Here will be a post where I’ll be sharing links of my works related to One Piece and original characters from this fandom.

The main focus will be on Hawkins, his crew, and my original characters.

Finally, I’ve sorted through my works to highlight:

When I found out that, canonically, Hawkins' animal resemblance is a horse.

That made me wonder who would suit Marie. I eventually settled on roe deer 🦌

There’s always a warm place in my heart for the artworks of little Marie and Hawkins. And yes, I’m still not over the topic of her cooking 🤧

Hawkins: Faust? You’re here? I thought you were in the kitchen.

Faust: Oh, Captain! No, Marie is there at the moment. She wanted to cook something special for you, so she asked for my permission. I didn’t mind.

Hawkins: …Does Marie even know how to cook?

Faust: Well…I didn’t actually ask.

My headcanon that Faust is the cook on the ship. Firstly, a cat chef is just adorable. Secondly, his signature dish is biscuits!

Like a proud mom, I want to show how my Marie and Jack have grown - from the first sketches to first more serious works and to what they’ve become now. 🤧

The first sketch of Marie appeared back in November 2023. At first, I imagined her simply as a mysterious artist, but later this turned into the story of an unfortunate girl abandoned by her own relatives on a deserted island because they believed she was a witch. On her home island, people have only a shallow understanding of Devil Fruits, which fueled their fear.

She was a princess from the late Middle Ages — since that’s the +/- same time period where her native kingdom exists 🤷‍♀️

At first, Jack was purple. His abilities changed multiple times, but one thing always stayed the same: he was always a wanderer, helping others and existing in a permanent state of calm, almost meditative serenity. Oh, and some features like his hairstyle, glasses, and the four-leaf clover in his hair remained consistent in every version.

And one more thing. I’m much better at drawing Basil’s nose now...😭

I adore Hawkins, without a doubt. But that nose was my struggle

Traditionally (a tradition that started last December), I’m finishing the year with Hawkins. Because this character is gorgeous enough for such an important role 💅💕

And I must say, I absolutely love this year artworks 😭

Hawkins: "We’re not friends for it to be a necessity. Well...with most of them, anyway. I consider it my duty to give them a break from my presence."

Marie: "Don’t you ever get curious?"

Hawkins: "I enjoy silence, Marie. Sometimes I prefer being alone."

Marie: "O-oh, I see…"

Hawkins after a pause: "Besides, they sing weird songs when they’re drunk. I honestly have no idea how I’m supposed to react to that."

Marie: "You don’t have to! Just join in and sing with them!"

Hawkins gives her a sharp glance, then looks away: "Absolutely not."

So! Imagine Hawkins as a mysterious librarian who knows all secrets and gossips. She appears silently behind you and vanishes just as quickly. And if you break the library rules? It’s best not to find out what might happen next...

° Marie's initial time with the pirates was a true cultural shock for her. Her home was so far removed from modernity that she had never even heard about a lot of things. Like electricity, for example. Adapting to everyday life proved to be quite a challenge for her.

Here are the top 3 most terrifying household appliances, according to Marie:

Hawkins: "So, you're telling me that ghosts here don't scare you, but a toaster does?"

Marie: "Ghosts don’t suddenly spit out hot bread at you! Sometimes burnt bread! You must have noticed how no matter how much you try to predict when the bread will pop out, it still startles you."

Hawkins: "No, Marie... I haven’t noticed."

Marie: "Then, maybe you just haven’t been paying close enough attention to this phenomenon."

Hawkins: "What about the vacuum cleaner?"

Marie: "The vacuum cleaner is an insatiable monster. I’m sure it’ll wake up in the middle of the night and eat my belongings."

Hawkins (raising an eyebrow): "Did Faust tell you that?"

Marie: "Faust knows what he’s talking about. His fears are not unfounded."

Hawkins: "Alright. And what’s wrong with the sewing machine?"

Marie: "It chatters like a tiny mechanical demon, trying to pierce my fingers if I’m not careful!"

Hawkins: "Seriously?"

Marie: "Yes, and I, Captain, prefer it when my fingers remain attached to me rather than becoming part of a fabric design."

Hawkins: "You just need more practice."

Marie: "By the time I get enough practice, I won’t have any intact fingers left..."

Marie, with genuine enthusiasm, places a newspaper in front of Hawkins: "Captain, I’ve found something to keep me busy for the next couple of days while we’re resting on this island! A nanny job!"

Basil, slowly frowning, picks up the newspaper and starts reading: "It says here… a giant drake is looking for a nanny for the weekend to take care of his ducklings? Is this a joke?"

Marie: "What’s so strange about it? Ducks are parents too! And his ducklings are still so tiny."

Basil: "And why are you telling me this?"

Marie: "Because you’re going to help me. You can transform into a straw creature. You’d make a perfect nest..."

Basil: "Stop, no. Don’t even try to continue this thought."

Basil: "That's definitely not what I meant."

Meanwhile:

Cavendish: "Oh, a lady! Quick, you - tell me, how do I look?"

Basil: What do you mean?

Basil: So…when exactly will he get back to normal?

Bella: Oh, in about…fifteen minutes…hours…maybe a few days?

Basil: /sighs wearily/

Bella and Donna (original characters) are ship’s doctors and herbalists in Hawkins’s crew. Some kind of "witchy duo." They specialize in potions, brews, and other curative concoctions.

So sometimes the results of their experiments with new concoctions can be a bit unpredictable - not overly so, but still enough to keep things interesting.

I absolutely love creating small artworks on characters' everyday/routine situations. But I come up with so many ideas that I'm not sure I'll be able to bring them all to life - especially since my inspiration constantly jumps from one idea to the next 🤧

So, I thought: why not share some of these concepts in a script format? These are the ones I might not have time to develop in detail, but I still really want to share. I might add a small sketch, but the main idea would be in text form 🤔

Maybe someday I'll come back to these and create something more detailed when inspiration strikes. What do you think?

I'm always intrigued by thinking about the potential dynamic between Marie and Basil in their childhood.

And when I think about it, they somewhat remind me of Aisling and Brendan from The Secret of Kells.

A young version of Marie would be restless, brave, and always pulling the quiet and slightly reclusive Basil into new adventures without hesitation.

However, the irony of fate is that, over time, under the pressure of her family, Marie's bright spirit was broken, and her former courage turned into shyness and insecurity, while Basil, on the other hand, grew into a confident and composed leader.

Interesting fact about Marie: One of her hobbies is embroidery. Although it didn’t become her true passion, it is deeply rooted in her family’s culture. Given Marie's background and medieval-like structure of her home island, embroidery was a part of the education of girls from aristocratic families.

Even though it became more of a routine habit for her, embroidery still gives her a sense of calm.
