me: oh I have so much work to do! also me: hehe cutie patootie but seriously, whenever I read B.P.R.D. book focused on Trevor's adventures, I love how there are small snippets of Hellboy's childhood squished in between the main action, it gives a little behind-the-scenes vibe, and I'm all for it
There's a hellboy game in the works and OOOOOOOOH boy when I tell you when I tell you WHEN I TELL YOU
I’ll post some photos later but I read a hellboy Christmas special I got in a mystery comic pack and it started my hellboy obsession!
the art was so pretty and it was a great introduction too!
Are there any Xmas story in comic books you enjoy reading? Mine would have to be the story where Damian bought Jon a console for Xmas. Holiday Special 2016

So I read through the main running of Hellboy, in omnibus 1-4, and let me just say wow that was so sad.
In essence, its a doomed-by-the-narrative type tragedy. It tells you over and over exactly what is going to happen, but it somehow tricks you into having hope, just like HB, that he can change his fate and avoid the inevitable.
But thats what the story is about- the inevitable. The world is going to end and he’s going to end it, whether he wants to or not. He is granted a minor mercy by having the world he ends be hell, but its an empty victory. You see him resist it through the entire story and slowly lose hope, becoming more tired, and you lose hope with him.
The entire time reading it, I was begging for HB to catch some sort of break- to have something good happen to him. In the end, him accepting his fate and ending everything almost felt like a mercy, like he finally done with it and could rest.
Anywho, Mignola is an amazing writer and I will never be okay again.
Just a casual reminder to do your best every day from an inspiration for the show.
An excerpt from HELLBOY IN HELL The Three Gold Whips Story and Art by Mike Mignola Colors by Dave Stewart. Character one (an elderly looking man), "It's an Endless Parade of Horrors." Hellboy in response, "Pretty Much."
I had a half-finished pencil test or a HELLBOY rotation that I worked on, in 2000. Last night, I added and inked a few missing drawings, so that I could get it ready to post on HELLBOY Day! Congratulations to Mike Mignola for 25 Years of this iconic character!
'HELLBOY' illo that I did for a charity auction, back in 2004.. Parts of it look wonky to me now. But I liked how the coloring came out. Especially, the swamp scum details..
A page I bought directly from Mignola, at the 2001 SDCC.. I had a few others, but hadda sell 'em on eBay a few years back. This one though, I couldn't part with.. It's going to the grave with me!
