knuckles can keep up with you
Yet Knuckles loves you so much <33 You’re the best thing to ever happen to him
You talk so much and so fast that most of the time he can’t even keep up or understand half of what you say, he just nods and goes “uh huh” as you keep ranting in excitement
You are just a ray of sunshine and can make anyone happy just by talking to them yet you tend to get into trouble without meaning too..
A large majority of the time you come home with the most concerning stories and the craziest animals in your arms and Knuckles has no idea how to respond
One time you came home with a raccoon huddled in your hoodie and everyone turned to you.
It was like that one scene from ICarly with the milkshake
“Um (Name)… Whatcha got there?”
“A smoothie.”
Tom immediately freaked out when he saw the raccoon and wanted you to get rid of it, but you refused to do so. You claimed that the raccoon is now your son and you make Knuckles go along with it
So despite Tom’s pleads for you to get rid of him, you and Knuckles now have a raccoon
If you have a pet cat, you will most likely chase them around the house as if it’s a game of tag (I do this, my cat screams at me if I don’t chase her around the house like a mad man)
Knuckles would be sitting on the couch watching you run around the house chasing the small animal, he thinks this is adorable though
You’re constantly complementing or giving affection to Knuckles and he secretly loves it, it just makes his heart go <333
He can’t even describe with words how much he loves you :’)
It makes him so happy seeing you talk so excitedly about something with such a happy face :D
You casually walk into the Wachowski home holding a hissing possum and your face is just :D

But whenever you end up getting tired you just pass out immediately, you’re out cold
Doesn’t matter where you are, you’re falling asleep
So whenever you fall asleep most of the time they have no idea where you could be since you normally fall asleep in the weirdest places
They’ll be searching for you late at night only to find you conked out behind the couch, Knuckles will have to carry you to bed and nine times out of ten you don’t remember what happened before you fell asleep
But Knuckles loves you regardless, you make his life so much brighter and interesting <3

Sonic
Okay so as we know, Sonic likes to talk, a lot.
And he likes to rant about stuff he’s interested in, it could be video games, comics, etc
And you do really like the stuff he talks about but if he talks for awhile (Which he normally does) you tend to zone out while he’s talking
He can usually tell if you zoned out because you have that exact expression of the cat.
He can’t help but laugh whenever you zone out because your expression is just so funny
But once he’s had his fun watching you stare off into space he’ll tap your shoulder or wave is hand in front of your face to get your attention
You’ve tried not to zone out while people are talking by interacting with what they say, just saying simple things like “That’s so cool!” “Woah!! Can you tell me more?” Etc
But you don’t interrupt what they’re saying or try to take the spotlight off of them, you just say simple stuff like that to keep your brain interested
Yet even if you do try saying stuff like that, you still tend to zone out while they’re talking
You also forget things easily, as an example, Tom asked you to go get Sonic and the others and tell them that dinner is ready and as soon as you walked off you immediately forgot what Tom asked you to do
You kinda just stood there trying to remember so you wouldn’t have to ask Tom what he asked you to do
You just slowing walked over to Tom and said “..What was it that you wanted me to do again..?” And he laughed a little and told you again. He thinks your forgetfulness and zoning out is funny, it doesn’t bother him though
Sonic loves how affectionate you are, you like to hug him a lot and sometimes you hug him a little bit to tight.. you don’t mean to though!
There’s been countless times where Tom or Maddie would walk into the living room and see you laying on the couch with Sonic laying on top of you about to fall asleep
He just thinks that you’re very comfy to lay on and he finds you running your hands through his fur very comforting
Tails
He would recommend medicine for you to help with your zoning out
If you’re hanging out with him your normally in his workshop and he’s talking about his newest invention and you’re just.. slowly zoning out with that everlasting brainless expression
Like Sonic, he also finds it funny but he won’t try to get your attention, he’ll just see how long you stay zoned out
You frantically apologize for zoning out while he was talking cause you didn’t mean to :(
He understands that you don’t mean to zone out and he just enjoys your company and that you let him talk about his inventions.. even if you’re zoned out the majority of the time
He really enjoys how affectionate you can be! Since he loves hugs he always goes to you for a hug
Once you were helping him repair his airplane and he asked for the wrench and when you were gonna get it you just.. forgot
You could not for the life of you remember what he asked for, you awkwardly shuffled over to him rubbing the back of your neck sheepishly and he sighed trying not to laugh asking
“You forgot what I asked for, didn’t you?” While holding back a laugh
“..Yeaaah”
“I asked for the wrench, Y/N”
You nodded and went back to get the wrench, thankfully, this time you didn’t forget
Knuckles
He would be very confused when you zone out since he’s never seen anyone else zone out before
Let alone someone zone out and have that everlasting brainless expression
He probably would take a picture of you and send it to the family groupchat with the caption “Is this normal?? Are they okay?”
They would tell him it’s normal for you to zone out and have that face when you do, he would still be confused though
He wouldn’t really know what to do to make you stop zoning out so he would just poke your face repeatedly
Once you stop zoning out he would sigh in relief, probably scared that you’d be stuck like that or something
He would offer you grapes in promise you wouldn’t zone out like that again cause it scared him, yet he wouldn’t say that out loud
His heart will flutter if you hold his hand and trace it with your fingers and stuff while you zone out it just gets him so <333
He isn’t one for affection but he accepts it from you
He enjoys your hugs and such, he likes how touchy feely you can be, he thinks it’s cute
Like the others, he doesn’t mind that you forget stuff easily
Once he was talking about something and you started to doze off as he was talking and you kinda just.. fell out of your chair..

Extremely confused as to what happened and if you’re okay
When you get up and tell him that you’re okay he’s very relieved

Dating Movie Knuckles Headcanons!
Definitely a mega softie towards his s/o
It was so incredibaly awkward when he confessed to you since he's never done anything like that before, he tried asking Sonic and Tails for advice but they didn't make the situation any better
Probably just ended up asking you if you wanted to get ice cream with him while hiding how nervous he was
"Knuckles, are you asking me out on a date?"
"Uh... yes?"
Loves to give you forehead kisses and hug you from behind
Whenever you cuddle he holds onto you like you're gonna disappear
Very paranoid about losing you like with his tribe
Was very skittish about dating you at first since he's secretly scared of being manipulated or used like Robotnik did with him
Lots of reassurance throughout the relationship, he's just so scared that you'll leave him
Likes to take you for a walk through the woods or to a peaceful meadow for dates
Would probably prefer a date outside than inside somewhere
Loves when you play with his quills or run your hands through his fur
Also loves playing with your hair if you let him

Period Headcanons With Tails + Knuckles!
Tails
Kinda worried at first but like Sonic he also calms down when you explain that it’s normal
Really nice about it and asks if you want any space or if you’d like for him to keep you company
Would definitely give you lots of hugs
Would grab snacks, blankets, heating pad, anything you need he’ll get it for you
Would probably try and research some things that might help you
Lots of cuddles and forehead kisses
Doesn’t like it when people touch his tails but your an exception
He would let you use his tails as a blanket if you wanted
You two would watch movies together and eat snacks
Knuckles
He hasn’t really had a mother figure in his life so he’s not to sure what to do
First thing he’d think to do is go to Maddie for help
Once she explained he’d probably treat you like royalty or something
“Y/N, I am honored that you requested of me to help you get through this”
You know how he is with speeches and stuff and plus he has little to no idea what he’s doing
He’ll ask you if you need anything and if you do he will be quick to get it
He’ll give you hugs if you want any, yet you did have to show him how to hug gently without crushing someone
Same goes with cuddles, he won’t admit it but he actually loves cuddles
He’ll play with your hair and give you forehead kisses while you cuddle
You two will watch movies while eating tubs of ice cream
The night will end with you and Knuckles asleep on the couch and Tom walking in stopping to a halt at the sight of snacks around the couch and tubs of ice cream, yet he can’t stay mad seeing how happy you are cuddled up with Knuckles
He will get his revenge though about the trashed living room by taking a picture of you two just to show the others and you two the next day

"Just one, Knux!" A whine left the [Animal Name's] lips, as they groaned in exasperation and rested their head on the table.
The echidna clutched the bowl of grapes to himself, shaking his head and started to eat his grapes. "I'm afraid not, [Name]. Tom has assigned these grapes in my grasp, and mine alone."
[Name] pouted playfully at the echidna, tapping their chin in thought. "Sooo, can't I trade you anything for those grapes?"
"Nope." Knuckles sternly stated, shaking his head yet again and focused on eating his grapes. He thought that would be the end of [Name's] antics, but what they said next caught him off-guard, as a whole.
"Soooo....You wouldn't want to give away those grapes for a kiss?" An eye ridge was raised teasingly, at the flustered echidna that held a furious look of embarrassment on his face.
"Wh-WHAT?! NO!" He banged his fist against the kitchen table in retaliation, turning away from the teasing [Animal Name] to not show his flustered look.
[Name] grinned slyly at this, taking this as an opportunity to slip up a peck on the echidna's cheek, Knuckles' eyes widened as wide as space-saucers.
The sly [Colour] mobian then takes it as their chance to snatch away the grapes. They started to running off with them, laughing to themselves, as they left the shocked red mobian.
Knuckles was still sitting down on the kitchen stool, his dominant gloved hand was on his cheek of where [Name] did the crime of giving him a kiss there. His mouth was slightly open, agape.
Swallowing in his breath, the ongoing warmth didn't leave the echidna's cheeks, as he was brought back to his attention on the fact that [Name] was getting away with his bowl of grapes.
"[NAME]!"

'The Adventures of Young Knuckles + Young [Name]!' : Young Knuckles and young [Name] head on over to the river to try catch some fish.
This is how it'll go...
"[Name], how are you so fast?"
"That's easy! I'm the greatest of all, that's why!"
"That's not true!" The young echidna fired back, as the two were jumping across the small, rushing river by jumping on the rocks. "My father is the greatest of all!"
"Well, that is true....Then, I'm the third greatest of all!" [Name] raised their fist into the air triumphantly, before falling onto the river. The two stared at each other in silence for a bit, before bursting out into laughter.
Shaking themselves off, [Name] got out from the river and grabbed her spear from the red echidna.
"Why the third and not the second?" Knuckles raised an eye ridge, quite curious for the [Animal Name's] answer, as the two trekked onwards and slowly came to a stop by the river.
"Because, if your father is the greatest of all: that should leave room for my father to be the second greatest of all! Leaving me, third place! I thought, you were smart, Knux!"
The young echidna puffed his cheeks in annoyance at this, narrowing his eyes and jeered his spear up to the surface of the river, readying himself. "I am smart, and I thought, I told you to--"
"--'stop calling you that', right?" [Name] questioned impatiently, mocking Knuckles in the inquiring moment and they laughed. "Yeah-Yeah, I know, Knucklehead."
"Knucklehead?!"
"Yeah!" [Name] grinned, sending the annoyed echidna a flashy smile. As they faced the river, they started to quickly jab their spear into the water. Splashing water was going about onto them, as the fish that came nearby were scurrying away.
Young Knuckles noticed this, widening his eyes and pushed [Name] away gently. "No-No, stop!"
Young [Name] held a confused look, raising an invisible brow and let out a noise of confusion. "Huh? Why?"
"Because, you're scaring the fish away. You have to wait--"
"But, waiting is so boori-i-i-i-ing!"
The red echidna rolled his eyes at this, sighing through his nose. "You don't have to catch them yourself, I'll catch them."
[Name] let out an annoyed huff, tossing their spear away next to time and sat down with a huff. Resting their hands on their side of their face, they ended up dozing off.
The sound of a fish being splattered about with water splashing on [Name's] face was heard upon Knuckles' ears. He nudged the dozing [Animal Name] up, as they stood up abruptly and looked at him with confusion.
"Huh?"
"Here." He sternly said, giving the rattling fish to them, still holding it in one hand. Knuckles looked away, almost too embarrassed to even look at them.
[Name] looked at the fish, then at Knuckles and they smiled a toothy grin. Taking the fish, they then hugged Knuckles.
"Thanks, Knuckles!"

You, a human, end up meeting the fiery-echidna, Knuckles. But, you both meet through a quite embarrassing form of way.
This is how it might go...
WARNINGS ;; NONE, JUST AN EMBARRASSING WAY OF MEETING.
[Name] placed their hands roughly in their pockets, trekking along the cobblestone ground and let out a deep sigh.
Their posture was slumped slightly, glancing around the area they were at. Their parents had forced them out from the house to quote-unquote; 'get some fresh air'.
[Name] rolled their eyes at the memory, a scoff leaving their lips and continued trudging along the place. They found themselves nearby the baseball field, whistling to themselves and bopped their head to a small beat they were playing out in their head.
Though, their whistling slowly whizzed to a stop from a sudden gush of wind. A raised brow appeared on the [boy's | girl's | person's] face, as they looked around and merely shrugged to themselves.
As they walked on, they were quickly knocked down. A sharpened pain filled them on their right cheek, stumbling back onto the floor.
"Agh..." A hiss of pain left [Name], trying to touch their cheek, but flinched visibly from the very touch of it. Their eyes were half-lidded from how painful the impact of whatever the object was to them.
Looking around, they saw something beside them on the ground:
A baseball.
An irritated groan was heard from [Name], as they listened in and heard a chorus of other noises in the distance;
"Ah, Knuckles, you've done it again!"
"Nice power punch, man!"
"Be a pal, and go fetch the ball, alright?"
"I shall go onwards with my quest to retrieve the basing-ball! I will not fail this quest!"
Then, the sound of footsteps only got louder and [Name] grabbed the baseball, getting up and started heading towards the footsteps.
Then, the two figures came to a stop as they faced each other. A red echidna and a human were now both staring each other down.
"You." [Name] started, pointing at the echidna, before pointing to the bruise on their right cheek. "Caused this."
Knuckles widened his eyes, going on one knee and bowed his head down in shame. "I solemnly apologise, fellow human. I was having...the fun!"
[Name's] left eye twitched in utter confusion, shaking their head and tried pulling the echidna up. "Get up. Why are you on one knee? What are you trying to do: propose?"
The small-minded joke only brought bewilderment to the echidna's face, as he hastily got himself up from the floor.
"The name's [Name]. Oh, and; here." The [Hair Colour]-haired [boy | girl | person] tossed the baseball to Knuckles, which the red echidna fumbled around for the ball and cupped it in his hands.
Holding the ball in one glove of his, Knuckles used the other to strike his chest in introducing himself. "I am Knuckles, the Echidna Warrior. Trained since birth in all forms of combat--"
"Hm, nice-nice." [Name] quickly interrupted, wavering their hand in a dismissive manner and looked around. "Don't you have some people to get back to?"
The red mobian was slightly caught off-guard from the question, sheepishly nodding in response and turned. As he started walking back, he glanced back at [Name] and cleared his throat.
Realising that the echidna warrior was wanting to invite [Name] to join over, they shook their head. "Uh, no-no! I don't--"
"I insist, dear [Name]. I want to apologise deeply for my actions when I was going through the course of the fun."
Letting out a prolonged sigh, [Name] realised that the echidna might not leave them off from this case. So, they nodded slowly and tagged along with the echidna.
"Sooo...." The [Hair Colour]-haired [boy | girl | person] started, trying to break off the silence from the walk. "What types of combat are you trained in?"

Young Knuckles and young you are just trying to catch a frog.
This is how it might go...
WARNINGS ;; NONE, JUST SOME ADORABLE FLUFF.
Ribbit! The frog croaked, sitting by the creak of a sturdy log. A fly whizzed by, but it was retracted into the frog's mouth very quickly. And, the green-spotted frog continued croaking.
Ribbit!
A set of violet eyes and [Eye Colour] eyes were peeking through the bushes. Shuffling about in the bushes caught the frog's attention, as it ribbited yet again and hopped to the other side of the log.
The shuffling shifted over to a hidden area nearby the bush.
"Remember, just like we practiced, Knux!"
"Don't call me that, and shush! You might scare the prey away!"
"Prey? What are you talking about? We're going to catch a frog! Not whatever, 'prey' is!"
"'Prey' is-- Nevermind, just keep quiet!"
Silence enveloped the area, all that was heard was the wind rushing about and the frog's rigid croaking. All of a sudden; a series of puny war-cries were heard, as the two small figures jump out after the frog with spears in their hands.
The young red echidna charged towards the frog with full force, while the other young [Colour] [Animal Name] was depending on their spear more and jabbing it at the air.
The frog widened its eyes and hopped away quickly, before the two could even reach it and it caused the young mobians to topple down onto the floor.
"Augh!"
"Aw, man..."
The two groaned in annoyance, getting up and rubbing the dirt off from themselves. "We'll get it next time, Knux!"
"Yeah, we will and I thought, I told you to stop calling me that!"
"You did, but I didn't want to listen." [Name] shrugged, a lop-sided grin on their fuzzy face and flicked the young echidna's nose.
Knuckles let out s splutter, wrinkling his nose and backed his head away in shock from the flick. A small frown crossed onto his lips, as he crossed his arms.
"Now, c'mon! We might find something at the river!" The young [Animal Name] excitedly commented, quickly forgetting about the runaway (more like; hop-away) frog.
They grabbed the echidna's hand, dragging him away with them and Knuckles let out a surprised yip of bewilderment.
"Slow down, [Name]!"

Knuckles trying to confess to you, but ends up using the wrong statements and gets all embarrassed from this.
This is how it might go...
WARNINGS ;; NONE, JUST SOME FLUFF.
Knuckles fumbled around with his gloves in such discomfort, his nose wrinkled in an unamused expression and he let out a deprived sigh.
His companions, Sonic and Tails, had helped to prep him up for what he’d do next. He was quite unsure with himself, as he was still new to the complexions of this peculiar planet, Earth.
Nonetheless, he didn’t want to seem like a coward and back down for this next courageous act. So, as Sonic and Tails whizzed away to go wait by the truck to drive off for ice-cream. They awaited for Knuckles and [Name].
Before the blue blur went off to the truck, he teasingly nudged the red echidna and gestured over to the [Animal Name] that was packing up the baseball gear they had used.
[Name] handed the gear over to Tom and Maddie, as the couple ruffled the [Colour] mobian’s fluff and they grinned in pride. Turning, they were immediately faced with Knuckles’ face and they let out a shocked yell at this.
Stumbling backwards on their own feet, Knuckles widened his eyes in an apologetic manner. “My apologies, [Animal Name]. I merely wanted to, uh, tell you something.”
[Name] woozily nodded, adjusting their baseball cap that Tom had given to them and they leaned against the post-board in curiosity. “It’s, uh, fine. What is it you wanted to tell me?”
“Well, uh...” Knuckles trailed off, looking at his gloves and found that whatever he wrote on them was smudge up. A frown slipped onto himself from this, as he didn’t know what to say now. But, he recalled some comments from the main part of Green Hills that could help him out with this situation.
“Will you marry me, [Name]?”
The [Animal Name] widened their eyes in shock, coughing on the air and shook their head to steady themselves, since they almost tripped up on their own two feet. “Excuse me, what--?”
“Wrong line, Knux!” Sonic yelled out, cupping his hands to his mouth from where he was at from the back of the truck.
[Name] furrowed their invisible brows, glancing over to the echidna, who seemed to be shuffling about to try think up on what to say.
“What I am meaning to say is: Happy Birthday-- Wait, uh, Merry Christmas!--” The echidna rambled on what seemed to be utter nonsense, growing frustrated and quickly flustered from how much of a mess he was being in front of [Name].
“Remember, just how we practiced it, Knuckles!” Tails chorused out, managing to stop the echidna from further embarrassing himself.
Knuckles sent the fox and the hedgehog, both firm nods and faced the confused [Animal Name]. Mustering up all his courage, Knuckles curled his hands into fists with determination.
“We’ve had quite a journey, dear [Name]. Meeting you was quite interesting from then onwards. And, even though we’ve had our ups and downs, this has all made me realise something.”
“What’s it made you realise, Knuckles?” [Name] pushed themselves off from the post-board, staring at the red echidna with such an intent look of interest and curiosity. Knuckles noticed them taking a few steps towards him, as he took a few steps back himself.
“Well, uh, I have realised that I--” He paused for a moment, it seemed like he was second-guessing himself. But, he took in a deep breath and spluttered out his next words.
“I have realised, that I have fallen for you, [Name] the [Animal Name].”

Knuckles is about to gain the upper-hand, as you're struck down onto ground and he's ready to blow the final-fist in vengeance. But, something seems to delay this whole thing...
This is how it'll turn out...
WARNINGS ;; ANGST || MENTIONS OF INJURIES + BLOOD
This was it.
[Name] was to pay for their most heinous crime ever yet: 'betraying Knuckles'.
Knuckles recoiled his right fist back in preparation, curling it in and it was vividly shaking with such rage. Red sparks flew on his right fist, as [Name] stared at Knuckles, looking into his eyes for one last time.
Knuckles scrunched his nose up, not wanting to see that look in [Name's] eyes and he just went in to strike. As his fist was about to make contact with the [Animal Name], Knuckles felt himself flinch and recoil back in shock.
His breath hitched, as he stared at [Name] and he saw the fear in their eyes. He saw trembling, he saw the injuries he had caused. And, most importantly of all:
He saw the [Name] he had once known.
Shaking his head rapidly, Knuckles brought his dominant fist back and went in to try strike again. But, this was more evidently hesitant and the red echidna gritted his teeth with such frustration.
He just couldn't bring himself to do it. Not to [Name].
Blood dripped down [Name's] forehead, as they groaned silently and breathed heavily, tiredly staring at Knuckles. The echidna's body was shaking, his angry glare still painted upon his face and he punched the ground beside [Name's] head with such resent.
Some mud on the floor was splattered with water droplets. Those were tears. Tears of so many different emotions that belonged to the echidna, Knuckles:
Anguish.
Fear.
Anger.
Resent.
Shame.
Body rigid in his sorrow, Knuckles bowed his head down in shame and he couldn't even bear to look at [Name], turning his face away from them.
An anguished cry of many mixed emotions was erupted from his lips, quickly moving away from [Name] and stumbled upon his feet, as he backed away: the [Colour] [Animal Name] gradually sat themselves up and rubbed their head in pain.
They looked to the echidna, confusion filled within them, as they saw Knuckles shake his head rapidly and turn his back on [Name]. In a defeated manner, the fuelled-up echidna sat down with a huff and brought his legs to his chest.
[Name] stumbled on their feet, using a tree to support them and they slowly made their way towards the distressed echidna. Bringing their hand up to his shoulder, Knuckles fiercely looked at them, his eyes flashed an aggressive red and he barked out:
"Go away!"
At this, the [Colour] mobian took quick steps back and swallowed down their breath.
"...Please..." Knuckles muttered, a pleading tone wavered in his voice, as it cracked in fear that he would crack any moment himself again.
The [Animal Name] didn't say anything, as they limped over and carried Sonic with a somewhat struggle, carrying him in a bridal style out from the greenly forest they were set in.
Knuckles peered over his shoulder, seeing the blue and [Colour] figures disappear off into the distance. The red echidna looked over at himself in the reflection, his left fist hit the water to discern his reflection and caused water ripples to appear.
The next words he muttered out, he felt so shameful to even have to try say it to his reflection. When, he truly knows who to say these next words to:
"...I'm sorry, friend..."

You being Knuckles’ long-lost friend, and yet here he finds you here: with his enemy, Sonic of all people.
This is how it’ll turn out...
WARNINGS ;; VIOLENCE || MAY CONTAIN BLOOD || ANGST
“...So, you’re acquaintances with the hedgehog?” Knuckles narrowed his eyes, his question seemed roughed out and demanding for [Name] to confirm, if he was correct. Most of the time, he believed himself to be right, but he hoped he wasn’t right this time.
Maybe, this was all a misunderstanding.
[Name] was leaning against the tree, bruised up from the explosion and slowly turned to see an unconscious Sonic, sprawled out on the floor as well.
As they slowly crawled to the blue hedgehog, the red echidna saw this and immediately grabbed them by the neck.
“Answer me!” He demanded in an enraged tone, his face squirmed with pure anger, as his eyes were now a deceitful-looking colour of red. The frightened [Animal Name] gripped at the echidna’s boxing glove, hoping to pull it off and they gritted their teeth in trying to ignore the pain on their neck.
Knuckles was already feeling too impatient, he wanted an answer and he wanted it now.
“Answer me. Are you acquaintances with that hedgehog?”
Silence filled them after that question was placed on anger, the echidna grew even more annoyed and tightened his grip on the [Animal Name’s] neck. [Name] squirmed around even more, coughing even and took in a deep breath, quickly nodding.
“Yes-Yes, but he’s--”
Knuckles didn’t even give them time to finish off their sentence. He’d heard enough already.
Slamming them down into the ground, the earth shook its core, as thickened cracks appeared underneath [Name’s] head from the impact. Their eyes were dazed with exhaustion, struggling to maintain their strength.
Knuckles threw them back to the tree, the force caused a cracking yell of pain from [Name], as they were slumped back on the tree. The fiery echidna slowly walked towards them, gritting his teeth.
“Get up, traitor. Put up a fight, at least!” It almost seemed, like he was hoping for [Name] to reach out into the light of them fighting back.
[Name] coughed, shuffling on where they were lying down at and groaned from seeing Knuckles about to fire a punch at them.
Tiredly, they huffed and rolled to the side quickly, away from the tree safely. Knuckles huffed at this, running towards them and started firing multiple punches at them at once.
[Name] was up on their feet in the flash of light, trying their best to dodge the punches. Unfortunately, a flurry of them caused a bleeding nose for them and they sucked in their breath to withhold the pain. Knuckles twirled his fist around, before sending a final punch through [Name’s] stomach and sending them flying upwards.
Now in mid-air, Knuckles climbed up the tree and launched himself up to be right beside [Name] in the air. As the two started punching ‘n dodging, Knuckles showed his rage in not only through the combat, but through his words as well.
“We used to be such great friends. But, you had to go away and make amends with the enemy!”
“But-- he isn’t the enemy, Knux--”
“You do not get to call me that, traitor. I don’t even know you anymore.”
“You do though, Knux-- Knuckles! Remember when we went by the lakes and tried catching some treasure--”
“Stop it.”
“--Or when we always stayed out to watch the stars night, or when we had competitions to see who could eat the most food--”
“No-No, stop it.”
“--Oh, remember when we had combats and your father taught us--”
“ENOUGH!”
And, with that; Knuckles had ruby red electricity wiring throughout his body, as he used his two fists to punch [Name] down to the ground. The terrified [Animal Name] let out a piercing scream, as a sickening boom was heard upon all in the radius.
Knuckles landed on the ground, as he walked over to see a hole with [Name] in it, forcefully picking them up as well. [Name] kicked the echidna off from them, rolling onto the ground and they sat up. As they were about to make a narrow escape with Sonic, Knuckles had tackled them down with such force, holding them down with such harshness.
“You may think those memories will mean for me to forgive you, but it won’t work. Those memories are nothing to me.” Knuckles uttered out, slanting his teeth and he leaned towards [Name’s] ear to then whisper;
“You mean nothing to me anymore.”
[Name] squinted their eyes, trying to hold in their sobs. They felt that nothing would help them in this situation now. “...I’m sorry.”
“Sorry?! You’re apologising? Ha, don’t make me laugh.” Knuckles rolled his eyes, sneering at the injured [Animal Name]. “How pitiful. You make amends with the hedgehog, someone who made us lose EVERYTHING. Now, you will pay for even betraying me.”
The cracking of knuckles were heard, as the raging echidna recoiled his right hand backwards, curling it into a firm fist.
“Goodbye, [Name] the traitorous [Animal Name].”
