Leonid Pasternak (Ukrainian, 1862–1945) - The Torments of Creative Work
Personally, I write stupid silly scenarios that are useless and unrealistic but they make me giggle
I don’t write from nothing. Every character, every word is the echo of reality. Every feature is plucked from someone I knew, every line from a conversation I had, every heartbreak is my own.
I just try to write better endings.
you may argue “but how do I know if my work is good without feedback?”
and to that I say, the fact that you are simply creating, connecting ideas and bringing them to life on paper is a process so passionate and beautiful, how could it not be good?
even with spelling errors, even with unfinished ideas, even with a strange writing style - it is still art, and it is beautiful.
No matter what they say, there are no rules to art that define good and bad. You are good, for you are an artist <3
my beloved writers,
you need to seriously challenge your mindset of writing for likes and such. You already know you should write for yourself, so do it.
It does not matter. They are numbers.
If your productivity and motivation are tied to how much positive feedback you get, you are killing the artist inside of you. To be an artist means to not be chained down by anything - not opinions, not feedback, not an audience.
It is no complex, hard task to stop caring. Just stop. Stop caring for it. I promise, it will be the most freeing thing you can do for your mind.
Sincerely,
a long recovered Wattpad-Reads-Obsessor.
Your honor she’s not just some lesbian, that’s my father
if you see a woman driving poorly it’s sexist to assume that it’s because she’s a woman. maybe she’s still learning. maybe she’s doing it on purpose because she’s an asshole. maybe she feels entitled to the road. maybe she’s going to die soon and she had vehicular manslaughter on her bucket list. maybe she has a car crash fetish
yippieeee~ ahahaha~ yaaaaaaaaay~!⋆。°✩
tragedy enjoyers when a character perpetuates the cycle of violence they themselves were a victim of
