i’ve never asked a question before on tumblr, but I am absolutely in love with your headcannons! So I decided to ask one:
Why did the mercenaries choose to become hired killers instead of getting a normal job?
Scout: he was desperate for money so he could support his Ma
Soldier: he kept being denied joining the army and becoming a solider, so he turned to the only company that would make him feel like one
Pyro: it was this or go back to some very dark places, but at least here they have a group of friends and not people treating them like a freak
Demoman: demolition work runs in the family but he found regular demolition to be too boring, Mann Co. allows him to make and test his own bombs
Heavy: similar to Scout, he wanted to make money to support his family but knew boxing wasn't going to cut it in the long run
Engineer: his family has always had close ties with Mann Co. and so it was more expected of him to follow that path
Medic: mercenary work for Mann Co. was the only place willing to allow him to perform his experiments, plain and simple
Sniper: there's a lot of sick people out there in the world, and he only needs one bullet per person to take them all out
Spy: this type of work is all he's ever known
