Do you hear that? The screams, the whispers, the stories of lives untold? They're coming from The Valley...

Do you feel that? The stares from behind the curtains, the red Earth under your feet, the dry heat, the fire from below? It's coming from The Valley...

Do you hear that? The wicked beats, Australian-Gothic sub-influences, killer modern instrumental, your next favourite band? They are The Valley.

Introducing,

The Valley of The Vultures. An ethereal grunge-rock band hailing from rural Victoria that has a story to tell. The band's founder and lead singer, Sami Le Launter (what a name!) has taken elusive elements from Australian-Gothic such as themes of; isolation, death and hauntings, rejection, fear, and entrapment - and put them in sparkly cowboy boots.

Placing a twist on what we know to be of the Gothic genre, VoTV has further expanded the band's sound by incorporating Australian surf-rock styles and prog rock into the mix, creating something that is truly unique to the contemporary Aus music scene. With 15 monthly listeners, this is a very new and promising band with small gig dates expected over the next 6 months, and possibly a new spooky single!

Standout single 'Fleshed Out Boogie" from their debut album, contains all the elements of a good Australian Rock song -that being, entertaining to listen to, but not too hard on the brain - making it a song perfect for your next afternoon cookout. The song's true hook is found within the contrast between the verses and the chorus. This is done by Le Vaunter's clever use of vocals, by transitioning from an almost monotone, more sensible storytelling technique within the verses, to a passionate series of 'howl-like' cries within the chorus, effectively reminding the listener of the subtle themes of gothic and horror within the song. All this is done whilst keeping the song aligned with the soft 'surf-esque' vibes that Australia hold near and dear to its music scene.

Surely to be enjoyed by lovers of: Lazy Ghost, Plastic Beach, The Howlers, The Growlers, and Truckfighters.

30 years ago the American rap scene was defined by sounds easily identifiable, even to the untrained ear. Since the mass rap "shake-up" of the '90's, the sound has become more diverse, by introducing new genres such as trap, mumble and crunk. But let's take rap back to it's roots with this up and coming artist, 34Profitt.

Profitt's discography is full of influence from past and present rap legends, with his sound pendulum-swinging between classic RnB and contemporary rap. Personally, I think Profitt really shines when he takes from those East-West coast elements derivative of 90's rap.

The standout song from his small collection, "Get It By Tomorrow" really shows where this artist has potential to shine. The production value has been carefully curated to transport a listener through time, or better yet, teleport you to the lands of Los Santos, where you're bound to go 120 with Franklin in the drivers seat. Profitt's use of the classic elements of 90's rap, creates a blend of East-West coast sounds, reminiscent of Biggie and Tupac. The lyrics are quick-witted and leave impact with the listener, and the instrumental takes from the rising low-fi elements of today, further creating a sound that resembles that of yesteryear, with a touch of today.

Don't be fooled by the album graphics, after all, you can't judge a book - or should I say a song? - by its cover. This sound of music is not something that is commonly heard today, and with only THREE monthly listeners, and very little to know about the artist, jump on this train before anybody else!
