don't mind me just brain dumping ajsjfsdf I know I normally do stuff like this but I've been getting deep into inscription and its fandom and I see a lot of people do this so here I go- ahah even tho I have no idea what the tumbler educate is for doing this shiz. so I have a little AU in my head of potential origin stories of the scrybes. (if you haven't seen/played inscryption now is a good time to keep scrolling to avoid spoilers) so this little AU concept I have in my head stems from the idea of the "player" touching the Old.data and getting glitched back in time and the first person they run into is Rebecha and a "new" friend. they aren't quite fixing the bridge- no no no! their building the bridge. but for some reason, they aren't building a bridge to P03's factory. in fact- there is no factory to speak of. bringing the player to ask "where is the factory?? where is P03?" Rebecha responds with "who? what factory?" they look at the player funny as they call down their friend who was welding parts of the bridge. "woof. Pollie are you hearing this guy? their claiming that a factory up and walked away!" their friend comes down pulling off their welding mask or whatever and you see this seemingly never before seen character seemingly named Pollie with a color palette of grays and blues. "please. if there was a factory running around here id be working in it. it would preferable to working in the sun." and thus begins pollie's P03s origin story of going from a semi-nice girl working with her friend. to a nearly intolerable deck seat driving dick head. with ups and downs of getting their arm chopped off and having his consciousness uploaded into a motherboard. I'm soooo drawing stuff related to this laterrrrr.

Since there’s an ARG for finding Amber’s name, could there also be one for the woodsmen? Or The Lonely Wizard? Or P03’s workers? (Ik they’re robots and he wouldn’t bother naming them but it has a name so why can’t they)

Fun Inscryption fact

it’s implied that the meat pile Leshy gives you when you win a campaign in Act I is actually ground from Grimora’s corpse. It’s in the safe that you find the Stinkbug card in and Grimora’s corpse isn’t in the storage room with PO3 and Magnificus

Blue robots who I think are my friends and then they betray me and take over the game and then I have to violently dethrone them with the help of the guy who I had been fighting at the beginning of the game but now I think we're friends instead?

Favorite Inscryption moment

Okay so! I finally beat Leshy in Inscryption and oooooooohh is the found footage type stuff so cool! I loved Pony Island so I'm super excited to see where this is going.

I may or may not have had to quit out and restart the battle several times against Leshy... I had a really good deck, but things just kept going poorly and I knew I could actually beat him if I just got things right. Didn't take too long but it was a little frustrating. ^^;

Now I'm on to Act II and I've chosen to go with Grimora's dead deck first. I just kinda picked one at random. Right at the start of the opening cutscene for the new game, I figured that the Scrybes must be the talking animal cards along with Leshy who finally gets named. It clicked because of the shape of the tech Scrybes things which was what the Stoat's head looked like for a bit.

I've gotten to the map and I'm getting very Pokemon vibes from this all now. I was down to Grimora's place first and she's already breaking the fourth wall. She tried to describe the way bones work then paused saying that my eyes had glazed over. Then she proceeded to comment that her time as an insect was not a total waste. I am so intrigued hehehe.

leshy is my weird tree forest deity grandpa and you can’t convince me otherwise. i hated him so much at the start mainly because of how i kept dying as well as knowing the fact that he trapped the other scrybes in cards but that one line during the finale, “I sense the end approaching. Please… a few more rounds.” just hit me so hard when i played it and now i’ll kinda admit i care about him a bit.

random headcanon of mine is that when you die in kaycee’s mod since he isn’t shown trapping you in a deathcard, i like to think he just has this random power of being able to put you to sleep my covering your eyes and then you wake back up when you start a new run. also kinda like the idea of him just putting everything back in its place and tidying stuff up while you’re eeping off in the corner of the cabin.

this whole time i thought kaycee’s mod was just like a really well-praised fanmade mod for inscryption. only now i decided to look into it and found out how to get it on switch and. oh my god i thought i was done with this game but oh my god i get to see the old tree man leshy again

A quick sketch I did wondering what the Inscryption P03-fied stoat would look like if we saw its whole body 🤔

Cyclical suffering

it turns out Magnificus being half as tall as the other scrybes isnt exclusive to his act 2 sprite. his 3d model is significantly shorter than Leshy and Grimora! which isnt readily apparent if you're playing without mods since you need the freecam to really see it. but look at this:

he is levitating.

not only that, but Grimora is clipped through the floor so she appears even shorter:

isnt it wonderful?

this doesnt even take into consideration how big Leshy truly is if he had a fully rendered body proportionate to the size of his head, which is otherwise positioned closer to the heights of the other scrybes
