i feel so bad for ruby. she left bridgerton to take the role of lucy.
i feel bad for cameron. this was his first official acting job and he did an incredible job.
i feel bad for ali. george karim was such a wonderful character and he was perfect for the role.
i feel bad for mr stroud. he wrote this incredible books and finally got it made into a show, a show so true to the books, it surprised even me that a book to show adaptation could be so well done. you could see how devastated he was in his post and i cried reading it.
i feel bad for complete fiction pictures. it was so awesome to see them interacting with the fans and you could tell they cared about this show.
i feel bad for everyone involved with the production of the show. all of their hard work to make the show amazing was much appreciated. i am so grateful for everything that went into the show from them and even though it won’t be continued, the season that we had was more than we could have ever hoped for.
i feel bad for us, the fans. we’ve spent months and even years in this fandom. the day that the teaser trailer dropped was one of the best days of my life. after years of living off of crumbs, sometimes not even, suddenly having an influx of new things to obsess over was such a great experience. and speaking of great experiences, having a community to talk about my favorite series has been one of the best things ever.
i am upset at netflix for not promoting our show and canceling it after not getting enough views. but even though we don’t get another season, i’m so glad i got to have this wonderful journey with you all. i love you guys.
Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the whole point of Netflix originals is to give people an incentive to sub to Netflix to watch a particular show or movie that they can’t watch anywhere else?
What is even the point of labeling something a “Netflix original” if it’s just going to get removed from the service regardless?
Yes, I am aware of the fact that Dreamworks owns the rights to Voltron, but it still doesn’t make any sense to remove the series from Netflix when it has been an “original” for eight years now.
If the Netflix exclusivity deal wasn’t a permanent thing, then they should have been upfront about that.
Anyway, keep buying physical media and keep pirating everything that never got released on DVD/Blu Ray.
Just think about it makes me feel terrible because everyone put their blood, sweat and tears and did mental gymnastics for VLD, just for it to be lost and all for nothing
Content creation isn't as easy as it seems
So I haven’t posted anything about vld on this blog, but it’s one of my special interests that I cycle in and out of over time, so I felt the need to say something.
The show is going to be removed from Netflix on the 7th December, even though it’s been a “Netflix original” for years. Dream works owns the rights of the show but streaming and distribution is more complicated. Some fans have been hoping that another streaming service will pick it up but nothing official has been said.
What worries me is the fact that according to the offical insta seasons 1-6 are on DVD so there is still a way to watch those but seasons 7 and 8 don’t have DVDs (even tho it’s been years since those seasons came out…) and I’m not sure how them getting off Netflix will effect that in the future.
I know a lot of people don’t like the last two seasons (not without good reason) but I don’t think VLD deserves getting screwed over like this. It’s really not fair that the show was getting banished to the ether like this. the issues with streaming and lost media because of no physical copies has become a recurring topic of discussion and this is one of the signs. Yeah the fandom died pretty quickly after the show was over, but it was still a massive when I was out of height And even if it wasn’t there was clearly a lot of love put into the show into the animation. It’s not fair that it’s just gonna end like this not with a bang but with a whimper I know it sounds melodramatic but I still care about the characters and the people who worked on it deserve their show being properly remembered.
Sorry, I know this was mostly just ranting and rambling, but it’s really messing me up.
